It's not as bad as reviewers/commenters claimed. FL is only incostistent during first half, then it all comes together and makes sense with character growth in 2nd half because of a plotline, which fixes FL flakiness . Bonus for including interesting scientific research, bioengineering at 2nd half and Rich parents that DON'T go against leads' relationship is SO REFRESHING lol. There was NO PARENTAL interferance whatsoever from neitehr FL nor ML parents, which is rare for asian drama.
Still pretty much just an average romcom. Watchable in double speed for the great leads and funny 2nd lead pairing.
Last ep suddenly ends with covid pandemic errm ok 😅.
Including the real breakout that happened during filming, and actors masking, I suppose they wanted to highlight/thank real scientists for working hard to help out irl + make leads look cool at end with working to make reusable protection gear..
But I hope they plan ahead the filming & film the ending first to avoid Na In Woo leaving for military before a good ending filmed for drama (See what happened to Bad Guy (2010) kdrama).....

have none of those flaws (except the language 😅 but still worth to watch for good plot), so even those of us who generally dislike cdrama can actually enjoy them. Nah the rating is very fair for both.The leads' relationship in The Atypical Family progressed very unaturally…
That's the point. It's not a binge-drama. It's one where you slowly digest the relationship, watch it over approx. 1 month, like in real life slowly falling for someone and enjoying yourself and not a burn-fast style relationship.

8.5 is still a good rating and suitable.
Also the genre of this project is Healing romance...can't be healing with a ML that is creepy.....
