i really prefer this "boring" shows over over-dramatic-too-much-drama-and-screaming western dating shows.
I agree w Natalie, American shows especially filled w fake drama and screaming attentionseeking idiots, one person's "boring" is another person's "finally some more normal people" lol
Even the lead actor found flaws lol:https://mobile.twitter.com/YOO_I_/status/1476506936141094919Maybe don't blindly…
Not only actors who admit OWN flaws but who also dare critisize production/PD/Writer etc. ! Gong Yoo didn't mention any names but implied with the "we" could've done better.
Alot of actors only dare critize their own acting, never production. So far, the only other ones who dared critize writer/PD etc. was Ji Chang Wook and Kim Nam Gil, and latter more in gest/not heavy critisim on project but more on being a too bossy PD lol. (of course there might be other actors too, these are just the ones I'v noticed, there are faaaaaaar to many actors to keep track of what all actors ever say in interviews lol)
So anyway, I hope more actors will dare speak out, it is good for the growth of the industry as a whole too. But many actors too stuck on "maintaining an image" to be honest.

Oh wow re-reading your comment, I don't know how I misunderstood you lol sorry.
Then yes indeed,my previous comment to you isn't aimed at you but to those unreasonable biased people who cannot judge the drama fairly.
To those people: I hope you take my comment, as well as Gong Yoo's comment (!) , to heart and really think about how your biased views isn't making you see clearly. π
Maybe don't blindly worship a project and look down on people who can actually distinguish when a project needs improvement, seeing flaws isn't being childish or a hater, it's being realistic and honest, which will help in growth of this new scifi kdrama genre.
The best possible outcome for scifi genre growth in k-ent has happened: 1. Success of scifi project (top 4-7 in multiple countries in Netflix) = which means investors see more scifi kdrama is worth to invest in! YAY! π 2. and people, including its lead actor, admitting it has flaws = means they'll work harder to make better scifi in the future rather than settle for average writing
To anyone still saying how perfect this drama is, Even GONG YOO DISAGREES WITH YOU, and says that it has flaws as expected from a new scifi genre, but its flaws will help to grow the new scifi kdrama genre:
Hats off to Gong Yoo for his honesty!!!! He didn't just kiss the writer & production teams a** but honestly admits they could've done much better, but this project is just a gateway for other kdramas into doing better scifi. πππ Step 1 admit flaws, step 2 improve. Improvement to doesn't happen if you just blindly go in with "this is perfect, shut up!".
And for once the rating of 8 ish on MDL is fair and not overblown because good cast (Bae Doona, Gong Yoo) or because breathtaking cinematography/visual (which this drama does well 10/10! on that π) or because people lack judgement of clearly flawed writing.
And can people stop complaining that others are saying this drama is slow, just as you have the right to think it isn't slow, others also have the right to their opinion that it is slow.
I am beyond confused and slightly curious on how this will look like. Will they have a female lead? Will the main…
Omg adding in a romance πππ Just imagining the ML saying sweet and loving things to a friend chicken π€£ I can't. Now hope there's indeed a romance just for the hilarity π€£
Why are the people who love this drama so toxic wow, anyone not worshipping the ground of this drama and daring to voice even small critisism deemed a person not aware of scifi or is a romcom lover who needs to shut up WTF
People who claim this drama is a full 10/10 and not allowing any critisim clearly lack judgement of what makes high quality writing...This wasn't it and if we're to have any hope of better writing for future scifi kdrama, once the genre is less new and more fleshed out, critisms are very necessary
Glad you noticed this, because it's what I observed with some other, (especially the popular) dramas on here.…
" One of my favorite dramas, which was overall incredibly well received both critically and among the korean public as well as the kdrama fandom outside of MDL, just has one of the most toxic/negative comment sections on the whole site." >>>>> Are you talking about The King: Eternal Monarch?? I've never seen such EXTREME passionate irrational hatred of a drama before, only MDListers like this, it gets love everywhere else lolπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈππ
Had to make an account only to comment on this brilliant series. As a sci-fi lover this one hit all the right spots.…
Also a major scifi lover here. I wish I liked the drama as much as you, but unfortunately found the writing/execution of the great idea this series had very average. :/
Ok so this did get better later on, however still was veeeery slow, even while watching in 1,5 speed. Too many eps, would've worked better with 4 eps.
As a major scifi fan, I have to say while the idea is intelligently thought out and a realistic future possibility lacking water, the execution of the storyline was very average. This could've easily been a total masterpiece because of the fascinating idea, but unfortunately wasn't. 8/10. (deserves really only a 7-7.5, but Bae Doona raises the score with her acting ) Too bad it didn't quite live up to expectations. Worth watching for idea alone though, and for Bae Doona's star performance, she carries the show pretty much; just expect to be a bit bored while watching lol.
Also unlike others here, I saw nothing wrong with that ending, I liked the ending.
Agree... Kim Nam Gil shoould have been paired with Lee Elijah or Yoon Ah Jung at least :/ or some underrated actress…
So which of the two female leads will be playing his love interest??? I really hope it's Lee Ho Jung π
That way I can actually enjoy LYY too, as the villain actress that she is.
Cause so far I've only seen articles call both actresses female leads, NO clarification on who does the loveline w KNG! π€£
Plus I watched some acting clips of Lee Ho Jung, and she actually seems like she'd match Namgil too, so I'm hoping for it., OMG they seem like an exciting pair!! π Despite the agegap, which isn't really felt, her mental age is really like 32-34 π
