FBND...Loved the premise, but even with a social recluse/hermit at the centre of an unconventional romance, the pace of the plot lacked severely for me. Such a shame. Because I love leads that defy convention....just better pacing next time. Please
IHYV...Best thing about that drama, is the 1st episode. 10/10. It broke my heart when the rest of the drama happened^^ lol. I'm over-exaggerating, but what an amazing opener, hard to live up too^^
CA...Again, an unconventional lead! Gold-digger, this time! I loved it, though for some reason I didn't stick with it...I would like to see a similiar plot, but with better execution. Ruthless female leads that grow a heart, have so much to give!!!
Heirs...What a travesty. Shamazing cast, me arse. lol. They spent so much money/time/life on this, it could've been the same as tipping it down the toilet. No. I must refrain from being too harsh.
*being porn under the imperial star.
loool, that was so funny, i was dying, haha. I literally think that was a typo, though p and b are not next to each other on the keyboard, leading me to wonder if that was an elf being deliberately mischievous *_* Hmmm...
This article was brilliant. Yes. Us brits do say, "He's fit!" I thought everyone said that, kekeke. (I'm joking) Aussies also say gaol for prison....confused me a lot at first.
All the examples were GR8. I prefer modified english (touchy, I know) especially when watching anime...I tried both literal and modified, and literal gave me a headache (plus it took up a bigger space, causing me to pause a lot, and disrupt the flow - exactly like you said!)
However what you suggested is best - having a mixture of both.
What an immature comment (I'm letting you off lightly here.) Have you ever volunteered in a shelter for rape victims? I think it'll open your eyes up a LOT.
omg, out of all the bad hairstyles out there, you choose this lot?! I disagree on practically all of them, except FH : Take two. Yes, most of them aren't brilliant (but I think it suits their character to a tee, so I'm forgiving) Plus, I LIKED all the F4 hairstyles!! Enjoyed Lee Hong Ki's, and to see Lee Jun Ki sporting longish hair was a different take to him!! I liked it!!
i wasted time of my life to watch this. i regret even starting it. kim woo bin can't act. lee min ho's acting…
I agree with you superpasta. Kim Woo Bin, is officially at risk of following his comrade (Lee Min Ho) into the overhyped category. Although I like him; I still dropped this drama at ep 6 and not even Kim Woo Bin's acting could save it for me. I don't stick to dramas, just because my "fav" actor is in it. If the story is crap, I will be the first to exit pronto. None of this "so and so was in it, so I stuck to the end!" business. Time is too precious, I guess :D
Don't quote me on this, but I think they've recasted Zoey for the third time. (Someone different to the one presented here)....I actually welcome this; though all this last-minute reshooting and cast changes make the entire production look amauteurish. Oh well! I guess that's what you get, when you don't have one of the major networks to answer too.
I'll give the first episode a try :P (Even if it's just for a laugh)
thanks to flower boy next door and the heirs, i don't like park shin hye and i won't ever try to watch a drama…
I actually think PSH is the most misunderstood actress in the business. I'm not a fan, by any means, but the girl's a very good actress, and like Ether says, probably picks all the wrong roles.
She was a brilliant child actress. Those first five episodes of Stairway to Heaven proved it. She also does CF's, and I don't understand this kissing problem, because she manages just fine in those!
I think either the director instructs her to be pitiful, or PSH gets the script and totally misreads her character - feeling an obligation to milk sympathy from the audience, by crying and looking sad, because that's what she THINKS everyone wants.
I haven't given up on her just yet. Hopefully someone has a word with her, about diversifying her roles.
A natural beauty and by far one of my favorite korean actresses. She did an amazing job in secret love.
I agree, I think she's had a lot of surgery done, and I'm speaking as one of her biggest fans. Usually I'm distracted by shiny, plastic faces but Hwang Jung Eum has the rare quality of shining in all her roles...so I don't care if she's botox barbie or whatever...(it's well known most idols have had a nip & tuck)

lol, yes!
Tolerance is humanity's biggest weapon to live peacefully. Ever notice, both World Wars were caused by men? Why are they so prone to fly of the handle then women? (Though there are violent women out there too...shiver)
YEH is not my fav actress, though I think she's a fabulous person and extremely lovable & cute.
I enjoyed "Coffee Prince" and she's the best "kisser" in korean TV, but even that couldn't make me stick with "Lie to Me" and "Goong." I hate it when they make her cry. Because when she starts to do much, I start to find whatever character she's portraying as "annoying." Especially in Lie to Me, when she started blubbing ALL the time, and it was over a GUY who she's only known 2 weeks, and what a waste of tears :/
Otherwise, she is certainly watcheable even though she isn't one of my favs :)
Seeing Lee Min Ho in that "snow" still, tears me up. Not because he's cold, but purely because his look, his acting, his n00b status (which benefited him, instead of hyping him up) completed BOF yet now it's the total opposite. That's the Lee Min Ho of old.
I agree with all the examples, and this article is simply dashing!!! Funny how love cures everything...
Once again - FABULOUS JOB.

Haha, men accuse women of being shallow (going for their wallet) and women think men have mid-life crisis's (a la Johnny Depp) and trade their beautiful wives for younger wtf models because they are weak, and scared of their impending mortality.
Yes, I'm 20-something but at least I don't feel any pressure to marry before I'm 30, even though my culture back home, practically writes you of as "goods-nobody-wants" by then. Shocking.
Back in the sub-continent, women are seen like cattle, families have to pay dowries to the male family, so in most cases (not all) the men think it's OK to hit the wife, get her pregnant all the time, etc etc.
Although that's not the case here, thankfully, where women are working & supporting themselves. Nobody has to get married. Statistically 50% end in divorce anyway. Korea has also massively improved,& I'm hoping that growth reaches my part of Asia too!

Hi, I just read ur review for the "woman who still wants to marry." Brilliant review! I agree...the whole "christmas cake" terminology is just terrible. There's just the same stigma in India/Sri Lanka too. This makes me grateful for living in the west!! lol.
I watched Koizara (the drama) and I was bawling by the 1st episode, even though nothing had happened yet!! For the risk of my sanity, I decided not to watch the remaining 2, incase I collapsed with grief.
Again with 1 litre of tears...I absconded by the 8th episode. I also bailed at Scent of a woman, ep 11, when he finally finds out...gosh. What's wrong with me? I need to learn how to weather melodramas better!
That was the most uncomfortable kiss I ever seen. The poor girl kept pushing and pushing while he kept forcing…
I know you and Chrisstina had a whole interaction there, but I'd just like to go back to your original comment.
No, I don't find the kiss romantic and it shouldn't be intrepreted as such. If anyone is finding that sexy, I hope they don't find stuff like "stockholm syndrome" sexy. lol, what am i like.
I prefered that kiss though, rather than Yoo Jung reciprocating. tbh I'm not fussed if they get together & have 2.2 babies, white picket fence, the whole shebang at the end, but that is highly rose-tinted, and I don't know if it fits in with the whole mood of the drama. I just hope they surprise us in a good way.
