honestly, I might get killed for saying this but if it weren't for episodes 5 and 6, I would have thought JY deserved…
We don't have the full picture yet. There are a few years missing from the timeline. His degree shows he got into college pretty late, so we need to wait and see what he was doing during that time.
Also, it's difficult for kids of abusive parents to get out of the shadow of their past. DH is trying very hard (too hard) to put it behind him, but the self-blame isn't easy to get rid of. I'm trusting Queen Da-Seul to have it all make sense by the end.
I found episodes 1 & 2 just okay, it got interesting in episodes 3 & 4, but episodes 5 & 6 really got me.
Of course it's complicated. A lot changes in 12 years. A lot did change for Do-Hoe. Not so much for Ju-Young (except for his financial condition). He is the same simple and honest soul he was 12 years ago. But Do-Hoe went from complications to more complications - claims to have studied architecture, is an engineering graduate (or is he?), and teaches English. There's something shady about his past, and he desperately wants Ju-Young to stop asking questions.
Their lovemaking was so different compared to the past. The joy of being with the one you love was missing. It wasn't without feelings, but the feelings were bittersweet. There's so much unsaid and hidden.
Do-Hoe is a scared man who keeps throwing money around to hide the fact. Fortunately for him, Ju-Young gets him instinctively, and he is now letting Do-Hoe move ahead at his own pace. I can't wait to see how Queen Hwang will conclude this.
Hill deserves better than stupid Ter. If they get married, Hill will spend every day of his life explaining the obvious to this idiot.
It was funny the way Hill used North as bribe to make Johan go to Ter 😄 North seems as clueless as Ter though. How could he not get the elevator stare Johan gave him? 🤷🏻♀️ The good thing is that Johan is neither as sweet nor as patient as Hill. I'm more than ready to see the bad boy bring some much needed spice to this show.
Why does this brain-dead show keep giving me the feels?!
Elyes in love is a delight. He was totally committed when he was with Run. When Run broke his heart, he became a player with a vengeance. But now that he is in love again, he is totally committed to Pat.
I loved the scene where they are both buttoning up their shirts on the couch, letting us know that they have just made love. Elyes is all heart eyes and huge smiles 🥰 He took his time accepting his feelings for Pat, but once he did, he turned into a love bomber. And Kim and Run don't exist for him anymore.
However, Pat being his secretary is still problematic. The power balance between the two is heavily skewed one way. Elyes has shown time and again that he can make Pat's life very difficult whenever he is annoyed with him. They are literally master and servant, and that's not doable in the long run.
And what's Fei Long's deal anyway? You keep an obsessive watch over Run, you cry that single tear when he takes Elyes' name, you can't keep your hands off him, and then you go snog those boys in the bar?! But NGL, I'm intrigued by their dynamic. Run may complain every time he speaks with Fei Long, but it does seem that he wants to hear Fei Long say that he cares for him. I'm interested to see how these two end up.
It's a misunderstanding, I'm sure. I refuse to believe Woo-Jin sees Su-An as someone casual. However, anyone in Su-An's shoes would have understood the same from that conversation.
And Woo-Jin really is too smooth with his flirting. That quip about their overnight stay was out of line. Really, what? They aren't even officially dating yet! Su-An did well to draw clear boundaries. Now show him your sincerity Mr. Han!
Sweet Pond, jealous Pond, whipped Pond is keeping me here. I will continue to watch for him. And his friends group. Unfortunately, Cooheart has been a letdown.
The chin grab was gorgeous, the kiss was amazing, but what got me was Woo-Jin resting his head on Su-An's shoulder after the kiss and his eyes being open and alert and thoughtful. You could feel him thinking, "Shall I ask him out now? Will it be okay?" 🥹
Pat isn't our strongest soldier, is he? He crumbles the moment Elyes gives him a genuine smile. But then, Elyes is quite irresistible when he turns on the charm!
So more mess with the ex and evil rival coming up. And now Pat's ex-gf is going to be added to the mix. Bring on the dumpster fire 😇
Woo-Jin's flirting is top tier! If Su-An wasn't so stuck up, he would have realised much earlier that what his sunbae is doing is flirting, not teasing. But now that he has realised, he isn't wasting any time 😇
These guys are both such green flags. Now they just need to open up to each other, get married, and have kids 🥰
I'm not liking the mix of Korean and Thai languages. It keeps taking away from the feel of the scene. It's not just the language, the two distinct acting styles aren't gelling well too. I can't help feeling that the chemistry would have been much better if both guys were Korean or both were Thai.
I love how gentle Hill is with Ter. His flirting is all thoughtful gestures and respectful teasing. But I have a problem with the over-cutesy way Cooheart is playing Ter. I mean, innocence is fine but this too-much-innocence is a put off. Because of that he comes across as a 12 year old boy being courted by a 19 year old - it's uncomfortable to watch.
I blame the director coz Cooheart has played college students earlier without being a perpetual babe-in-the-woods. Feel bad for Pond too that he has to play off these vibes that make him come across as a pedo.
Elyes, you asshole! Pat deserves better. Kim deserves better. Poor helpless Thiti deserves better! A perfect world would be one where the three of them beat the shit out of him.
But the chemistry 🥵 And Elyes being jealous.... oh so satisfying! It seems like Pat has finally had enough. Now time for some much needed groveling from the asshole!
