This being only at 7.9 is criminal 😂 but if it was GMMTV or Domandi yall would eat this up. Y’all either…
Most people don't rate shows as they are airing but rate once they've completed it, hence the fact that the overall ratings is going down.

"don’t like plots where you have to more than 10% of your brain power or you’re just hateful. Opinions are allowed but 98% of yall never took an acting class, wrote a script or even directed anything in your life. "

Well. I've noticed there's quite a lot of BL viewers who only watch BLs... Hence the bar is set pretty low. But there's also a fair number of us who don't stick to the genre and mostly watch other non-BL shows with WAY better scripts where "more than 10% of brain power is used" and it's very easy to see how full of holes and lazily written this story was.

Also it's not like there's no BL that hasn't attempted something different: "Triage", "4 minutes" even "Be my Favorite" by GMMTV were science-fiction ( though 4 minutes is a special case) with way better scripts. If you felt differently, good for you.

Finally, I'm an artist myself, and I'm sorry to say, saying "yall never took an acting class, wrote a script or even directed anything in your life. " is no argument.

As an artist you perform for an audience, whichever field you're working it. Viewers or readers are not supposed to "praise" you for your effort whether it's in writing, acting or otherwise. They're supposed to judge the "end result". If the end-result sucks, it sucks. As an artist, you listen to the critics, see what you agree with and needs to improve, suck it up and work on it. People don't owe you anything, they're not here to spare your feelings, they're judging what you produce. Artists who care more about their "hurt feelings" or "lack of visibility" are those who never improve. You suck it up and you work and more importantly you listen to the critics because most of the time when you've spent lots of time on something, it's very easy to overlook the many elephants that have come into your room as you were working on your projects.

At the end of the day, keep on doing the same thing, you're bound to make people tired and lose most of your audience. People are forgiving to a certain point, but when it's the same c*** over and over again, well you can be sure you're gonna get "haters" calling you out on it.

Well I don't follow the actors or anything on youtube but I'm sure the specials you watched on iQiyi were also available on Youtube hence the blurring.

Be careful, there's a crazy fan around here who will insult you if he sees that you said something negative about…
Hmm... I don't know who that person is... but given the fact that I didn't receive any insulting comment, I'm guessing I already blocked that person. I'm personally a bit tired of members who are always ganging up on other members for being "toxic", "spreading hate" or whatever when you're just expressing an opinion on something that honestly has no consequence whatsoever in real life.

Don't get on the internet if you want people to agree with you. Sure you might not enjoy people saying they don't like this or that about your favorite drama or actor but err GROW UP, and leave the comment section if you have problems with it. I don't see where is the problem as long as people explain why they don't like the show in question and are being polite about it. If you feel the person is just a hater... Well, there's something called the "block" button, put it to good use. I've personally blocked around 40 people, makes the comment section very peaceful.

There was this "Candy" member that got on my back recently because of another commenter who sort of "launched the attack". That member politely expressed that they thought I was a hater... which I honestly don't care. Think what you want. Then that "Candy" member felt it was now okay to answer to my comments by being insulting and wrote two paragraphs about it.... Good for her I guess. Read the first line of both posts. Blocked her.
All that wasted effort.

I don't mind people expressing diverging opinions or contradicting me, but I have absolutely no tolerance for insulting comments, or people who are going to harass you posts after posts to tell you how wrong you are and that THEIR opinion is the valid one.

Hence... It's been a while that I've taken the very simple habit of... Blocking the member in question at the first insulting comment or overly argumentative attitude.

Thanks for the tip though ^^ I already blocked most of the most active toxic members on MDL so most comment sections are pretty peaceful ^^

Can't agree more with your review... though I would have phrased it more "nicely" but I understand the bitterness behind. There's only one part where I slightly disagree and it's regarding the "acting" part.

Lots of comments full of fangirls always praising how terrific BossNoeul is acting and the whole cast and blabla. And I thought I was the only one who thought it was often... not that good. LITA was flawed but I truly enjoyed the show and I think the main reason was because they shortened each story to only 6 episodes so most of stupidity that is MAME's trademark had been removed... But as soon as you make it 10+ that's were things go awry. In LITA, the lines were better... for Boss and Noeul's part, so of course it was easier for them to get into their roles and act their parts accordingly.

BUT here? I don't think you can blame the poor performance displayed entirely on the actors. As far as I'm concerned, it's mostly the fault of this terrible script. NOBODY speaks like that in real life with all these cringy declarations - the singing which happened in ep 10 and another episode... JUST NOOOOOOOOPE STOP THAT. It's HORRIBLE. STOP IT.

Anyway, that was my 2 cents.

I still personally "enjoyed" it mostly up to the 9th episodes... I was about to rate it 6.5... Than episode 10 happened and it went down to 4... Because I gave 3 to Love Sea and I just could give it the same ratings. Still better in my opinion.
On The Boy Next World: Uncut Mar 10, 2025
Final episode was the worse of the lot, but that was expected.
I enjoyed it in spite of its many flaws up to episode 9 ( with a slight drop of "like" each episode) but the last episode just killed me. The last threads of love vanished in a go.
Worst script I've seen since Love Sea which surprise, same author, the acting was particularly bad in the final episode apart from the NC scenes... BossNoeul aren't the most skilled acting-wise (and I mean no hate, there, they're just not, at least for now, they can still improve) but even an oscar-winner couldn't have delivered these lines well. That's how badly they were written. The script was what it was... Lots of good ideas, NO effort made to polish the overall story.
Yes, we're here for the romance mostly but the show was so cringe it also failed in the romance department. As usual, seems they think that as long as the actors are good looking and you give a couple of NC scenes, that's enough to satisfy viewers. I'm probably too old for this.
Anyway I wish BossNoeul a non-MAME drama next time.

Still better than Love Sea. So that's a 4.

I'll probably wait for people's comments regarding season 3 then. Based on that, I'll see if I engage with the second season in order to watch the following season.
Thank you again for your answer ^^

Thanks for the hint regarding the end of the season, it's interesting but not to the point of sticking through 28 episodes that I can't get into. I don't necessarily mind unrealistic situations but I personally think it has to obey the rules of the world in which the story takes place and personally I feel they've stretched it a bit too much this season to the point that I'm taken out of the story.

Anyway, thank you for your comment, it did help me in knowing what to expect and making a decision. Given your comment and my personal feelings regarding the first 7 episodes, this season is not for me so that's a drop.
I have a principle of not rating a series I haven't fully watched, I just completely erase them from my personal list which occasionally leads me to give another try to series I initially dropped because I forgot I dropped them and realize I already saw some episodes. It's rare but sometimes shows I initially dropped are shows I ended up enjoying when I watched them another time.

Maybe in a couple of years, I'll give this season another try... but for now I'll keep fond memories of the first season which I truly enjoyed in spite of its flaws.
On Under the Skin Season 2 Mar 9, 2025
On the fence about dropping this show... Finished ep 5 but I don't know. The first season was nonsensical but entertaining but this one? I think for me one of the appeal of the first season was the contrast between Du Cheng who was on the field and Shen Yi who was drawing...

So far it seems that Shen Yi is literally making his own criminal investigation with lots of far fetched psychological mumbo jumbo and my suspension of disbelief can only go so far, they've gone really too far on that road for the first 5 episodes imho... I mean, I know I've got to switch my brain off watching this because the whole premise is ridiculously impossible in real life... but the first season still managed to make it "somewhat plausible" within the reality of the show... But now even in that "reality", I'm struggling, which takes me out of the show and makes it difficult to enjoy it.

EDIT: Yeah I think the main issue is the "psychological mumbo jumbo". Shen Yi is an artist... not a psychologist. Sure he's more sensitive than the average person... but now he's making psychological analysis as if he were a professional when he actually never was introduced that way... That for me is also a complete disconnect with the Shen Yi we met in the first season.

I was really not a fan of the first story either... My main issue being what I mentioned above...

Also Du Cheng is playing tertiary fiddle so far when their cooperation has always been the highlight of the show...

So yeah... Here I am... I still want to give this show a chance... Since I've seen some comments about a cliffhanger at the end of this season which hints at a big "red-thread mystery"... and I'm curious about it but I don't know if I'll manage... especially since I have to struggle with iQiyi's terrible subtitles issues which I already mentioned in a previous comment.

Actually the Millenial generation's parents where youths in 60s-70s.No great-great-great grandmas or grandpas…
Actually no. Being millenial is pretty large. As an "earlier millenial" myself, my father is past his 70s and my mum past her mid 60s. If the story is set in the 60s, my own parents weren't even 10 at the time. Even if they were born earlier... So 40s, and were in their late teens, early 20s in the 60s, well, they wouldn't have millenial kids them... That would be the previous generation... Those born in the 70s. And we're talking "early millenials" meaning I was born in the first half of the 80s.

Anyway @ShortCircuit is almost right.

It's actually not "grandparent's generation" but rather, the generation just after.

You don't jump from grandparent's to parent's to kids' generation.
Grandparents have their own youth, and that time period is a period when they don't have children... same after.

Millenials didn't give birth to Gen Zs, they're parents of Gen A. Boomers ( so my parent's generation) didn't give birth to Gen X but to Millenials. Gen Z's have parents from Gen X etc.

There's basically always a generation gap.

So if we're in the 60s, that's the generation just before the boomers, they're part of the "Silent Generation"...

Of course it also depends on how generations are divided which depends a lot depending on the source you use... but you get the drift.

The show is a mess
I wouldn't necessarily call it a mess per say, but as far as I'm concerned,it's lots of good ideas, but not the discipline to follow through with them and make the overall plot consistent。 If you start to think of the logic behind it, it just falls apart like a house of cards...
There's always some plot holes in any story, but this one has just as many plot holes as a swiss cheese and I'm gonna be blunt, for me it's laziness in terms of writing. Some people are probably going to blame me for my "personal feud" towards the author as they say... But I'll just do as usual, I don't bother reading comments from people whose only goal is to get worked up on their own and insult me, they're automatically banned and that's it.

Not understanding the nuances of a character doesnt make it caveman mentality. Shes actually brilliant with the…
Hmm.. I would agree with you if the two Cirs weren't shown as being so similar. Yes all worlds are slightly different but P'Cir and Dark Cir are pretty similar, the only difference so far that led to all the rest is the fact that Dark Cir answered. This being said, I don't necessarily disagree with the psychological aspect of what you wrote. I think it's badly done, but yeah your explanation makes sense.
However I don't know if it's lack of time of just bad writing, but I read a comment where a person mentioned that too much time was wasted on some aspects of the story and not enough on the fleshing out on some ideas that where thrown in, and I do have to agree. It's cool to thrown in ideas but you have to follow through with them.
Because so far, lots of things just don't make sense and given the fact we only have one episode left, I doubt we'll get satisfactory answers for all of those. Some viewers might not consider these aspects as important as some members wrote above, but I disagree strongly with that point of view.
