Not necessarily... I like casual watch but I also enjoy bitting-nail suspens when I'm in the mood...
Some OCN shows were great (Tunnel is a favorite of mine for instance) but others were too dark and violent for my taste... So personally, I'm not that sad about the channel disappearing since its more "edgy" content was never to my taste.

But I think it's more a financial decision... Crime stories are great... but a channel with only one genre.... Not gonna work long term. People like to switch genres. I actually thing TVING is going a good job. Quite a lot of good series coming from this channel for the past 2/3 years... But I understand it must be a bit frustrating if you're more into procedurals.

You can argue all you want about the proofs and not proofs or whatever.
Dude's a groomer who had a terrible attitude towards this girl, he's yet to prosecute the family for defamation. Everybody's been waiting for it... Still hasn't done it. That's the biggest reason nobody buys his version. Defamation is an extremely heavy crime is South Korea, you don't start allegations without being sure of your case... This individual knows he won't be able to prove he didn't go out with this girl when she was a minor ( because yes it was legal, but nobody in South Korea thought it was right and rightfully so) hence he's not doing it.

Even if you argue he waited until she was of age - and I've already expressed my opinion so I won't go back to this - it's still gross and wrong. A grown ass man literally targetting a young girl who has yet to experience life enough to make sound decisions. Something lots of men do.. because it's okay if it's others, it's another story when it's your daughter.

If that guy wasn't rich, famous, and good looking, he would have been shunned immediately period.

And let's be clear, same thing applies to female groomers. All of them are gross and disgusting and deserve to be put to jail. Period.

I'm currently watching it... It's enjoyable but pretty standard... It's good but not great.
If you want a drama with biting-nail suspens... that's not the one... But if you enjoy weekly investigations... It's pretty good and the investigations are resolved every episode and a half so that makes for a pretty laid back watch.
FL is a bit irritating in my opinion especially at the beginning but she comes around.

I didn't spoil myself... BUT I can pretty much the cliché for 1000 miles away...

I actually already had them... ( If I enjoy a drama I usually buy the books if I liked them, imho, books are most of the time way better - anyway, bought them at the same time I bought the novels of Hidden Love). When it comes to romance, nothing beats a good novel in my opinion... Also, I find a leisurely pace in romance books more appropriate because the "empty moments" are usually filled with the thoughts of the characters... something that is pretty common in anime but strangely not done a lot in dramas... I mean in dramas, you sort of have to guess what the characters are thinking based on their attitude or they show characters saying one or two sentences out loud or in their heads... but it doesn't have the same depth as the feelings described in novels.

Basically when a characters is looking outside/at a wall/at the ceiling (you get the drift) in a novel, THINGS happen inside. But in a drama, it's just a person looking outside. Sure you can guess that person is dealing with something inside... but since you don't have access to their thoughts, these scenes feel like fillers to me especially when there's lots of them.

But I disgress. Anyway, the only caveat is... I can't read them at the moment... I have a principle of not reading translated versions of languages I'm learning... I've been learning Chinese for almost 4 years now... but my level is still not good enough to read full novels so the duology is currently accumulating dust >_<.

I actually really enjoyed "The Blue Whisper" last year so I bought the traditional Chinese version (I'm learning both). The traditional Chinese version has 3 volumes... and 9 months in... I've finished about a third of the first novel ( I write each sentence in both traditional and simplified Chinese and make sure I pronounce them right before moving to the next one so that also explains that)...

I'm getting faster obviously... But needless to say... I don't think I'll be able to read the novels anytime soon, but I'm definitely interested.

There's a couple of barely touching that is considered "kisses" from the ML and there's one scene in episode 19 or 20 where the kiss is supposed to be deep but unfortunately instead of zooming out and playing with the angle, they didn't... and hence it's pretty obvious, there's nothing but a slight peck when they're touching because often they just don't.

I honestly don't care if there's kisses or not in a romance drama but if they show them, I like when these scenes are well done. So far, apart from Bai Lu's dramas, I haven't seen a single C dramas where they were good. In Hidden Love, they played with the angle well so even though I knew there was no tongue involved and they were basically moving their lips to simulate, It didn't take me out of the story.

Maybe the kisses in this drama get better after ep 20 dunno. I'm taking a break for it until I'm more in the mood to finish this series.

Don't get the hype. Show is enjoyable but I really don't get how it could get a 8.9 overall ratings...
Feels very draggy... Would have been better if they had removed around 10 episodes in my opinion... But again... I didn't get the hyper over "Amidst a Snowstorm of Love" either...

I think I'm probably going to avoid Romance centered C dramas from now on... They have good stories but they always drags things out for no reason... So far I'd rate this between a 7 and an 8... mostly because I think a 20 to 24 episodes at most would have been a better fit...

But I guess I'm among the minority.

PS: Good chemistry between leads but as usual with these C dramas... The kisses suck.

OH.... That's why he disappeared。 I was wondering why I hadn't seen him on my screen for so long given how popular he got since Delightful Girl Choon Hyang...

Surprised by how high the ratings is.
Don't get me wrong... I think this drama is really enjoyable as a casual watch. 1 investigation per 1 episode and a half... Nice pace.
But so far (episode 6) all crimes are completely separate from each other... I was in need of some casual watch that I could get into without feeling the urge to spoil myself and this one fits the bill.

I'm just... very surprised that the overall ratings is 8.7 when basically it's not the type of drama that'll make you agonize about what is going to happen in the next episode. It's all very laid back.

It's made to be entertaining and it does its job well but I would expect an MDL ratings of 8.7 to be a nail-biting type of drama and that's not the case.
So far I'd rate it a solid 8.

It's entertaining but there's absolutely nothing I haven't seen before and the story and characters are pretty standard.
It's good standard... but not extraordinary standard if you get what I mean. The absence of romance is a +. I like my romance but I don't like when they force it just because it's a k drama.

Also I haven't warmed up to the FL yet so I'm definitely not shipping these two.

Well I invite you the rest of the exchanges. We're not talking "real men", we're talking "dirty men" here... But the exchanges is pretty self-explanatory, there's no need to discuss this gross subject further.

Err We'll see. I know lots of BL watchers tend to only watch BLs but that's not my case. BLs is a subgenre I enjoy from time to time but it's not what I watch most. I'm also extremely warry of BLs overall especially those from GMMTV which I personally considerer pretty mediocre in general albeit for a few exceptions... So unless people rave about it... I usually don't bother. I'll keep your advice in mind though.

I don't really like to cut dramas in parts... I think I'll start from the beginning but if it's too boring I'll do what you say. When does the second storyline starts?

From what I remember Korean Military Service has been reduced to 1.5 years (instead of formerly 2) so given he enlisted on the 4th of April 2024 he should be discharged at the beginning of October.

That's a drop. Seems I'm not the only one who wasn't impressed but the boy actor is great. I've seen him a couple of time here and there and he delivers.

If he keeps this up, he's gonna get big.

Overall strong performances from all actors, great cinematography and mood but the plot sucks so...

I know still... Very sad... I saw a scene with the cop telling him not to be suspicious of people but I honestly can't see how you trust anybody after what he's gone through.

Yeah... I was sure it was an excellent show... My issue was more the way it leaves you emotionally speaking... Still can't get over it btw... I've been sticking with romance and anime since then.

Yeah I know... That's why I was really excited when I started it... Well, that wasn't "it" for me but on a side note, it was great for GLs overall so I hope we get better productions in the future... Hopefully I'll find one I truly enjoy.
