I'm glad I don't have any social network. The only place I interact a bit online is here so I really had never heard of it. Fun fact: I actually bought the books on Google play... not knowing what it was but because these were books in traditional chinese easily available in a digital format online without having to go on a chinese speaking website ( complicated at present for me) to register a new account... and they sold it with a bargain ^^ I don't speak Chinese but it's one of the many languages I'm learning so I thought, once my level is better I'll read these books.

It's only when I started to watch this drama that I realized what it was. It was a trilogy... and the covers looked pretty serious so I though... " Isn't it that?"

So needless to say, I had absolutely no clue where we were going with that one, so I was REALLY surprised when I realized it was about aliens all along ^^

And now I'm back under a rock until I'm either:
1. Capable of reading the books
2. Season 2 comes out.

I'm not. Do I hate MAME's WRITING. Err yes. I don't know her personally so nope I don't bother with needless hate towards a person I don't know but you're free to think that I think otherwise. I honestly really don't mind.

Maybe you find her writing has improved... Well it's better than the rest I've seen sure, but still bad in my opinion. You're free to think what you want. I don't mind people disagreeing.

I'm still watching the show. If you really read all my comments, you'd have seen that so far I'm planning on giving this one a 7.5 ( that will depend on the last episode obviously) based on how entertained I am...mostly by the actors though I think there's quite a lot to say about the writing but I've made my point enough times already, no need to add insult to injury again.

Why would I want people to agree with me? We're all anonymous nobodys online, what's the point? Waste of time and energy. It's important to agree with your entourage IRL on CERTAIN topics but not on DRAMAS with anonymous people you don't live with. Anyway...

Yeah well. The point of my post was that that person is probably not lying, but there's no way of proving it unless they create a forum thread with screenshots of pages taken when they're connected and when they're not connected, which hopefully this person was sane enough not to bother doing. Petty arguments on Internet are not worth all that hassle.

You do have a point with your explanation... BUT that doesn't change the fact that it was poorly written. Because though you do have a point, in that case how come the other Cir that answered Phu was happily with his other half?

He didn't ask himself questions. When he got that stuff in the class, he immediately answered because he saw before another parallel life where he met Phu 10 years later. The mother problem was never taken into account. In fact it's not even talked about between this Cir and the Cir we follow.
If she was such a huge threat, that should have been the first thing addressed between both: How did this Cir handle the mother problem? especially since it seems their lives and personalities are the closest compared to other Cirs.
How come he was able to go out with Phu SINCE HIGH-SCHOOL without Phu getting hurt?

There might be a proper answer to that, but the show has failed to show it so far.

So far we've seen that the "Happy Cir" is stuck in that white room so logically another Cir should be with his Phu. Our Cir did meet his Phu and his Phu took a couple of minutes to realize this Cir wasn't his Cir... But in that case, that would mean that his Cir is still with him most of the time so how come do we always see him in that white room? Unless there's some additional time thingy going on... and time stops in that room... so his Phu doesn't realize this Cir is not with him...WHICH wouldn't make sense again because time still flew when our Cir was stuck in it. So what exactly is going on with his timeflow?

Anyway, it's good to throw ideas but you have to follow through with them but what can I expect from a writer with such poor writing in the first place?

Even if they explain it at the end of this week ( and good luck to them because the amount of things to cover in the last ep is just ridiculous) that would still be terrible writing.

Anyway MAME should stay away from "mental health" because she doesn't know how to handle it. No matter the trauma you can be sure that is you meet "your other half" everything is going to be ok because you just need love according to MAME.

It's definitely caveman mentality. But caveman mentality can be a kink people enjoy when DONE WELL. I mean how many overly possessive and obsessed, stalkish type of male leads are there in heterosexual romances?
Everybody knows it's wrong, but when it's well written, even if you know the ML is a red flag you would NEVER go out with IRL, we're still rooting for the couple. It's fiction, so anything goes if you know how to sell it.

BUT in BLs, the tolerance for BS writing is pretty high. I mean as much as I love Kinnporsche. one character ended up with his rapist. That part was better handled in the show... still wrong and I haven't read the novel yet but Kinn is basically way worse from what I've read. I've leafed through some scenes in volume 1 and well, let's just say that there's some lines Kinn crossed that just makes it impossible for me to root for them even accepting from the get go that this is not gonna be an acceptable relationship.

However MAME's writing is so terrible, she doesn't know how to "sell toxicity" right. He's "just stalking", no rape, no acting on anything. So pretty tame in the red flag department, yet the writing just...

Only watching another MAME drama if it's BossNoeul ( BUT JUST PLEASE NO), any other pair and it's a definite NO ( unless it's OffGun but that's never gonna happen hopefuly).

BUT now that I've seen your comment... I'm really curious about how cringe that one is ^^

It's rare that I end up finishing a show just for the actors.

I mean it's not the summum of mediocrity (I've seen way worse by MAME let's be clear) but the dialogues and interactions feel like it's been written by a 13 years-old girl who never had any relationship... which would be okay if this show was intended for 13 year-olds. The two female friends of Phu just piss me off. They don't behave like normal friends, they're behaving like annoying mothers and their whole existence in this show is to highlight "Phu"s fragility" to appeal to the "protective seme" aspect of Cir. Apart from worrying about Phu they have NO personality whatsoever. Even that idiot Achi is more grounded. He at least sleeps around which means his life doesn't revolve around Phu which is what a normal character should feel like. These two though just... Every time they open their mouths I'm like "please get a life" . And I'm NOT gonna talk about the fiancée and the mother. I WON'T.

This being said this show highlights the "beauty of fiction".

1. WTF? Gimme the creeps... Thank God, I discovered the truth in time. Gotta change my identity and move abroad, that dude needs serious therapy.

2. No way! I didn't know he loved me THAT MUCH. I'll probably never meet anyone who loves me like he does. It's cute how he stalked me for the past 4 years because he was too shy to talk to me. It makes me love him even more.... But he lied so for the sake of drama, dramatic reconciliation, cheesy declarations of love under the sunset and some NC boungabounga scenes (hopefully), let's separate for... one episode. ==> MAME answer.

I'd say objectively, that I'd give that type of show a 3.5 usually. It's complete nonsense at this point and the writing which wasn't good in the first place has been going down the drain since we passed the middle point of this show.

Yet strangely I cannot dislike it even if I've raised my eyebrows so high so many times that they're literally stuck to my hairline.

"Prêt à manger" is a French expression meaning "Ready to eat" so I immediately checked your profile to see if you were French and I was living under a rock since I never saw that Quizno brand anywhere... But nope. I did watch a couple of episodes of Beautiful Gongshim and also Jealousy Incarnate in its entirety but I really mustn't have paid attention because I didn't notice. But I never heard of "Prêt à manger" here either so there's that.

We don't have lots of product placements if any in France as well... But unlike England, most of our series suck. I mean they SUCK real bad apart from those that have been financed by Netflix and the rest (according to people, personally I've completely given up almost 30 years ago so I can't really say.

Anyway financement here comes from a system which name I forgot which consist of channels/streaming websites etc. having to invest part of their earnings into French series/movies. If you go to the cinema in France, part of your ticket price also serves as a source of financement for French cultural production. I don't really know much about the system in place but basically, it's a "give-give" type of system.

This being said I did go to England... 20 years ago ( my God, time really does fly when you're past 18 years old) ANYWAY. I tried watching a 1 hour and a half movie there.

FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I've NEVER in MY LIFE seen as much adverts in such a short amount of time. there was literally ad-breaks every freakin' 15 minutes. GEEZ. Movie started around 9 pm Don't remember the exact time... But by 11:30 it still hadn't finished.
I ended up going to sleep. At that time I really wondered why people weren't rioting in the street because just, NO WAY.

But again, it was a different time. Internet was just starting to get used, streaming didn't exist and downloading a 20minutes anime in the "highest quality" ( which was 720p at the time) with a size of around 150 to 200 Mo took between 20 to 30 minutes for the fastest connexions.

So people would just bear with it I guess.

In France lots of ads as well but for a 2 hours movie, you wouldn't be able to have more than a single ad break of around 10 minutes.
I don't know if that has changed since I gave up on TV entirely for more than 20 years now ( what's the point when you've got Youtube - with adblockers of course - streaming websites, BOOKS and Video games? Seriously the appeal is lost on me) but I doubt we'll ever reach what I witnessed in England, which is a crime against viewers as far as I'm concerned.

7 minutes in Ep 9 and I'm dead and deceased by the CRINGE. WTF with those lines!!!! GEEEEEEZUS!
I'm outta here. Be watching the rest of the episode tomorrow. Feeling too cold due to too much goosebumps.

For the heart fluttering though, it has been mentioned in another comment but you have to remember that she first met him when he was "posing as an adult" , dude is also not acting like a proper teenager either so I find it personally normal her brain can't compute at present and she has the reaction she should have which is to try to put back some proper boundaries although she fails at it because viewers need their romance and so romance is served ^^

She knows... The problem is not that she doesn't know... The problem is that she brushes it away because compared to all the others Ye Na is "nice" so she still sees her as "a friend" when in fact she isn't. However from a personal perspective, Yu Jeong got into the student's council thanks to Ye Na and I guess better have "a friend" who treats you like a maid than be like Dong Min, a loner who was bullied (if it wasn't for Hae Song he's still be at the bottom of the students' hierarchy scale).

That's where the issue lies. But I agree she probably doesn't want Hae Song to tell her parents she's basically treated like dirt.

Very simple. If a user blocks you, you can no longer see that user's posts which includes all the answers you might have written to said user directly ( by clicky "Reply" on their posts). You can also no longer access the page of the user in question hence if you didn't pay attention to the nickname of the person who discussed with you, you have no way of checking their names UNLESS you open the MDL page not being connected to your account and find the original post where you discussed.

You obviously can't prove to others that person blocked you unless that person openly admits it.

Just came here by morbid curiosity to see how low the ratings got to... and saw that although the show has ended last week the comment section is still pretty toxic. Sad.

And no. Was on fence about watching or not, decided I wouldn't bother after 3 weeks, and have no curiosity whatsoever. Too many good shows available to waste time on something people have overwhelmingly disliked.

There's romance. It's a the heart of the story... But it's a lot of looks for afar for valid reasons. Also I'm not a big melo fan myself but there's some thriller element in it so I really enjoyed it if that can help.

Makes me want to rewatch it again.
