It's a slow buildup and then get together in 2nd half. FL growth arc before proper romance. No breakups (unless you count one lasts 2 ep that was necessary for FL to growth and stop hoaxing ML wwith fake relationship!) and no love triangle. Yes a happy ending! 😍

Anyway I was only half-joking, during Will Love In Spring they had scenes involving Moving back to small hometowns and the major listing the befenefits of that in a really over the top way, really had me "Wait, what is this drama trying to do here... ha ha ?!" 🤔🤔😆
I was thinking the same while reading. More indepth characters suit him well.
He has the emotional depth with melancholic vibes/temperament to play such characters, unlike many k actors with too much of a default "blank face" and generally too unemotional.
....Ironically he appears quite "blank faced" during comedy instead. Maybe because he doesn't know how to play more funny vibes. Though no such problem in Atypical Family in romcom moments, maybe he's improved there or just more comfortable in the role.
Plus his highly Mature vibes/personality (he gets paired with Noonas alot for good reason! Women his age actually give immature vibes next to him imo lol) makes him more suited to Serious roles.
MDL filled with Genre Purists who hate any kind of Genre Mixing, it's no wonder most kdramas are so basic and similar to each other, any attempt at different gets hated on by the close-minded genre purists who can only take pure thriller or pure romcom 😡😡
