Her MIL actually treated her decently after marriage and they got along very well when XY knew how to win her…
Glad to know that ^^ Like... The drama is really good but it's a tough watch for sure so I don't mind spoilers. Makes it easier to go through the tough parts ^^
Her MIL actually treated her decently after marriage and they got along very well when XY knew how to win her…
It's so hard to watch seriously... I can't with Zhao Lu Si's crying... I wish they had put at least some scenes in the trailer in which we can see her make them all eat dirt but sadly NOTHING. Like, it would make the whole thing bearable.
I read a story of a girl on reddit whose parents' were favoring their eldest daughter. Long story. But in the end, the young one ended up having a marriage without her parents (her older brother walked her down the aisle... as he had taken some distance from the family due to the same issue) Long story short, her sister wanted to have her marriage at the same venue as the younger sister who had booked it 3 years before. Then she tried to pressure her sister to let her use the place for her marriage, contrary to what she had agreed on with her future husband-to-be, who told her it was not reasonable to ask for it. The parents agreed to put pressure on the younger sister who ended up breaking down and throwing at them a whole long list of grievances she had accumulated for years... to which they had nothing to say because obviously they knew they were wrong.
Then her sister threatened to crash her wedding and told her parents, they wouldn't see them anymore if they went to her marriage. She ended up trying to really crash the wedding but the younger sister was prepared and the crazy was intercepted and brought to the police.
The crazy sister's marriage also fell through... Seeing how much of a b*** his future wife was, the husband-to-be was happy to flee ( and actually stayed in contact with the younger sister). On top of that, since she was already planning to be a stay-at-home wife, the sister had already quit her job... So she ended up jobless back to her parents and complaining that her younger sister had ruined her marriage. According to the few news the younger sister had, her parents currently did't look great as they're very tired caring for their grown-ass daughter.
Given how much of a psycho her sister is, the younger one cut all contacts with her family (except her brother and one of her aunt), and changed state. She actually got pregnant during her honeymoon and became mother of a little boy, who obviously at the time of the post, never saw his grandparents.
Apparently the older sister got very sick as a child which led to this twisted relationship even though she had long been cured.
ANYWAY, here it doesn't seem to me that the older sister is a bad person... But she sure doesn't want to acknowledge that her parents aren't treating their youngest the same way they do her.
As sad as it is for their relationship, I'm glad Yan cut ties with her. Being involved with her, means, having to deal with her parents, and who wants that?
Her MIL actually treated her decently after marriage and they got along very well when XY knew how to win her…
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL But now I have to see Yan's shitty parents. on top of the monster in law? GEEEEEEEEEEEEEZUSSSSS. Can this girl catch a break? My poor heart can't handle it.

Yeah but... how much screentime do I have still suffer from the monster in law? That's my question. It's 3 episodes in, and we've spent more time with her Mama from Hell than with her husband to be. I just want to know in which episode we spent MOST of the time without the monster in law.
Until which episode is Xu Yan tortured by her monster in law? I'm on episode 3 and I'm starting to wonder if the FL is marrying her Mister Right or her mother...
I don't think any man is worth all that hassle, but again I come from a "normal" family I guess my sense of self-worth is probably higher. Truly heartbreaking to see such a hardworking girl being trampled on by literally everyone just because of her modest background.
I don't really understand what pride there is to take in being born with a diamond spoon in one's mouth. You never worked for anything, everything's been served to you on a sliver plater. Seems to me all these efforts to make the FL feel like sh** is simply because they all know they don't deserve their privileges and they're projecting their own anxieties.
The dubbing from this short is actually different from the one in the drama. I watched it immediately after finishing the drama so Xue Fangfei and Duke Su sounded pretty weird. Apart from that... well. it feels like they're applying some Band-Aid to the wound opened by the last 10 minutes of the drama... which I can't forgive and have decided to forever forget.
Instead of this short... I'd rather they remove the useless butchery of the last 10 minutes. It didn't ruin the show for me, but it sure did leave a very bitter aftertaste that is gonna take a while to forget.
As for this short... Well like most extra short episodes I've seen from every C dramas so far, it feels forced and useless, and not at all on par with the masterpiece it was derived from. It's pure fanservice... but not necessarily the best kind.
Well... One of the most amazing show I've seen for the past few years... ALBEIT FOR the last 10 minutes. It didn't ruin the show but it did leave a very BITTER aftertaste. Very Chinese that. As if there weren't enough tragic stories in this drama but whatev'.
I don't know if I'll ever rewatch this though... I just feel very emotionally drained after watching this, I definitely need something VERY sweet to counterbalance. On one side, it's a very satisfying ending ( if you Men in Black yourself the last 10 minutes) on the other, emotionally and plot wise, it was so many things all the time that I'm just left very tired.
It took almost two months to finish because I needed to pause regularly the show. I couldn't bear the intensity. I don't know if I have in me to re-experience all of that one more time... Maybe in 10 years, who knows?
Can't help but rewatch repeatedly the last scene of episode 6... My Gowd! This is why good direction and cinematography always beats all these makeout session in Western shows.
They showed SO LITTLE, and yet my heart was beating like crazy... You could feel Sasin's heart beating like a drum, louder than the music. I NEED NEXT WEEK NOW!
I just love thi serie, and love the 3 main characters…. the only thing that I don’t like is the grandmother,Idk…
Lol, so true ^^ But if you check her page, she's actually 70 years old. This being said my father is older and my mom is close to that age as well, and they both don't speak like that. This actress acts like she's 100 or something... But she doesn't have that many scenes so it doesn't bother me much.
So because Sasin NEEDS to see Saen I guess, he followed both families to a resort and took Saen out of his room for a little excursion, at night, on a small boat... Because Why not? Of course the boat's engine broke down in a middle of a thunderstorm, so they had to abandon ship and swim back to the beach... Of course there's an ad cut for the BEST scene coming but I disgress.
So Basically both fathers are making sure Sasin and Saen don't spend time together. Also Pin is aware that Saen wants to stop the marriage from happening, but she tells him she understands... Might be because they haven't spent enough time together but she's sure he'll come to like her as she does after a while ( basically what she told Sasin in episode 5)... So anyway, all of that is happening when both families have gone to a resort together - without Sasin of course.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT Of course Sasin came secretly.
Really heartbreaking episode so far but I've got to say, it's "nice" to see Sasin being in pain for how Saen is being treated. FINALLY, he starts to understand how much pressure Saen has been under.
Saen's father just let the cat out of the bag! It's in a roundabout way but well, Sasin knows that Saen is gay now. Well, I think he's acting like he didn't understand but he probably knows deep down the meaning of Saen's father's words.
The ad cuts make this live watch pretty stressful 😱
Oh my God... This is such a heartbreaking scene... Poor rabbit needs a hug... The father literally spilling his son's secrets in front of the man he fell in love with... Truly awful...
Just him?
EDIT: Ok, at least it was on the right finger for the marriage.
Anyway I can't wait to see them all GROVEL and REGRET. Hopefully it will happen. They better deliver on that front otherwise I'm gonna sue Tencent!

Still better than nothing I guess.

I NEED NEXT WEEK NOW!
Also I WAS RIGHT, I KNEW IT... regarding a certain question raised further below.
And finally... The preview is not angst free... But it's not all that dark... Looking forward to next week. The wait is gonna be excruciatingly long.

I might not survive this episode ðŸ˜
