It's always fun and interesting to read how others got into Asian Dramas. ^^ For me it was also the manga/anime that lead me to (Japanese) Dramas at first. Starting with them, introduced me quite fast to Korean Dramas but somehow they didn't stick and I forgot about dramas for years until I re-encountered them at the end of 2018 through a Chinese Drama and this time they stayed in my life. xD
This is an amazing article! I took the test and since my result isn't in this part I'm looking forward to the next one and what examples you'll find in drama world for it. <3
I'll always remember The Untamed as being one of the best dramas and certainly one of the most enjoyable dramas out there. I'm a bit sad when I read that some didn't watch it because they got scared off by the BL. In fact The Untamed is not really BL, the relationship goes deeper than that and isn't a matter of gender. I love The Untamed for its story, that kept me on the edge of my seat during all 50 episodes (never felt that this amount of episodes couldn't be enough before The Untamed, but when it ended I would've been more than ready for the next 50). I love it for its beautiful OST, that I listened to for months. And most of all I love it for the cast and their outstanding performance. There were so many characters I couldn't get enough from and they each had their background. This drama had me thinking, analysing, rewatching scenes to get the deeper meaning of words and actions.
Thanks for sharing this article and your feelings over The Untamed with us. I may not agree on everything you said but the title alone is nothing less than the truth. ^.^
Ok, a question:I have the book, this drama and the anime version. Which would you say is the best? which one would…
I've watched the drama first, then read the novel and don't regret my decision. Many people watched the drama first, then read the novel and rewatched the drama a second time, saying it was a different experience that is recommendable. But generally I'm with RandomUsagi, it's up to you what you prefer. There's no right or wrong when diving in this fandom. ;)
I keep hearing so many good things about this show but constantly hesitate because of the episode count and BL…
I am one of the people who watched it and can only recommend giving it a try. It has a great cast, story and OST. The 50 episodes surely didn't feel like being too much. In fact there were many days were I watched 3-4 in a row because it was too good to stop watching. The BL is more of a soulmate type of relationship in the drama so no need to worry about that.
Never mind, I found out it doesn't show the info when an episode airing is the last one of the drama. Would be nice though, if there was a note for this like "End" or "Complete".
i cant be the only one who love this right? some people said that wen ning here is way too different, from what…
Totally agree with you. I think it's logical for Wen Ning to be more "mature". I understand why some would miss his personality traits from The Untamed (loved him there too!) but I enjoyed to see him in a developed way. Plus his chemistry with Lan Si Zhui is still there, if not even grown stronger and that's really nice to see.
If anyone is still unsure about watching this drama: The negative comments are absolutely reasonable and justified. I rated it with a generous 4.5 of 10. This drama doesn't know if it should be a parody or thriller, meaning the storyline is a mess and full of cliché. The end was so predictable it hurts. Also it focused too much on side characters that don't benefit the story and make it only boring. Oh and it's actually missing the tag of "Crazy Ex", just saying. I was quite disturbed by this. If anyone wants detailed info feel free to ask. :)
Same problem as PeachBlossomGoddess. This looks so good and tempting but totally screws my plan of making my PTW list less monster-like and intimidating. xD Thanks for the article though, The Chang'an Youth is already added to my list. ^^
Not reading this article just yet because I'm waiting for the drama to finish airing before I start watching and want to avoid spoilers but just looking at the pictures makes me super excited for it. Thanks for this article, I'll make sure to read it later. <3
In the calendar its stated which episode is airing like Episode 24 for example. If episode 24 is the last/final episode of the drama will it say "Final Episode" on the calendar?
Only 33 episodes were subbed so far and the one who translated stopped doing so and disappeared. You can watch…
I wouldn't give up hope completely. Another drama I thought would never get english subs was recently fully subbed on We TV App. :) There's always the chance someone will pick up the missing episodes and start subbing from there.
That's an awesome new feature. Now I don't need to do this manually in my calendar anymore. Thank you! Just one question: Are the final episodes of a drama marked as such?

Here are two videos you might find helpful in making your decision. I found videos without major spoilers but please be aware that it's still possible that they give away parts of the story:

If you want/need more info feel free to ask. I'm more than willing to "advertise" this drama. xD It is as good as people say. ^.^
