Some people like to have extremely high expectations, thus they can't enjoy( that applies not only to LOF, but everything in life)
It is better not to have extremely high expectations rather not to have any expectations, if you want to watch for fun. I have seen, expectations mostly disappoint, it is better not to keep expectations of anything ( my thought).
If you want to watch "as a critic" that is different.
If you are just a normal person, and give up the expectations, and see for what it is really, there is no doubt that you will like watching it ( provided you have the taste for it), of course LOF has its bad production, bad CGI, unnecessary dubbing, fake props etc. But the acting, story etc. makes up for it. But yes, if the drama is really boring and predictable, then just leave it.
Also, personal opinion, everyone has it, some people don't like LOF at all, it is their own view, their own taste. Some are haters who just hate the actors or drama, some are those who want to roast and critique each and everything that comes their way. Some don't even know what the drama is about, and just drop in and then complain. Some are those who are the actors' fans . They are all types of viewers and reviewers in this world. We can do nothing about it.

That's true, in Untamed, Lan Zhan was not a very expressive character, but here Xie Yun being cheeky, talkative etc. with some vibes of Wei Wuxian, has given full outlet to his potential, showcasing his great acting skills.

Everyone has their own choices, some look at production quality, setup, some look at storyline, some look at special effects , some specially come for romance etc. , so lots of people come with different requirements and with their own mind span and measure of criticism/appreciation, so there is bound to be disparity in the positivity/negativity of ratings and reviews.

Yeah, it is not the perfect wuxia drama to watch but nonetheless it is really enjoyable and good if we see it with an open mind. After all, there is nothing perfect in this world ( point to strict critics)

The romance and equal partnership starts to develop gradually if you keep on watching. Xie Yun may look funny, flirty etc. but he has great wordly wisdom, extremely strong martial arts and its knowledge(although he can't practice them now), logical mind, poetic, compassionate etc. which qualities Fei did not possess in the beginning, she was just like a fighter in a game . I guess you feel Xie Yun like a boy, is because he is weaker(& poisoned, his past is too sorrowful) compared to Fei who has strong and open character, she has faced no bitter suffering( getting beaten up by mother, that is not suffering) at all when she is in the fortress
He loved the FL from starting but it was the FL who was not receptive. He hides his suffering deep inside which few could see, only those who were extremely close to him, like his masters, and later Fei , Zi Chen could read him a bit too.
You will soon see how much compatible they are. The characters also evolve in dimensions from 2D to beyond as story progresses, like Li Sheng and Ah Fei, they change a lot and develop as well, living in the fortress, they were like kids, when they roam in Jianghu, they gradually become mature

Yeah, that is a bit unrealistic from wuxia point of view. There must be at least one formidable person who has been unbeatable but there wasn't till now.

It also depends on the fighting style. Ah Fei has different style than her grandfather although both use the same technique, she relies more upon direct confrontation and offense. Since she is weak and less experienced, not much qi , so she uses the power of blade to confront powerful opponents, rusty blades without any maintenance so break because they alone of course can't sustain that much pressure. Know that a powerful sword cultivator can defeat even a spiritual sword with a twig, because it depends on control, skill and absolute strength, remember the North Blade Ji, he had a strong spiritual power, which gave him great control over his sword.
For masters of older generation it was different, they depended more upon their dou qi , tricks like extreme speed, or cornering/overwhelming the opponent , using spiritual power to multiply the offense generated etc. rather than sword they were using which made them last longer. Plus, as Gantang mentioned, in the time of those masters, there were good sword smiths, so sword maintenance was possible unlike the times when Fei is.

When Li Zheng died, which was partly her mistake, she sinked in paranoia/depression. Also, the eng subs for those episodes have already come , I don't know where you are watching it. I recommend seeing Dramacool, it is free, till now 36 episodes have been subbed

They need "artifact" level blade/sword, no doubt, there are no good smiths in Legend of Fei. The writer may have been obsessed about it, maybe he broke his pen nib while writing many times. Haha!!
Personally I like Cloud Impelling palm technique of Xie Yun more than Snow Breaking Blade, it looks to be simple yet extremely overbearing,. If Xie Yun wasn't poisoned, he would have a handful of opponents in their entire Legend of Fei world in his time, the demons wouldn't have been any threat to him

Maybe Ying Hecong will kill her for revenge of his master and Big Medicine Valley. She really deserves to die and that to painfully, betraying her master, her sect, she deserves no mercy.

Legend of Fei is airing right now. It is going to end in around a week. Douluo continent will come out this Jan hopefully, not sure though.
Forgot to mention "Martial Universe", it is shared universe , adapted from the novel of the same writer as BTTH . It was nice to watch
