I started this drama for the same reason (Woo Do Hwan) and I agree that this drama is not a masterpiece and there are things that annoy me as well but the amount of hate it receives is not reasonable.
Also Do Hwan does a great job as always and I enjoy the scenes with him a lot.

A few more I can recommend since we seem to have similar taste:
- Mad Dog (with Do Hwan)
- The Great Seducer (also with him)
- Duel (with Yang Se Jong, male lead in My Country)

Well I've heard when a Drama like Guardian (with BL/supernatural theme, both are actually forbidden in China) gets popular in China it's something the Chinese government doesn't really like to see so they take it down or ban it before it gets "out of hand". Maybe because they fear that it could start a commotion of some sort. It's not easy to understand when you live in a state ruled by democracy. I'm not judging, I just repeat what I've read/heard online and from a Chinese drama fan.

I would recommend to read the novel if you want more from Guardian. The author (Priest) wrote an extra ending for fans after they complained about the drama ending.

I feel the same way, I wouldn't say I love one more than the other. What I meant is Guardian was literally the first. The first C-Drama with BL theme I ever watched and the first drama I loved that much. ^^

I want to watch The Dirge Singer, Yeonu's Summer, The Reason We Can't Sleep and Land of Rain. ^^

I agree with you on the production quality as The Untamed is a web series but what I disliked about Eternal Love had not much to do with production quality. I disliked the writing, the pace of the story and the amount of screen time they spend on characters like Su Jin and Xuan Nu who were probably the most pointless "villains" I've ever seen. I think Bai Qian and Ye Hua's chemistry lacked since she was as cold as ice for most of the time. I only felt chemistry between them during the second arc which was not enough to convince me that their love is eternal.
I know my opinion is unpopular and I'm not saying anyone who enjoyed this drama is wrong. I went into it with the expectation of going to like it too but it actually was the opposite. Do you mean Guardian (2018)? That is one of my favorite dramas as well. So we probably have mirror opinions and likings in dramas. xD

Yeah makes much more sense. Sorry, the synopsis made it sound awkward.

No offense, but what on earth is that supposed to mean: "Misunderstandings lead to a miscarriage." Doesn't make sense at all.

I enjoyed this drama from beginning to end.
The cast is doing a great job and the story is good. Would recommend this drama and advise to give it a try and decide for yourself if you're gonna like it or not.
I started because of my two favorite actors Woo Do Hwan and Yang Se Jong and do not regret this decision at all. Gave it a 10.

I read that Eternal Love of Dream also has a draggy pace with scheming side characters so I decided not to watch it. Might give it a try later.

Totally agree with that. Feng Jiu was so refreshing compared to the ice-cold behavior of Bai Qian.

Personally I think Eternal Love is overrated. I only found it okay. There were too many flaws that spoiled the drama so no, you're not the only one. :)
I only kept watching for the side pairing of Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. The main pairing lacked chemistry in my eyes and the female lead was annoying me a lot during the first and third arc.

I know you look for someone who liked Eternal Love but I watched it right after The Untamed (which is a masterpiece) and was really disappointed. Eternal Love is draggy, lots of side characters get attention which could be described as filler as they are not necessary for the story itself. I skipped a lot and only kept watching for the side pairing because the female lead was so unlikeable. The ending might not be rushed but I don't felt the chemistry and love between them. It was pretty much one-sided for many episodes so I couldn't really understand the female lead's behavior.
A drama that gave me the same vibes as The Untamed was Guardian (2018). ^^
