Can you please explain the plot of this drama in a little more detail for me please. I saw some clips and she…
For a brief summary, it's basically about FL's life presented in 2 scenarios simultaneously. One is City life where she would experience how to have a career as well as being romantically involved in the city way. The other is presenting if she chose not to leave her hometown and spend the rest of her life with her first love.
I think this was the third version of this drama that I've seen. FL is so beautiful. Satisfied with the amount of kisses rendered in this drama. A solid 8 for me.
Am not sure if this was a 3rd or 4th version of this storyplot that I've seen. But, so far I think this was the hottest version among them. I really like Ben Wang's character here. His only downside for me is that he smokes in this series. MC was able to deliver the steamy scenes so well. Kisses were on π₯. A solid 8 for me. this v. drama deserves a higher rating.
It feels like watching old school Kdramas. The usual ahjumma's and ahjussi's in town. Not really the romcom Kdrama for me. This was too wholesome and child friendly drama. And yes, it was too slowburn. Too much emphasis on the vet practice aspect. Overall, it's a 7.0 for me.
Aside from the high ratings, I was curious if this will offer a different stance among the other popular youth Cdrama out there. Honestly, it didn't meet my expectations. I rarely watch youth dramas as I prefer mature and passionate romance genre. I just check out some popular once out of curiosity. And yes, I enjoyed Go Ahead, A Love So Beautiful and Put Your Head On My Shoulder which shares almost the same plot as this one. Sadly, this was too slowburn for me. Like the MC became offical at ep.24. WTH?!! This has only 30 eps. Very minimal room for the romance to grow even for the SC. Honestly, I prefer Song Cong's character for the FL. I prefer his quietness and I think he's more romantic just not given a chance to express it since he has been rejected by FL. Not a fan of QiQi's character who keeps on insisting her love for SongCong that has been forced from the beginning. And obviously, Song Cong really doesn't feel anything for her. I felt he just needed a rebound after being rejected by FL that he tried having a relationship with QiQi since she was very persistent. Storyplot is very predictable. The sick parents trope and one parent died trope was overly used I think as fillers. I'd prefer if the writer focused on the romance just like the above mentioned dramas which has a way better plot than this one. I've seen ML in some dramas like FIYS, TFF and Sweet Teeth. Still, not a fan of his. Btw, the finale gave me a TFF finale. It feels like the style was copied from there with that farewell video of each character.
Overall, not my cup of tea. I've forwarded lots of scenes, specially on the parents issues. It's a 7.0 for me.
One main reason I check out Taiwanese dramas is because of its realistic approach. In which this drama didn't fail to do so. But, honestly, the story premise failed it for me. Another reason for me to check this out is because of Jasper Liu. He's one of the rare Taiwanese actors I liked. Maybe, he just have this unique charm that you get hooked to watch him.
Both leads definitely have the chemistry. But, Netflix failed me this time for not being able to show skinships, passion and good intimacy where they are good at in other dramas that I've seen so far with Netflix. This is the most wholesome show I've ever watched in Netflix so far. I mean, given that a married couple who's trying to have a child, not even a single kiss was presented. Like, is this a romance drama?
Another thing that's so off for me is to have a female worker who has a son and joins a for the boys nightout and even let his son be exposed to men drinking and talking about married life. Like, what kind of a mother is that? She could've find an excuse not to join or not to bring her child instead.
I admire FL's resilience for fulfiiling her duties as a daughter in law. I might not be able to stand that even for at least a year. ML's character is very nice. But, I'm just not into "Mama's Boys". It's so suffocating to watch how the mother treats his son in front of his wife. Overall, I prefer for the leads to have a divorce. ML couldn't even stand on his own. They would never be able to settle down independently. Aside from the not so nice Mother in Law, ML spends a lot of his money on hobbies such as Lego. Like, he can't even buy a car after being married for 4 years without children? There's a giveaway on the ending that MIL might have started to give them independence thru that apartment leaflet. Still, I don't buy it given her personality. Didn't like the ending either. If the writer wanted a HE, he could've opted for a mistaken diagnosis for the ML and could've been blessed with a child towards the end would be a better ending for me.
Anyways, a divorce is still the best way to end this drama. FL will just continue to suffer with the MIL. I think the colleague director/shoolmate would have been a better candidte for FL to end up with. I liked that part that he realized how he lost her. And ML, would have been better with the co worker since there's an instant kid who recognizes him as a father.
I'd give this a 7.0 I can't give a higher rating for a no kiss/skinship drama.
Did watch this for the romance. I thought the fantasy element of time travel and being able to enter a dream would add more interest to this drama. Sadly, I was kinda disappointed. Romance is definitely lacking. It focused more on the historical aspect of politics. I was hoping ML would spend more time in the modern world as well as FL. But, it turned the other way around. Not really a satisfying ending. Gave this a 7.0
I thought it was kind of "off" because they are trying to build tension that leads to this incredible kiss...…
So agreed! I kept waiting as well and like, where's that "Burning Passion"? π The kisses even look fish kisses to me. Thank God for LJL's abs that helped me stick through! π π
I've always loved Cheng Yu Feng in his previous dramas. Kinda disappointed not seeing him here as he used to. I mean, the kisses execution here are so weak. CYF is a good kisser and could portray steamy kisses so well. Sadly, I couldn't see it here. And yeah, the romance is so slowburn.

Have completed at this point. Ending was just okay. But, I really liked the intimacy of the MC.
