Well, I guess props to you for stepping forward. Not trying to be offensive, but I don't know you, and how much of a credible source of information you are. But really, it doesn't matter. I can also give my opinion, which is what I'm doing. IMO they're doing it for the money, because these are the types of roles they tend to get cast in due to Gun's physique - but hopefully I'm wrong. As for being popular - numbers on MDL do not reflect that popularity you are talking about. Not Me has vastly better statistics than Cooking Crush. And in numbers we trust. Having said that, BLs are popular worldwide, so I'd be really interested to see the statistics of what percentage of the audience is Thai and international.
Gun has said he wants to remain young looking so he can play student roles for a long time.
Well ya, I agree about the money part, lol. Not Me might've not been the biggest hit back when it aired (due to the lack of promotion, among other things), but right now - correct me if I'm wrong - it's one of two or three highest rated BLs on MDL (all are rated 8.5), with the biggest number of votes among them. So essentially, it's the highest rated BL. At least on MDL, it has managed to gather only a slightly smaller audience than smash BL hits such as Bad Buddy (lower rated). Whereas shows like Cooking Crush were only able to gather a small fraction of its numbers. So yeah...it feels like someone is forgetting to do the math at GMMTV.

I'm sure they've had multiple videos on various topics, re: Cooking Crush. I'm simply saying I never trust hearsay. Generally, if you show me the exact source i.e. a link to a video & a timestamp etc. and it looks credible, I'll gladly learn something new. "Something somewhere" isn't a source. And just so that you don't go on a wild goose chase rn: I'm not asking you to give me your source, I'm just explaining a principle. Also, people say lots of things for marketing purposes.
Whatever they have or haven't said, it's really all the same to me. I still think this show is dumbing them down as actors. Which is a shame, I think we both agree.
To end it on a positive note - I agree with you that Off looked his best in Not Me 😉 And you have a good taste in shows - I took a look at ur bio out of curiosity😏.

I don't want to repeat myself in this thread, but like I said before - I don't mind him so much playing student roles as I mind him taking on childish cliche roles.
To everybody who's saying Ping's acting isn't as good as the other actors' (especially compared to Meen): I can't fully disagree with you here, but let's cool off for a sec and think about it realistically. First, take into consideration that Ping's only 19, so my guess is that he's been focusing on school so far, which would give him way less time to develop his acting career. Second, Meen is 5 yrs older than Ping (and maturity levels play a huge role in developing acting skills). Last, Meen's started acting a couple years ahead of Ping, and he has substantially more experience (even if just as a supporting character).
Generally, much as I felt that Ai Long Nhai was an acting cringe fest, I also think MeenPing are a good match, and we will see better acting from them both in the future. The Rebound is already light years ahead of their old shows in that respect.
I'm far from a good-natured viewer showering actors with praise, but I'd be equally far from clipping Ping's wings. Online comments can be unforgiving & nasty. Let's give him some credit for doing well at 19, with an older partner (a 5-year difference when you're 19 isn't nothing), in a demanding industry.
I think he wants the young roles. If you see him on Instagram he's always dressing in cute outfits with lots of…
I'm not them, so I can't comment on what they want or not, but I'm also not sure they have such an impact on how a script looks like. Generally the script comes first, the casting follows. Stars & investors can have certain demands from time to time, but if the investors collectively had decided to start with that their target group was younger (and hence the characters had to be students), I don't see how they would change that easily. At the end of the day it's business.

I'd say they should take more ambitious roles (not only exactly like Not Me, just on the same level of complexity) for their own careers, if nothing else.
Just saying but these type of roles, such as in Not Me are pretty demanding. They might not want to star in such…
I'm actually not asking for Not Me S2, even tho I Ioved the show. I just wish they gave us something more ambitious and less lukewarm than this. I'm sure they have a say in what roles they take...to some extent (knowing the Thai industry - somewhat limited), which is why it's even harder for me to believe that two 30(+)yo dudes repeatedly choose to play in...this level of shows. It feels like there is more to it than we know.

First of all, I get it, but it's been 3 years since then. More, probably, if we count back to when they had actually filmed it. Second, it's not like there are only two types of dramas: very childish and emotionally demanding. There is a whole plethora of other options.
yea i agree i think gun is just getting shelfed after not me and he has so much potential its kinda madenning.…
I'm not saying he didn't like the role, maybe he loved it, but in case he didn't what else was he supposed to say? That he didn't like his own character? That would've definitely sold the show and fared well with his employers at GMMTV🙄 All that glitters is not gold.
OffGun's strongest role so far's been Not Me. Both were good, but especially Gun excelled. And IMO he shone as Black more than even as White. Give him something serious, I'm tired of this cutesy BS. He's a 30yo dude for f*ck's sake...how much longer are we going to pretend he's 19???
Ok, this must be acquired taste, and I'm not buying it. That was the most annoying 1st ep I have ever seen. Personally, I just can't stand Wan. But I have to believe other people might enjoy it cuz I've scanned thru the comments lol
MeenPing flying high. This is what happens when you score a role in a series that's directed by someone who actually has some skills to show. I hope they keep up the good work.

There is even a meme for that.
