Person Bae Soo Bin
I've just watched him in 49 Days and Secret Love, but... why does he play the bad role?!! Get a good, wise one…
Those two dramas single-handedly makes him the best korean actor out there, thankfully not everyone's cottoned onto yet, because their eyes are stilled turned by the flower boys O.o

He brings a complexity to villain roles, unlike any I've really experienced before. Usually they're stock characters, not room for shades of grey, but Bae Su Bin manages to portray a naive, good-hearted person who gets corrupted ovet time in both dramas. It's extremely compelling to watch.

(49 days - He falls in love with the best friend, and gets drawn into this "revenge" scheme, which eventually makes him loose his faith in love. Secret - wants to rid the world of all it's problems, but is much of a coward, which eventually transforms into a cruel-hearted streak...and even then...he brings hues to the role!)

Good Luck on whatever he chooses next :D

This article is genuinely amazeballs. Well done, Regine, I'm looking forward to any future articles from you!! :D

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. It has every cliche in the book running, but I'm a sucker for them if fleshed out well. Lee Hong Ki....he's winning me over. Mutiple times, I feel like the role will be better suited to someone more adept at playing cold-hearted, but his intrepretation leaves me satisified for now.

PS: That ajumma peeing all over the floor when hitching a piggyback, made my day! :D:D Love the humour

What a stupid plot...
Maybe. Am a glutton for punishment after all :D It'll be funny if they make Ae-Ra begging in the dumpsters, only because it'll make me think "Serves you right for being such a shallow numpty"

Disclaimer: The above opinion bears no altitude on how I REALLY feel about homelessness. It's a terrible thing that can happen to anyone, all it takes is for a freak weather occurence for eg.

Will you be tuning in?

What a stupid plot...
The synposis makes it sound like she's only going after her ex-husband again because he's rolling in money...I'm so iffy when it comes to things like that.

lol...your blacklisted actresses. Opinion on Suzy Bae that bad? Everyone was wittering on about how gr8 she is, in Gu Family Book, much better than previous dramas. I didn't stick around long enough for her (lol) but true opinion? Please?

Also no blacklisted actors? A bit one-sided, I think. Becoz there's plenty out there.

PS: You're missing out with Kim Sun Ah. "Scent of a Woman" was great. But hey. Just me then!

Feel tempted to pick up Cruel City again now...I loved it so much first time round, until like an idiot, I read a couple of spoilers....but who the hell cares! I'm going back to watch it!! This just re-confirmed it :)

I adored Secret Love...though I put the last 3 episodes on hold. I do that, when I'm sad about a drama ending :/
Master's Sun...probably overated, yes. But if you don't read anything beforehand, I think it'll be a pleasant surprise. (I dropped MS after ep 2....it was only the comments on here, that made me pick it back up...so it's a double-edged sword. After reading comments, I either stop entirely (Cruel City) or pick it up again (Master's Sun.)

Didn't like FBND...dropped it. Dropped TWTWB too. It was great acting, but I'd seen the film yonks ago, so I knew where it was going...

Great article...thanx for reintroducing me again to Cruel City! kisses, kisses

Asian dramas definitely occupy a niche, and I love them for doing it. I LOVE the pure innocence they capture in the romance; though 90% of the time I'm irritated by the childishness (when it gets too much, though I suppose it goes hand in hand with innocence.)

I do not watch a lot of American TV (used too), but I don't watch a lot of Asian either. Both are lovely to dip into, but I can perfectly well abstain from both, for months at a time. It's scary when I think about it!

(continued) Whenever I dislike something, I say to myself, "Well, imagine if I was 14! Would I have liked it back then?? Chances are...yes. And just because the older me is more jaded, and hyper-critical, doesn't mean younglings out there, who are watching dramas like this for the 1st time aren't getting their brains blown out by the sheer awesomeness of it all."

And then I secretly hope the 14-year-old version of me would've felt the same :)

lol. This is all a big joke. No-one take it seriously :D

FBND...Loved the premise, but even with a social recluse/hermit at the centre of an unconventional romance, the pace of the plot lacked severely for me. Such a shame. Because I love leads that defy convention....just better pacing next time. Please

IHYV...Best thing about that drama, is the 1st episode. 10/10. It broke my heart when the rest of the drama happened^^ lol. I'm over-exaggerating, but what an amazing opener, hard to live up too^^

CA...Again, an unconventional lead! Gold-digger, this time! I loved it, though for some reason I didn't stick with it...I would like to see a similiar plot, but with better execution. Ruthless female leads that grow a heart, have so much to give!!!

Heirs...What a travesty. Shamazing cast, me arse. lol. They spent so much money/time/life on this, it could've been the same as tipping it down the toilet. No. I must refrain from being too harsh.

*being porn under the imperial star.
loool, that was so funny, i was dying, haha. I literally think that was a typo, though p and b are not next to each other on the keyboard, leading me to wonder if that was an elf being deliberately mischievous *_* Hmmm...

This article was brilliant. Yes. Us brits do say, "He's fit!" I thought everyone said that, kekeke. (I'm joking) Aussies also say gaol for prison....confused me a lot at first.

All the examples were GR8. I prefer modified english (touchy, I know) especially when watching anime...I tried both literal and modified, and literal gave me a headache (plus it took up a bigger space, causing me to pause a lot, and disrupt the flow - exactly like you said!)

However what you suggested is best - having a mixture of both.

What an immature comment (I'm letting you off lightly here.) Have you ever volunteered in a shelter for rape victims? I think it'll open your eyes up a LOT.

omg, out of all the bad hairstyles out there, you choose this lot?! I disagree on practically all of them, except FH : Take two. Yes, most of them aren't brilliant (but I think it suits their character to a tee, so I'm forgiving) Plus, I LIKED all the F4 hairstyles!! Enjoyed Lee Hong Ki's, and to see Lee Jun Ki sporting longish hair was a different take to him!! I liked it!!

i wasted time of my life to watch this. i regret even starting it. kim woo bin can't act. lee min ho's acting…
I agree with you superpasta. Kim Woo Bin, is officially at risk of following his comrade (Lee Min Ho) into the overhyped category. Although I like him; I still dropped this drama at ep 6 and not even Kim Woo Bin's acting could save it for me. I don't stick to dramas, just because my "fav" actor is in it. If the story is crap, I will be the first to exit pronto. None of this "so and so was in it, so I stuck to the end!" business. Time is too precious, I guess :D

Don't quote me on this, but I think they've recasted Zoey for the third time. (Someone different to the one presented here)....I actually welcome this; though all this last-minute reshooting and cast changes make the entire production look amauteurish. Oh well! I guess that's what you get, when you don't have one of the major networks to answer too.

I'll give the first episode a try :P (Even if it's just for a laugh)

thanks to flower boy next door and the heirs, i don't like park shin hye and i won't ever try to watch a drama…
I actually think PSH is the most misunderstood actress in the business. I'm not a fan, by any means, but the girl's a very good actress, and like Ether says, probably picks all the wrong roles.

She was a brilliant child actress. Those first five episodes of Stairway to Heaven proved it. She also does CF's, and I don't understand this kissing problem, because she manages just fine in those!

I think either the director instructs her to be pitiful, or PSH gets the script and totally misreads her character - feeling an obligation to milk sympathy from the audience, by crying and looking sad, because that's what she THINKS everyone wants.

I haven't given up on her just yet. Hopefully someone has a word with her, about diversifying her roles.

A natural beauty and by far one of my favorite korean actresses. She did an amazing job in secret love.
I agree, I think she's had a lot of surgery done, and I'm speaking as one of her biggest fans. Usually I'm distracted by shiny, plastic faces but Hwang Jung Eum has the rare quality of shining in all her roles...so I don't care if she's botox barbie or whatever...(it's well known most idols have had a nip & tuck)
