Thank you for your kind message. Fortunately for me, it's been over 20 years now. I still face some consequences in my private life but I have no resentment and hate. That's wasted energy on people who don't deserve it. I try to make my life as positive as possible though ^^
But King of Pings... Seems to be too painful. It's very important for me, that I'm left with positive feelings when watching a show... particularly when it's that type of subject but that's obviously because it hits very close to home >_<
Flower of Evil ( with romance ), Black Out , King of Pigs , Mouse , Doubt , Memorist , Big Mouth ,The Guest ,…
Yeah... I'm more wary now to be honest about King of pigs. I've gone through bullying myself ( though not the degree I've heard the Glory portrays) so that's definitely the type that really depends on the drama personally. But, yeah. Unfortunately, you never forget what you've been through, and it does have heavy consequences on one's personal life. I don't care what these people became but forgiveness is something they definitely don't deserve. That type of dirtbags have no sense of shame nor guilt anyway, they're exactly the type that end up harassing and bullying their colleagues when they're older. As usual, it's always victims that pay the heavy price, hence the fact these revenge plots are so popular...
I guess im just one of the few people (as compared to the comments) who actually enjoyed this drama.. yes I agree…
People not liking it seems to be the most active at present but the overall rating is still 8.6 so I'd say the silent majority is overwhelmingly still enjoying it. There's quite a lot of plot holes and the chairwoman is a bit too cartoonishly evil for my taste, but given she's no longer in control of the situation she's not as unbearable as she used to be. It is a fun show even if the last 2 episodes were more serious ( which duh normal given it's ending this week) I'm also expecting the ratings to go slightly upward once it ends next week given the majority of viewers rate once they've seen all episodes.
Some people might not give this a try given the atmosphere in the comment section... But it's their loss, no need to dwell too much about it.

Thanks for the tipoff!!! My Mum watched the Glory and she almost dropped it because she was really pissed at the beginning... But the end was satisfying according to her... I've yet to risk my heart on this show but since I know the end is trully satisfying I'll be watching it at some point (not now, I need to "heal" from Black Out)..
But I'll be staying away from King of Pigs which I initially planned to watch...
I was planning on watching Silenced but I don't really know. Usually my emotional investment for movies is way lower than series so I can handle very dark stories... EXCEPT when it deals with children... And Silence deals with children if I remember well so definitely not now... We'll see in the future.
Life on Mars is actually a very good show. The end is a bit ambiguous... But again I didn't read the novel. I think people who read the novels on which dramas are based on are usually disapointed... It's just impossible to put everything in but if you're going into it blind, you're probably going to enjoy this.
If you enjoyed "Tunnel", you'll probably enjoy "Train" as well btw.

Question.
Just came to this page to check what ratings I had given this show when it aired.
Back story: I dropped Black Out. Couldn't handle how dark the show was BUT I did spoil myself literally the whole show hence the fact that I dropped it. I wrote a whole paragraph about my feelings about this show on the shows page... But the bottom line is, the show is terrific but I can't stomach the feeling of emptiness and emotional exhaustion that comes the journey. The ending although satisfying doesn't leave you satisfied if you see what I mean.
HOWEVER. Out of all the dramas you mentioned, I enjoyed Flower of Evil, Mouse (though I HATE the message sent at the end that goes against all scientific studies and is just morally wrong), the Guest and Memorist.
Signal... is my ultimate favorite thriller and I can't wait to see its sequel.
BUT.
Among all the dramas you mentioned which leaves you with the same type of feelings than Black Out? I just want to make sure I avoid those.
Shows terrific but too depressing for me. Couldn't handle it.. Spoiled myself literally the whole story... And although the ending is the best that could have been for the ML, I don't think I'm up for the feeling of emptiness and emotional exhaustion that comes with this journey. I can't believe some people watched this weeks after weeks. I would not have been able to handle it.
3 episodes in and I already needed some very heavy dose of romcoms to refresh myself, though I'm sticking with some very colorful (to contrast the dark unsaturated color palette of this drama) happy go lucky anime at present.
Can't believe I'm dropping a show this good, but I've been burned by another drama that sent me the same "warning signals" before and I ended up hating it for all the very negative feelings it induced. This one falls into the same category.
Too good for its own good. Leaves you with too deep a lasting expression. I'm honestly just hoping I could forget everything.
Well Ohm. I truly like you... But that's another Thai BL being dropped. This show is just terrible and my patience for mediocrity has been running thin.
Why is there suddenly a lot of hate for this drama I think a lot of people don't like the tone shift from comedy…
Some people should watch some Thai BLs to really get a taste of what true mediocrity is about. Seriously past the novelty factor of the first year I started to watch them, it brought me a newly found appreciation of how good K dramas are overall. Even K dramas that I don't like have at least the production value going for them. Before, I think I never truly knew what was a terrible show.
I still watch them from time to time... But if I truly rated them the same way as I do K, C, or J dramas... Most of them would never be rated more than 6. In fact I can count on the fingers of one hand, not using all fingers, Thai Bls that I think truly deserve high ratings.
... I spoiled myself the end. I didn't spoil myself EVERYTHING but quite a lot. From what I've seen I totally…
I'm on the verge of dropping this... Not gonna lie I think the story is masterfully crafted... But:
1. I spoiled myself so much that well I know literally all the twists and turns.
2. I can't stomach these characters...
This is such a hard watch... Also like your comment, I don't think I'm going to feel good at the end... Just empty. I get what they tried to convey i.e Evil stems from very humane feelings but I'm not sure I want to go through that in my free time. I like stories - that includes thrillers - that leaves me with a good feeling and I don't think that's the one. What can you feel at the end except a deep feeling of emptyness?
Sadly I was so sure I'd like it that I actually bought a korean translation of the novel online when the drama initially aired ( because I initially thought it was a from a korean novel and not a german one, otherwise I'd have bought the English version).
Now I can't stomach the thought of reading the novel...Maybe I'll never read it? 10 years ago I read my first Stephen King novel... I went for "The Pet Semetery". Worse choice ever. The book left me traumatised. I've yet to read another novel by this author...
And then... There's the writer for this drama. I didn't watch Save Me 2... But I sure did try to watch Save Me 1... Such a tough watch, ending up spoiling myself and dropped it... The end... was just more BITTER than sweet and I was already having too hard a time watching this.
What to do? I've just finished episode 3... Do I keep going or do you think I should just give up?
Nah. I think I've answered myself. Dropping this.
I think this is a terrific drama... But this is not for everyone. It's too hard for my little heart. I already got another trauma less than 6 months ago ( One and Only - C drama) and this drama was FAR from being as hard as this one... I'm gonna spare my poor heart and drop this.
Actually for the story, her last drama as a main role was Evasive Inquiry Agency ( really fun comedy by the way)... Then she got into a relationship with Seo Taiji... It was a huge scandal at the time because she was 20 or 21 at the time and the later was a divorcee 16 years older than she was.
After the scandal broke out... She made herself extremely discreet in the media until she got married and had kids very early should I add. She basically flushed her career down the toilet due to this perv.
Around the same time that scandal broke out, Lee Ji Ah, his previous wife opened up about her marriage. Nobody knew they had been married, so that was the first insane news that came out and If I remember well, she explained she'd been in a relationship with him since she was 15 ( dude was 21 at the time). She got married at 19 and explained that she basically was in an abusive relationship, forbidden to go out, talk about her relationship even with her close friends etc.
Lots of people made comparisons with Lee Jee Ah's story with what was happenning to Lee Eun Sung, since after she posted a couple of pictures of them together, she basically completely disappeared media-wise.
Anyway long story short, she was groomed.
As far as I know they're still married... But she stopped her career so early ( and she had a very promising future ahead) it's very unlikely she'll ever manage to make a comeback if she ever wanted to.
It only has 12 episodes, and the finale is this week
Actually I'm indeed very disappointed this series is only 12 episodes 😥 Very sad... especially since I'm not really excited about of the upcoming K-dramas for the next few months... But it's okay... There's lots of shows I never took the time to watch so I'll be watching those.
It's just that it's rare that we can have that type of blend between romance, comedy and action. It's most of the time romcom's, melo or action/thriller. It's always either 100% serious or 100% comedy so when you can both... It's always a treat ^^
It only has 12 episodes, and the finale is this week
Err yes... I know.... reread my comment. It's a typo. I know it's ending this week that's why I said my rating will depend on how the last two episodes fare. Anyway, gotta edit that comment ^^ Thanks.
Its Gripping and engaging , although it left some emptiness at the end. it didnt feel satisfying although it ended…
... I spoiled myself the end. I didn't spoil myself EVERYTHING but quite a lot. From what I've seen I totally get your comment. So... I think it's impossible for me to binge this. It's just too depressing.
But It's too late I've started this journey so I'm going to see it to the bitter end but my God I don't know how you can trust anyone after what the ML has gone through.
Lol for the moving statue. I mean this show is silly all right, but shouldn't they have put some kind of rails to make it look like the statue is moving naturally? The noise made felt like it was gliding on a stoned floor but err the floor is made of tiles 😅😅😅
Well whatev.
Still very much enjoying the show, don't understand the negative comments and don't care about them either. Show's been consistent from the start to now. Premise was completely ridiculous and nonsical. There' s some crime/comedy/romance everything in the right dose. Most annoying thing to me was the school bullying but fortunately they didn't drag it. The only thing so far I'm going to remove some points for is the chairwoman... She's a bit too dark for my taste and I HATE her...
Only thing I hope is Episode 12 being a lengthy silly and fun epilogue ^^
So far... I would rate this either a 8.5 or a solid 9. That will depend of next week's episodes.
Just to say keeping a list of what you've watched has nothing to do with being social, just sayin'
Yeah yeah I get it. I'm not arguing, it's just that I see that type of comment from time to time.
I personally like to keep track of everything I've seen or read. I don't think I've seen that option here but on Myanimelist and Goodreads where I keep tracks of respectively my anime/manga and novels/essays I've read ( sadly Goodreads mostly is for English books and I personally feel extremelly frustrated because I read web novels in several languages and there's not a single place where you can list everything in one go) I've personally made my profile private. Don't honestly care to flex the dramas I've watched either.
