Not to nitpick or anything... But I think you meant "My Love from the stars" instead of "Crash Landing on You"…
It's obviously a lot of crap. This idea of selling to the public a marriage "in the US" is in fact for it to be difficult to check since it's abroad. She was being pressured for money, had a come back for which she prepared for months( that tanked unfortunately) at the beginning of 2024 but STILL took the time to go to the US, met someone, got married, pregnant and aborted?
This is honestly ridiculous.
"You and I both know that if he looked like the guys that get caught on "to catch a predator" aka not conventionally attractive, there would be zero excuses. But I digress..."
HA. Actually he doesn't need to. He just needs to be rich. In France, we have this actor, Vincent Cassel ( he acts is American movies as well so you might have seen his face - not conventionnaly attractive. Lol we don't have lots of good looking actors here)... The guy is a big shot here, the likes of Depardieu ( who is currently in the midst of being cancelled for sexual misconducts... I think there's some rape allegations as well)
After his first divorce with his very beautiful wife... who entered her 40s or 50s... Don't remember. He got married to a young French model of 21 years old... If I remember well he was 53 at the time. Utterly disgusting. He said they started to date when she was 19... But he actually knew her when she was 16... So sure. I'm going to believe he didn't groom her.
The relationship was extremely public. They made headlines. Some people made some comments but do you think the guy was cancelled? Anyway, fast forward a couple of years after getting her pregnant. They got separated once she turned 26. The divorce was really private.
Last time I checked, he actually got with another model, who looks very much like the previous one ( mixed raced, tall and lean, curly hair), 30 years younger. Got her pregnant as well. At least this time the girl is question is an adult... though I can't help wondering if the fact that some of his actor colleagues made very public derogatory remarks regarding his "taste for young girls" forced him to keep away from the 20 year-olds under.
Anyway fortunately French very well-known indifference towards celebrities' private lives ( not a bad thing should I add) is finally getting some well deserved limits. Too often here its " yeah, but it's their private lives and she's major now so who cares?"
Sure. As long as it's not your own daughter.
Seriously in 2003, Bertrand Cantat a singer from one of the most famous French Rock Band, "Noir Désir" literally KILLED his partner. He beat her to death. The partner in question was a very famous actress. Anyway he got condemned in Lituania for 8 years and only did half of his prison time. Dude is still producing albums and giving concerts. Strangely before he beat to death that actress, his previous wife committed suicide.
But it seems that FINALLY we're properly cancelling people... But not that murderer. Because apparently he's too talented to be cancelled. Utterly disgusting. I wish we cancelled, rapists, groomers, pedophiles and murderers as they should, but the French attitude is mostly "laissé faire". That's not necessarily a bad thing overall (honestly French people don't give a sh** about celebrities) but there should be a limit.
Anyway, I'm not keeping away from my K dramas for the moment just K-entertainment news. But I was planning on watching Queen of Tears and right now, I can't stomach his face so that might wait a couple of additional months.
Even if it was true which I seriously doubt, doesn't change the fact that that this piece of filth is a pedophile。
Seems to me that you're the one who wants to believe it. The guy's been lying nonstop since this whole controversy started. he didn't date her, then he admitted he dated her, the agency didn't pressure her, yet she got sued, she wasn't ostracized nor isolated, yet nobody answered her messages.
It's okay. Even if half of the public is in denial and wants to believe that smear campaign that strangely came out now... (why not a week ago) from the youtuber who's known to be a filthy liar , that dude's done. Also the girl was riddled with debts, but had time to go to the US, to meet somebody new, get pregnant and abort without her family knowing? WTF kind of nonsense is that?
Very convenient the "boyfriend in the US"... Very difficult to check if he really exists.
Support this pedophile all you want. He's done and that's all what he deserves.
There's no coming back from this. Some celebrities got cancelled without real proofs, then were proved to be innocent in the end, and still haven't come back...
This one though. The recording has been proven to be fabricated, the pictures obviously came from AI or photoshoots.
He's done for and rightly so and probably his agency as well. Good luck supporting this pedophile.
it’s only been about 5 mins and I’m lost for words at how handsome Seo Kang Joon is (it’s my first drama…
Lol I've been living in the same place for over 9 years and I NEVER saw my neighbor even once. For some strange reasons, postmen regularly put MY mails into HIS mailbox so I had to turn up to his house several times to get my mail.
Turns out he's working irregular hours + is often abroad so there's somebody who comes only once a week to take care of his things.
So yeah, very unlikely but still can happen esp. since Hae Seong is a secret agent and hence doesn't work on regular hours like Su Ah.
30mn into the first episode... And I think this is going to be a slow watch. Not because it's not good... but it because my God do I feel for the ML. It's painful. Might change if it becomes less depressing and he starts to fight back but for the moment. It is HARD.
I remember first seeing Kim Saeron way back in The Queens Classroom 12 years aho. She was lumped in with Kim Yoojung…
Not to nitpick or anything... But I think you meant "My Love from the stars" instead of "Crash Landing on You" ^^
As for the rest, totally agree. I literally saw her start her career and I'm not the type to comment either but dude's a pedo and trying to save his a*** with the husband story. I personally don't believe it one second. The recording is weird and this should have poped up as soon as the first story broke out. Seems like they needed time "to prepare".
Anyway, the whole thing is currently making me sick. I think It's time I take some time away from the whole thing. Hopefully in a couple of months, the situation will be clear enough for a proper report to be made by a true journalist instead of all that media circus because right now apart from the fact that Kim Soo Hyun is indeed a pedophile and that his agency pressured this poor girl, there's a bit too much of anything thrown by both parties to make sense of the situation.
As for Kim Soo Hyun, I personally won't boycott his past works, he already got paid anyway. I'm on the fence about Knock Out given how the drama is close to being wrapped up...
This being said, I can't believe people are making comment such as "it's his private life".
No.
When you groom a young girl, it's a CRIME. Might have been legal at the time you did it... but this is not the Middle Ages, HE KNEW it was wrong when he did it. You can look away and admit you don't care for the pedophilia because you want to want to watch your dramas in peace, but let's call it what is it.
Anyway RIP Sae Ron. Another victim of K entertainment overall.
People may not agree with me but I find it awkward to see a man in fifties doing romance with woman in thirties.…
Not really, you're not the first one who have said it. Every time this drama pops up on the main page I check again that they haven't changed the main actress. Personally, age gap only goes so far... 10 years is acceptable but 18 years? Honestly most women this age, even if they prefer older men wouldn't be attracted to a man in his fifties unless they're seeking some form of "paternal protection". I'm older than the FL and I still think this dude's too old for me.
Anyway, unless the age gap is a central theme in the drama ( for instance Witch's Romance starred Park Seo Joon and Uhm Jung Hwa, both are IRL 19 years apart and the age was literally the central theme of the drama), for me I'm sorry but it is VERY AWKWARD ( I would even go as far as saying borderline gross). Dude could be HER FATHER for the love of God.
At least the FL is past her 30s... Still there's no mention of the age gap being a thing in the main summary, maybe that will change. I sincerely hope so. I would have preferred Im Ji Yeon paired with Kim Ji Hoon (it's about TIME that poor guy gets a lead role) but Lee Jung Jae is riding on his Squid Game Fame so there's that.
Now they're both good actors... so hopefully they'll manage to sell it (with a heavy use of filters to make everybody look dashingly young) to even the most skeptical of us... But for now, I'm also on the fence ( and a very high one might I add.)
Not gonna work. Not the same budget. Also River Where the Moon Rises wasn't preproduced. It was one of this show…
They had to reshoot ALL the scenes the ML was in with another actor. It was a huge headache. They took a one week ( or 2, it's been a while I'm not sure) break to change the ML for episode 5 and on ( knowing they had actually shot more episodes) and reshot episode 1 to 4 that were uploaded on OTT platforms later for consistency.
Anyway, the whole cast and crew went through hell to respect the delays... all for a scandal that turned out to be completely false in the end since it was later revealed they had lied. Ji Soo could have sued their lying a** but he chose to let the matter drop as he's already been cancelled by the whole country and people are saying he paid the lyers to make a statement denying the reality of things.
Which just doesn't add up but whatev.
I think Disney + hoped that the whole scandal was just a massive lie, but now that so many proofs have come out... they're a bit stuck.
Just replace the ML like they did with River Where the Moon Rises.
Not gonna work. Not the same budget. Also River Where the Moon Rises wasn't preproduced. It was one of this show that is aired as it is produced so if I remember well, only 4 episodes had been aired with Ji Soo. This one is almost entirely done and they put LOTS of money in. I would expect given the budget, quite a lot of post-production involved. Anyway. Really not the same.
Oh, Shen Yi using art therapy and psychology maybe hard for some people to swallow, but as an artist, I got it.…
Lol I think it's more a matter of what type of viewer you are. As an artist myself... It didn't work for me. But again, one of the issue I had among other things was that he was never introduced as an expert in psychology and yet now he was behaving like one. Anyway. I'm glad you liked it. I personally don't regret dropping it, it was definitely the right call as it was obviously not a season I would enjoy.
Chinese netizens outsmart GM and lee jinho once again! they've found that the recordings was fabricated.https://x.com/translatingsk/status/1902345625838219549
That's what I thought. I don't know who paid whom, but they're clearly desperate to save their Titanic. The boat has sunk. It's time to apologize. There's no coming back from this, but at least he should try to get back some shred of decency in the eyes of the public by apologizing to the family.
Too much money involved. First season is already filmed... Second season is already half finished. No statement from Disney +...
Personal guess. They're gonna wrap it up as planned... and then they're going to shelve it for at least 2 to 3 years (maybe more) until the outrage dies down.
Doesn't mean he'll be able to make a comeback to the industry of course, I think he's literally screwed for life, after all this is South Korea ( though some actors have managed to make a comeback in spite of some sex scandals... BUT pedophilia is on a whole other level) but I feel for the rest of the cast and crew.
Btw, that drama wasn't even on my radar. Only came to learn about if because of the current scandal.
Dude, real culprit never take their own life instead they push others to loose life. Did seungri,Tae il, Ji soo…
Well update. Turns out you were right.
The law was revised in 2020. Before that year, the age of consent was indeed 13 years old. So basically anything that happened before can't be used for prosecution.
Hence, that pedo is off the hook I guess because I don't think they can legally prosecute his a***
Koreans are running out of ideas! Industry is juggling between manhwa adaptions and remakes.
Chinese are mostly adapting novels. Thais are also adapting novels...
Everybody's been adapting novels since the beginning of the history of cinema as well as remakes. Couple of years ago I watched a youtube documentary that was speaking about it. Turns out lots of movies I watched in my youth were actually remakes... I just didn't know they were because the remakes were more popular than the original material it was adapted from. And some of these remakes... were remakes themselves.
Now that Webtoons, Mangas, Manhwas, Comics... etc are popular Of course, they make adaptation. It also brings more sales to the original work.
I mean it's not necessarily because they're out of ideas... but it's a sure bet. When you adapt a story that is already popular, there's less risks of it completely crashing down (recently there was this "space drama" with "fresh ideas" that crashed and burn so you can see where they're coming from) compared to something completely new.
Everything has always been made. Everything is just a repackaging of old ideas at its core. Take any story and summarize in two sentences, and most of them will turn out to be the same.
It's not about stories being made out of new ideas... It's how about well written it is.
Dude, real culprit never take their own life instead they push others to loose life. Did seungri,Tae il, Ji soo…
Actually no. The age of consent is 16 in South Korea. If the other party is older than 19 (which was the case for Kim Soo Hyun), it is considered by law as statutory rape.
Hence the fact that that they're arguing about the age of Kim Sae Ron when they started their relationship, because Kim Soo Hyun could very well be legally prosecuted. Though obviously he could still argue that he "waited" until she was of age...
That might not be what the family wants since they knew and were therefore complicit ( though I'd argue that you can't really forbid a teenager to do what they want...)... but given how it completely blew over, the state regardless of the family's wishes could very well prosecute him.
Dude, real culprit never take their own life instead they push others to loose life. Did seungri,Tae il, Ji soo…
Oh... Well I don't worry for him. But as said. I don't want a culprit to become a "victim". He must remain a culprit, and hence should be punished accordingly but not through online bullying... Though I must admit that given how misogynistic South Korea is overall, I understand the strong reactions.
This is honestly ridiculous.

I'm in love with you by Homezone :D Undercover Highschool OST 6 (my personal favorite of the whole bunch).
