So I'm confused about how Anne is popping up in interviews about this drama together with Nadech and Yaya...Is she part of the cast as well? Yet she isn't added in the list What part will she be playing?
Excited because one of my faves alobg with Nadech&Yaya
I really would like to see Park Shin-hye with Kim Jae-wook for this one!
Kim Jae Wook deserves LEAD roles yes! If Hyun Bin doesn't accept this maybe. Otherwise I want KJW cast as the lead in another drama soon, a lead who FINALLY gets the girl!
For some weird reason, the leads are giving me siblings vibe. Maybe because so far, I haven't liked Hyun Bin's…
Lol the drama hasn't even started yet! Wait until they're in scenes together to make that judgement. Plus if the love story is well written it can be hard not to start liking the leads together. Btw I also like him with Ha Ji Won but I think he himself is enough to watch
Wow ep 9 FINALLY they have an evil spirit sticking around for more than 1 ep! I hope they find a solution to the current problemsome situation yet also somehow that they don't completely banish the Storybook evil spirit lady. They need a villain that lasts for longer than an ep! Plus Storybook lady seems cool
''He's really smooth guy, just like this coffee''''If you're going to fight with a monster *give a chocolate bar*…
Hahhahahhaa I think it was ep 5 or 4, that one ep was just one ad scene after the next! Seeing as how espensive this show propably is, it's not shocking though and even forgivable, got to get the money from somewhere
OH MY GOD. Lee Joon and Jung So Min dating irl. I think i'll go crazy. My ultimate ship has sailed. This is so…
Whaaaaaaaat!?! They're dating??? Is there like official news/confirmation on that? Haven't watched the drama but I'm familiar with Jung So Min and I tend to love watching sailed ship's dramas because of the crazy amazing chemistry. Hmm I'll think I'll now check out their drama together.
So far from all my dramaviewing I've liked many pairings but only been really obsessed with four:
From 2017 there's only 1: "PichiCouple", "WangSun" aka. Grim Reaper & Sunny from Goblin, aka. Lee Dong Wook & Yoo In Na. Love spanning over 1000 years, sad love, deep love. And a chemistry much much higher than the main couple. Ontop of this they were so cute with each other BTS! I can't get over them still.
The other 3 (not from 2017 though): The Healing Couple from Healer. They're the ones who turned me from a curious casual viewer of asian drama into a drama fan. Not shipping them so much anymore though.
The thai super couple who may or may not be dating in real life Nadech & Yaya. They have 6 dramas together + upcoming movie + support roles in same dramas together....in total now 9 projects together (& who knows what other future projects they may have together!)...9! That's a craaaazy amount of projects together!! And I'm not alone. Watch interviews and press conferences with these two and you'll notice how whole Thailand is OBSESSED with them! I've never seen "professional" people/reporters/interviewers shipping a couple before; but with these two even reporters/Interviewers/etc. behave like fangirls&fanboys sheering them on, constantly hinting at their cuteness! These two just clicked on camera the 1st time the were paired together on screen, and still oozing a natural chemistry and an extreme cuteness taken to an otherworldy height!
Also got really obsessed with Shin Min Ah & Rain on A Love To Kill; because the love written in that drama is so deep and their acting is so phemenonal it's hard not to get obsessed. Shin Min Ah's acting "In Love" especially is so ridiculuously believable! But since I only watched that drama in 2017 where I know that they're both together with different people, it kills any real life shipping. Otherwise I would've become much more obsessed.
Nadech&Yaya and PichiCouple, It seems that I'll NEVER get over them. Too cute
The description of the character make her seem like a very fair person, hopefully she also applies this to her love life and knows how to stand by the 1 (and only 1!) person that she likes!
" just have her gain enough weight for the role" Woah woah. Kdrama world is not the same as the hollywood world.…
You completely ignored my earlier comment about people being at differerent basic natural skill levels (tonedeaf people going on auditions etc...)
Yes anyone can be trained to do anything...at a MEDIUM level. A job does not require a person to be the best at it, just requires enough to make it.
But that's just it, acting (or any art form for that matter) shouldn't stay at a medium level, passion helps alot in motivation for training well yet you can't simply ignore people's natural tendencies. We are only equal in that we're all humans worthy of basic respect, but other than that people aren't equal at all. Natural selection and all that, everyone has strengths and weaknesses, some people completely suck at some things no matter how much they try and train where others quickly succeed. Human differences exist wheather you acklowledge them or not.
You sound like you're trying to be realistic, while failing to actually do so. You propably never experienced though situations where no training hope or anythibg could help. There are limits in life; those include the skill/talent (or lack thereof) of people; sure trying harder will certainly get one far but there are things in life that just suck, nomatter how positive or trained one is. Training as a solution for everything is a foolish bargain, like optimism is in general.
Thank you for caring about my feelings, not enough of care between people generally; but I think I'll be fine. I think you misunderstood a part: what I said earlier was simply my WISHES and NOT my actual EXPECTATIONS regarding this upcoming drama. I expect that it won't be as great as I desire; in fact, for this reason I've begun to write my own fanfic version with my own casting of this drama; this way I can get the drama I actually want and can give this one a shot. Call me a snob or whatever but I'd rather maintain my standards over lowering them just so that I can enjoy something; especially since there are in fact naturally enjoyable things(&dramas) that are good despite high standards. I'll give this drama a few eps, but will probably end up dropping this because Korea isn't to par with my progressive standards, but we'll see. A Korean Odyssey recently featured a future prediction/vision about Korea getting nuked (in times of North Korea's & USA's missile threats!!), and a drama about the current North Korea nukes issues is currently being developed which will feature both (south)Korean and American actors! That's gutsier than many western Tv series ever dare to do! If Korea continues to apply this recent balsiness to this drama as well things may not turn out as bad. We'll see.
But It was an interesting discussion we had here regardless thank you for indulging.
" just have her gain enough weight for the role" Woah woah. Kdrama world is not the same as the hollywood world.…
About gaining weight: since this is Korea, the actress wouldn't need to be as fat as the actress in the American Original series; I think it can be forgiven given the cultural difference; she'd just need to be fat enough to be called fat, not just chubby. That way, maybe they can convinve some dedicated actress more easily, an actress who'd believe in this series important message enough to do it.
Also some actors are more willing than others to do daring/exhausting things for a role than others, whether payed or not. It's called being a true actor/artist.
(example: for The Pianist, Adrian Brody sold his house all his belongings and broke up with his girlfriend and started starving and living on the street, deeply suffering: all in the name of a role!
Also one actress in Weightliftingfairy Kim Bok Joo gained weight for her role (and you know she wasn't payed well for it!); and another korean actress talked in Strong Heart about how she always adjusted her weight according to the roles she played, like a true actress, I think it was Jung So Min? ...Maybe they can cast her, since she'd be willing; then again haven't seen her acting but she seems charismatic; if she can act well hmm maybe...
" just have her gain enough weight for the role" Woah woah. Kdrama world is not the same as the hollywood world.…
"Anybody can be trained to sing and act" riiiight, that's why there's so many mediocre actors out there getting work, because that's all everybody expects and even accepts; that's why there's people auditiong for singing programs people whose parents didn't dare tell them that they're tone deaf, yeah right.... NOT ANYBODY CAN BE GOOD, being ABLE to do something isn't the same thing as being really talented at something. Yes talent can and often is learned, but there must be some underlying skill involved too.
This role in particular is WAY more challenging too than a typical role; the lead here must not only be able to carry the show but must do so while remaining fat, a feat not many can do, must have the most extraordinary charisma to be loved despite the oppression pushed on fat people, must be able to do her own thing regardless of others hate, must thus be brave and be charming in acting out the role SKILLFULLY, profesionally like an actress and not just simply have comic timing but be able to act and to act WELL. Having a fat person as the lead who gets the ultimate ideal guy is controversial and progressive EVEN FOR WESTERN STANDARDS! So I don't know how conservative Korea can handle it. This is a great concept, and one that carries a very important and clear message; yet is very hard to execute. The original series worked only because the writing was great AND because they cast such a perfect charismatic person that could carry the show despite being fat (& the other great actors too). If EITHER one of these would've been missing aka. Bad writing or the lead couldn't carry the controversial and challenging concept (aka. great writing but bad or even mediocre lead or good lead but bad writing) it would NEVER have worked. So if Korea isn't willing to go ALL the way out to not only WRITE it well but to also CAST it well, they might as well not take on such a challenging concept. Since they chose this controversial subject they will only look shallow and cowardly if they refuse to execute it well. Then they should've just remade a less controversial, less challenging series; this concept carries a standard and a message far more challenging than average.
Btw, CLARIFICATION: I'm NOT saying Kim Seul Gi is the ONLY good actress for the role, I'm saying she would be a great candidate; and that they'd have to find someone who can act out the role really well, I simply said she'd be great fit. They have to find someone who would be as great as she'd be in this role (or just cast her), I'm basically using her as the acting standard they'd have to reach with whoever they cast. Frankly I'm skeptical over this working out because even if they write this well it would be hard to a) Find and be able to cast an actress that can (& is willing) take on such a challenging role and to b) Deliver the controversial product well and its daring message in conservative Korea. But best of luck to them, maybe they'll surprise me, but propably not....
And not being picky and settling is why there are so many low quality dramas/art/whatever in this world, because rather than ACTUALLY trying their best people settle. Not being picky encourages a bad product/outcome, it's not us the viewers that should just automatically like whatever's put out there but rather it's the opposite way: to gain viewers a product must be worthy of such a thing aka. must be good; the drama must convince us to watch it. I see so many bad drama writers still getting work and I wonder WHY? Why do these people get work while there are many more talented people out there. (answer: contacts, I know. But this encourages bad to mediocre writing/products. Same problem with mediocre actors.)
