Preview scene for Ep 11https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O70-O5w_RLs
Glad to see Jae On aka Deok Su is finally working with Mae Hwa to bring Lord Cheon down... But I sure hope ep 11 won't focus too much on the revenge plot. I know the plot needs to move forward but it's starting to look too much like Our Blooming Youth, where we were advertised a romance centered story and we got crumbs of romance with LOTS of murder plot I didn't care about.
I can't believe Wen Jie did this. JEEEEEEEEEEEESUS. And she had been warned. Who is she to decide the sake of 6 billion people on her own? This woman is sick. Probably didn't care because by the time they came, she's probably be close to death anyway, not her problem. I.HATE.HER. F*** selfish b***
Can't believe that Shi Qiang turned out to be the best of the lot. Dude was the most annoying character in the beginning, but it turns out they're all living in delulu land, with all these science and alien talk and forgot you only have one life and one planet. Once invaders are there, you're screwed. Thank God he puts some sense into Wang Miao because I can't help wonder if he wouldn't have turned to the dark side if it wasn't for him.
Also, for being smart I can't just can't help wonder WHY they can't draw the parallel of all the people that have been decimated or went through genocide in our long History. That tells you something about what happens when outsiders who consider themselves superior do when they come to your house with their "advanced technology".
This being said, if it EVER happened, no way the world would be able to discuss together and gang up against the "enemy". We'd be too busy arguing with each other that by the time a decision would be made, we'd already all be at death's door.
The comment is literally for discussion. You can't expect to see only positive comments,it’s no fun that way
The problem is not people like you. The issue is people hating for hating sake trying to rile people up to join their "hate agenda" because for some sick reason, it gives them satisfaction to bash dramas for no reasons (arguably not a lot of that here) and rude people (blocked for me since I can filter them out here). Also idiots creating accounts just to bash dramas and say rude things to other members.
When the Star Gossip is a prime example of that. Their comment section should be closed. I used to come to see what people thought before starting the show... Then I tried to find positive comments, and up to a few days ago, the only reason I still came there was out of morbid curiosity to see how toxic it could get... Apparently there's no end to people's need to gang up on a drama and actors just doing their job, so I've given up. I was expecting most people to drop the show and leave that comment section to see the positive comments but NOPE. Still there. I mean if by episode 6 you still don't enjoy a 16 episodes show, maybe it's time to drop it and stop saying how much you hate it so that people who enjoy it ( even if they're critical) can have proper discussions? Not gonna watch it now due to some comments I read that explained some things that didn't sit well with me (plotwise)... but still I find it saddening that there's just no proper discussions visible there.
People venting their frustration of real life by being disrespectful and hateful in places that should be about discussion. If they have that much needless energy to vent, I suggest going to the gym instead of insulting other people.
Watched the scene but not yet episode 4... Kang Hee being her usual cold self. Not gonna make people like her based on this preview for sure. I'm probably going to wait episode 6 to be out to catch up or not I don't know... I'm enjoying all my 3 airing K dramas at present... Difficult to choose which to watch first between this one and Check in Hanyang ( to be fair, I think this show is better BUT Check in Hanyang has been a bit slow for 2 weeks now and I don't think it's a good idea to play 'catch-up' with that one, that might end up in a drop... so close to the finish line)... Love Scout still the best of the trio though, so it's watched as soon as it's out.
ANYWAY, we're reaching the halfway mark this week so I'm hoping for a change of dynamic at the end of the weekend.
Comment section is starting to look weird, but if you block the rude ones, it's not so bad... Thankfully this show is among the least popular so it doesn't look like the war zone that "When the Star Gossip" 's has become. Poor show has been ejected of the top 5.
BUT good news for those of us who don't have Netflix or Disney +: Most popular shows are all available on Viki. Viki's been having a VERYYYYYYYYYYY good 2024 year and it's starting great this year as well ^^ More money for the company, more good shows for us 😎
as a woman i hate the male simp they look so pathetic to me lmao, i think in a relationship no one should be a…
Well the term "simp" is mostly used by male viewers who don't like the ML being romantic. Any male deeply in love with the FL is a simp in their eyes. I don't think ANY of the romance portrayed with these "simps" feature FLs who don't love their partners equally.
thats what i didnt like in this too! I was plz just do a little. what was that? Even KBLs are getting good kisses…
Thank you. I mean I get it someone mentioned they were rookies... But I've seen younger rookie actors with better kisses, it takes you out of the story. I still gave this is a 10 in the end because everything else was perfect from start to finish in my opinion so I'm just gonna play the amnesia card for the kisses but man....
So I asked for the admin to edit the info... but now that I'm reading (loosely) the summary, the stories seem pretty different... Well I don't know... Bought the novels anyway. I had some money left on my account there so...
Will read this when I have the time... We'll see if it's completely unrelated... It's a BL though so them being unrelated is unlikely but who knows...
I REALLY don't have the time to properly read currently and I also still need a fairly heavy use of my dictionary when reading in Korean so I can't properly compare.
What are the names of the two main characters in the webtoon?
In this one it's 백지한 - Baek Ji Han who is a delinquent. But there's a huge difference in the prologue. They already know each other and Baek Ji Han comes from a very wealthy background. They both go the same high school which is a private institution founded by Baek Ji Han's maternal uncle. The prologue is told from the second character's point of view 윤인서 - Yun In Seo/Yoon In Seo.
Baek Ji Han causes trouble, skips classes and resolves issues with a whole lot of money since he's the only son of a very prestigious family and treats In Seo like sh**. In Seo attends the same school but the two aren't friends there. In Seo is the quiet timid type that wants to just blend in the shadows. Since his parents' death 3 years ago, he's been living at Baek Ji Han's house.
In Seo's parents were average people. His father was your classic employee, his mom was a librarian at the city library. Both were killed by the traditional trunk of doom because the driver was sleepy. He was in middle school back then and acted as chief mourner for his parents' funeral. That's when he met Baek Ji Han's mother who told him she was a long time friend of her mom and would like to take him in. He jumped at the chance since it was clear that all the other attendes were doing their best to avoid his eyes afraid of having to take another responsibility.
Ji Han's mom was clear that she wanted them to be like brothers, however when she first introduced In Seo to Ji Han, the latter said he wouldn't be "brothers" with a poor person. Bae Ji Han was as good looking as he was a jerk with flawless pale skin and light eyes. Mixed. Obviously. They were the same age, but he was way taller than In Seo which hurt In Seo's pride back then. He grew up in the past 3 years, but remained a head smaller than Ji Han.
That's basically the beginning of the prologue... The story starts when they're in High school like in the drama... From the image I've seen of the novel, Baek Ji Han is mixed, handsome and with light eyes...
But the background couldn't be more different...
So what do you think?
EDIT: Also... Got some additional minutes to read a bit more so here goes. Baek Ji Han always has a "forest" smell. He's the type to sleep like the dead. He smokes and drink alcohol... There's this scene in the prologue where he comes back home late and instead of going to his room, he barges into In Seo's, snuggles into his bedsheets and hugs him tightly. Then In Seo can't help but look at his good looks and Ji Han opens his eyes and asks him if he's sleeping. In Seo answers that he just woke up. So Ji han "threatens" him "If you don't sleep, I'm gonna kiss you." This according to In Seo is something that happens from time to time. That type of "joke" happened occasionally when they first met, but the older they get, the more Ji Hwan 'jokes' like that. The following morning, Ji Han will act like nothing happened and he'll be back to his jerk-self and In Seo will be back at beeing the outsider... even though In Seo can't help but wait for the time this is going to happen. But right now, without waiting for an answer Ji Han kisses him touching his lips gently with his tongue asking for permission to enter. Without hesitation, In Seo lets him in. Once they finish kissing, Ji Hwan is back to sleeping like the dead while poor In Seo is left with his heart beating like crazy unable to sleep and telling himself repeatedly that he musn't fall in love with him.
So err... Similar not similar. So many things in common with the drama... The cigarettes, alcohol, delinquent aspects... Ji Hwan basically hiting on In Seo and In Seo trying to resist but who can't help being pulled it... BUT VERY different background.
Note again that this isn't the full prologue. Again, it's a trilogy and this is the beginning of the prologue of the first book... So... I don't know. I'm not familiar with the webtoon... Only the first chapter was available for free in Korean so I really can't compare. The novel looks pretty good though. There's alternate points of view from what I've seen with some parts told with Ji Han's POV.
Ji Han also has a friend called 강은재 - Kang Eun Jae. In Seo hates him. Like Ji Han, Eun Jae is the only son of a very powerful family, the difference is, while Ji Han's family's background is some very powerful legit business, Eun Jae's fortune is rooted in mafia-like stuffs. Also Eun Jae treats In Seo like vermin. Forgot to mention that it doesn't seem like In Seo has any friend in that school. He's the only "poor" student ( I'm putting "" because Ji Han's mum is literally paying for everything), all the others are from wealthy backgrounds.
Ok that's it. I think I've given enough elements so that some of you can tell me if you think the webtoon came from the novel... They haven't changed the info on this page yet so...
EDIT 2: So I skipped Volume 1 and read one sentence towards the end of the novel where Ji Han has been hit severely and is clinging to In Seo saying that 'he doesn't want his mum to notice'... Also the webtoon page isn't clear. It says the author and artist behind the Webtoon is Hi Noon BUT it doesn't say if it's from a novel... Yet... Just same title, same story not the same... Dunno
Good God what happened to this comment section? It was doing just fine last week now it seems it starting to get invaded by people who don't like the show. Sigh... Haven't watched episode 4 yet... Too many shows to finish but I've been enjoying this show so far.
Don't care about people calling the ML a simp. Most romance I grew up in where stories where the ML slept around and the FL was supposed to remain virgin. Dude was ALWAYS a jerk and the virgin girl would "change him"... And I don't mind that dynamic, I enjoy my toxic male leads on occasions ( IN FICTION let's be clear about that and only when RED FLAGs are sold as RED FLAGs, not when RED FLAGs are sold as GREEN FLAGs *cough* Love Next Door *cough*), but find me one woman on this planet who doesn't like a man who loves her unconditionaly. It's escapism. That rarely happens in real life and romance dramas are supposed to sell you escapism.
At least in these "cliché" romance, the ML value their relationship with the FL. It's not even like anybody asked them to remain "pure", THEY made that choice in these stories... Also I don't see what's the problem of not sleeping around when you just don't fall in love with anybody.
Always this idea that it is easy to fall in love with somebody else. It's NOT for everyone and NO not everyone likes to sleep around including males, that's just a stupid clichés that creates complexes for those who can't "perform".
It's mostly male viewers who are making this complain anyway so who cares? Romance are mostly viewed by women. You can complain all you want, at the end of the day, the target audience - WOMEN - are satisfied with the "simp" character, to use the complainers' term.
I don't mind action movies featuring scantily clad women being seduced, charmed and saved by random muscle dude with sunglasses and kissing/making out with said dude after having met him just 10 hours before.
That's escapism for men, I personally find these women in these movies completely ridiculous, but I'm not the target audience, hence since women acting like idiots annoys me I don't watch these shows and I don't complain.
As stupid and unrealistic these women are, it's fiction, if the target audience like them brainless and admiring everything sunglasses muscle dude does especially when he's blowing things up, well so be it. These shows are not for me anyway.
But for MY escapism, I want the pure love story, the kind ML, the perfect secretary, the perfect father, the tough guy on the outside but kind on the inside , Seon Jae, the ML that supports and encourages the FL in what she does and protects her when she needs it without being oppressive, not the classic ML who expects her to be his brainless trophy with one personality trait : looking good, being hot and providing "Monsieur" with sex after his hard day.
Some are venting their frustration on the wrong genre.
Didn't believe this would ever come out... But the drama gives me sad vibes... It smells of tragic ending... We'll see with the full trailer but I might have to skip that one. REALLY not in the mood for tragic stories on my screen... And it's a pity because I love both actors and this one is sure to be only 16 episodes....
i had the same issue of feeling bored midway too. i read episode summaries for a few eps and then it picked back…
Yeah. Stopped the show for a while at episode 17... took it back up today and things are finally speeding up since episode 20. I think most people who gave up on the show struggled with the middle part because the pace is honestly pretty horrendous. I hope they keep the pace of episode 20 to the finish line... Otherwise I'll have to make another stop... which I sincerely hope not because the concepts explained are pretty complicated and I don't think it's a good idea to put this on hold for too long.
At least it's not a sad ending... Never liked his 'friend' with glasses anyway he's a judgemental ass***, the…
It's not that I don't wish Minase admitted it though... But it's a Japanese drama.. They tend to be more realistic so taking that into account, I think this is the best they could do to reach a happy compromise ^^
This is a adaptation of a Korean comic, so it’s likely. I can’t view the page without signing in.
Maybe it's because the novels are 19+ that's why you can't see the page without a proper account? I REALLY don't have the time to properly read currently and I also still need a fairly heavy use of my dictionary when reading in Korean so I can't properly compare.

The original was Ok... Not a big fan. Took me 3 tries before I finally managed to finish it... But I really liked Jes in the drama "4 minutes" so I'm curious to see him in this remake.
Still no platform announced? Really annoying... It's so EASY to find Thai BLs subbed in English no matter how terrible they are but you always have to jump through hoops to watch a straight romance. Really annoying.
But I sure hope ep 11 won't focus too much on the revenge plot. I know the plot needs to move forward but it's starting to look too much like Our Blooming Youth, where we were advertised a romance centered story and we got crumbs of romance with LOTS of murder plot I didn't care about.

But for MY escapism, I want the pure love story, the kind ML, the perfect secretary, the perfect father, the tough guy on the outside but kind on the inside , Seon Jae, the ML that supports and encourages the FL in what she does and protects her when she needs it without being oppressive,
not the classic ML who expects her to be his brainless trophy with one personality trait : looking good, being hot and providing "Monsieur" with sex after his hard day.
Some are venting their frustration on the wrong genre.
What are the names of the two main characters in the novel?
Dunno

So I asked for the admin to edit the info... but now that I'm reading (loosely) the summary, the stories seem pretty different... Well I don't know... Bought the novels anyway. I had some money left on my account there so...
Will read this when I have the time... We'll see if it's completely unrelated... It's a BL though so them being unrelated is unlickely but who knows...
Still no platform announced? Really annoying... It's so EASY to find Thai BLs subbed in English no matter how terrible they are but you always have to jump through hoops to watch a straight romance. Really annoying.
