OMG...this drama is from 2000. I'm here to watch Won Bin (interested in him, and his cult status) but I'm not sure if I can last the entire gig with all the melodrama.
If there's a 2nd season, I might possible retrieve this drama from the dustbin, brush it off to remove the dust, and resume watching from ep 12 because I totally enjoyed the OTTness of this drama and I only dropped it because I heard there wasn't a proper conclusion, and I didn't want to put myself thru the heartbreak O.o
I used to have the biggest crush on this guy. It's long gone to bed, thank goodness :P Why is he always pigeon-holed into playing effeminate caricatures, who is always playing someone "beautiful" or another. He needs to be challenged.
PS: (It's hard to fancy someone when you realise he uses more make-up/hair products than you.)
I don't think the kiss was in anyway romantic, but it totally suited the tone/mood of the show. Bravo! Here I am at ep 12, praying these writers come back and write another hit for 2014.
I can't explain it. This drama is really well paced, every scene is relevant, not too many flashbacks (THANK GOD, I hate it when Kdramas rely too heavily on those, and it goes on for minutes), sprinkling of well-placed humour, heroine who has to cry a lot but you can tell she's a totally well-balanced, cheery character (hurray, she isn't the bog-standard limpet fare), Bae Su Bin who has come to star in 2 of my fav dramas (49 days + this) so I absolutely love the evil him, Ji Sung who is a total opposite to his "Protect the Boss" character (brilliant acting by him)
and finally the rest of the cast + crew. Master's Sun (which I liked) looks so pale in comparison now, lol.
You should see him in "Soul." Again that douchebaggery role, and such a raging physcopath/bully. It feels weird to see him in a postive, romantic role in Reply 1994 but I'm welcome to this change and it's always a sign of a versatile actor to play both ends of the spectrum.
sneeze....pahahahahahaha
*spends 20 minutes laughing*
(ok, so more like 2...but it's still funny!)

Hi, got your request in the post, like a dummy I opened it and threw it in the bin :P Nah, I joke. Accepted!!! Computer virtual friend. How are you today?? Isn't Tamaki the greatest EVER? lol
(Also I'm thinking of starting Bloody Monday...if I find an adequate streaming site that is.)
Ha. This article started of very light-hearted about what watching dramas told me about asian politics (notice the light-hearted dramas included as my examples), but then I found myself bombarded with REAL HISTORY and then I tried to incoperate THAT in, and now I'm left half-half, with feet in both worlds and I don't know what the hell hit me.
Writing this was definitely an experience :P
Thanks for the support/information and I'll rethink again why they say you shouldn't talk about "Politics/War/Religion" at the dinner table, however naive the approach. (It leades to the BIGGEST of bust-ups.)
I should also probably do the research, or make it explicitly clear I'm doing this under no payment, so write my articles in a space of 1/2 hour and spend WAY more time photoshopping the pictures.
I'll just say what everyone is thinking: This show is the shit. I just started watching this Monday night and…
I think ppl watch the first few episodes, and get all crazy becuz they think it's about a sacraficial lamb ("typical candy") who goes to prison for a STUPID reason (protecting her bf) and then spends the rest of the drama in prison lol.
This drama is SO much more than that. I admit. Whilst watching the first 5 eps, I was getting impatient, but I 'm glad I watched all beginning 5, becuz none of them were boring and terrible and actually set up the story quite quite well, so all of us are here, today, spazzing over this show.
Wow this was seriously so freaking good I wish this had been longer ... Also I knew that cable shows could be…
There are seedy underbellies in every culture, especially in the objectification of women. Much like you, I was shocked, because I thought Korean dramas were all cutesy animal references and polka dot dresses :P Turns out we're all wrong...
Your article was really cool! Frankly, I'm from France and I never understood all the buzz about Paris, the first…
lol, Paris is at it's best when everyone else is asleep. The streets are quite serene then. But I agree. There are many wonderful towns/cities OTHER than Paree...it's just not being exploited!!
Korea and Japan are not really allies. They are at peace with each other and there is a lot of exchange in regards…
Haha, funny you should mention that, because I was watching the news last night and SK + J are at it AGAIN! This time over the island/s I think lontongstroong is talking about.
I've also seen (8 episodes of) Gakistal, so I don't know why I blanked that from my memory. Anyways, I've slept on it and I came back and changed their status to "frenemy" which I think best describes their relationship.
People who are giving it a ten by just watching first couple episodes to get this drama on #1 are are pathetic.…
@Ramster - I think ur right. Whenever I feel strongly about a couple of episodes, I give an overall rating but that is ALWAYS subject to change. There's nothing wrong with changing your opinion later on, I think that's perfectly normal. Other times, I don't care either way so leave the rating blank. So keep doing what your doing. Luckily, only YOU can decide! (Although NO rating b4hand)
Liking this show much more than expected! And I'm shipping her with both guys already xD
Oh, I don't know...I hope you're right! My mind is hardwired into thinking melodrama style, lol. But this is a rom-com, so hopefully lots of fluffy stuff. I just don't like how her brother treats her :/ it's quite mean.

How comes?? (Genuinely interested) The ajumma (that's the older Mi Rae, we know) genuinely hates Kim Shin's guts, as he murders the one she loves, and I get this dark undercurrent, that maybe he's abusive after marriage.
Did none of that come across, or was it just me???
Will let you know how I fare xp

Hmmm.
But it was fun. Thank you all! :D

Everything you said was right. I'm glad you pointed it out, because now I can develop the article and make it more accurate.
Many thanks.

Good on you, for being on the ball!
