Really not keen because of the ML. Likely will end up dropping this because of him. Yeobeen deserves a better ML. The trailer isn't lowering my scepticism :/
In case anyone wonders about who gets paired with ML, This either has NO LOVE PAIRING or the pairing will be Lee Da Hee & Lee Soo Hyuk ๐ since they both play adults and Arin plays a high school student as per korean articles.
Arin plays a high school student, Lee Da Hee a highschool teacher and Lee Soo Hyuk a detective as per twitter translations of korean acrticles.....So unless they pull a creepy inappropriate student-with adult loveline ๐คฎ, the pairing will be LEE DA HEE with Lee Soo Hyuk. ๐ Or no pairing at all?
OMG! SUPER releaved that they actually picked an experienced actress indeed and then it's Lee Da Hee! OMG! Also she looks so good next to Lee Soo Hyuk, let's f***n go!! This social commentary plot is killer too.
Rewatched this drama and i'm still in awe. I've watched 100s of dramas and movies and it's only the 3rd or maybe…
This one had more realistic romance than just cringe scenes lol๐ probably that's why ๐ฅฐ It actually even paralleled my own personal life abit during airing lol, so I think realism is its strength.
I actually like romance but sadly many kdrama romances are indeed cringe, maybe less so in melorom than romcom but still. This one built their connection up slowly and sweetly rather than forced unrealistic scenes.๐
Y'all seem to know so much. Can someone tell me why Netflix sometimes drops all episodes at the same time, and…
This drama has more the traditional 16 ep Kdrama Format that was always common for decades until Netflix started making kdrama originals now in 2020s. I think they're experimenting with trying the traditional format with this drama, seeing if it's a success. People will after all keep their Netflix subscriptions longer if they cannot access all eps at once...
The shorter Ep count originals still have the Drop all eps at once Netflix ritual.
Also not all kdramas on Netflix are Netflix originals, this one seems to be and also a first in the abit longer ap count, Mad For Each Other for example also not dropped all eps at once, had to wait for that too, though it had 12 eps but not the full 16 ep like this one.
The strongest part of the drama is the first couple of eps so if you arent hooked at ep 3 you won't get much more…
Reached halfway point now and actually I have to disagree there it actually got a little bit better, to the point I'll probably actually finish it, was leaning towards dropping before, but now plot has gotten a bit more started and less annoying childhood connections scenes too.
Best eps so far ep1 & 5 onwards.... still a pretty mid-just ok drama though, better than some droppable ones but not fantastic, I'm mainly watching for Shin Hye Sun lol Also 2nd lead couple actually cuter than leads pairing and actually has some chem at least and luckily no childhoof connection just two people cutely slowly connecting. Sisters are fun, uncle-niece/Ahjumma&FL and bromance betw ML & 2ML, basically everyone but lead pairing is fun to watch lol and especially happy to just FF now if their dreadful childhood selves shown again
Are we not going to talk about the fact that they essently pulled the classic overdone annoying garbage CHILDHOOD CONNECTION TROPE?!?!
A gloried version of it with added fantasy element to it ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ still made it very annoying, and ruined a lot of my enjoyment of this drama.
Imagine if they would've made them Adults in the past life connection, with an actual Adult feary passionate love, now that would've been fire! #MissedOppoturnity
Since they are doing a second season, might as well add more neurodivergent characters for fun and representation, I hope they do. I want them showing more diffrent type of autistics, also maybe some ADHD people, Tourettes, Dyslexics etc
amazing first episodes but as many others say, plot got boring/cringe once the leads got together. honestly wish…
As a woman on the spectrum, I'm happy they decided to add romance, there's too many misconceptions that autistics can't or won't date or that we can't feel love, or any feelings & are like robots etc. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ They NEED to show an autistic person feeling feelings and doing romance, especially since this was really popular it's a good thing. How many people now understand that autistics aren't unfeeling robots thanks to this drama?!? ๐
...so in this case, it would've been flat out harmful not to add a romance!
Also it barely got focused on, the main point were still the cases.
FOR A WAY MORE REALISTIC FEMALE ASPERGER REP, JUST WATCH 'HEARTBREAK HIGH' (new version, not the 90s one) ON NETFLIX, EVEN THE ACTRESS IS AUTISTIC!
Or even just Wednesday on Netflix's Wednesday is a more realistic female autistic, because the director Tim Burton is on the spectrum too, even though the character is slightly cartoonish (well the Addams family is based on cartoons so ๐ ).
In other words it requires either actress or writer or director to be on the spectrum themselves for a more real portrayal it seems, especially if the woman has asperger/is lightly on the spectrum.
Though this drama did better than some autisc "rep" has done before, many of us "mask" our autism way better than the female lead Woo, who can't even walk into her work without being stared at for acting out of the norm. The mainly good thing was this drama showing an autistic person feeling feelings & doing romance, to make people question the dumb misunderstanding that autistics are unfeeling robots.
---just saying this as a woman on the spectrum
(Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a good drama though that's worth to watch, but so is Heartbreak High, watch both โ๏ธ)

Maybe the script was bad here, that's why she turned it down? Anyway I hope she & Jung Hae In work together some day.
