Yeah... She's terrible in this episode. I had no particular opinion so far but honestly she pisses me off big time in this episode. Also she needs to stop hitting everyone. It's annoying. Her husband is a saint.
You've summed up everything so well i don't wanna add anything at all!At the end of last night's ep, we saw K'Thyme…
Thing is.. In both these timelines, Great was actually shot around the same moment, not exactly the same but around the same time... So even though we see Tyme running to the hospital, we can assume that is he's been shot in the dark timeline, he also must have been shot in the "nice timeline" as well given what's supposed to happen, happens. Obviously I hope I'm wrong... But a third timeline would be nice. I had initially 4 of them in mind but the show went with two... But I don't care, they can give me as many timelines as they want, as long as these two are happy in one of them.
She liked him first!!! She just always denied she had any feelings! She said it, it's official. Everyone of you…
Feels real good I've got to say, especially since I felt it since the first episode. It was pretty subtle but there were some micro expressions from Seok Ryu that were telltale signs to me ๐๐
She liked him first!!! She just always denied she had any feelings! She said it, it's official. Everyone of you who claimed she didn't like him and it was unfair... Well I believe I can flex ^^ Thank you. Feels good to be right ๐๐๐๐
WTF? Does this mean that the "nice timeline" was just a dream both Great and Tyme had because they're stuck between life and death? Or because they're effectively DEAD ? THIS SUCKS!
No I REFUSE to believe this! I'm going to keep hope that by next week we discover that Tyme and Great changed their story in the world after death and that that change had consequences in the real world completely erasing all that shitty timeline with Dome's death and vengeful Tonkla. I don't care if it doesn't make any sense, I refuse to burst my bubble just yet.
Also Win.. Stooooooooooooooooopidest police officer ever. First thing to do when you get such a file these days is to upload it on a cloud, protect the file with a password you share with at least one or two persons so that if anything happens to you, the file is still available and can be released in the "wild". I'm tired of the " they took the USB drive trope".
This being said... As "sad" as I am for Great. I'm glad the show made these characters face consequences. From the first episode, I thought Great was morally ambiguous and I just couldn't root for him because of his general cowardice and shitty attitude. The way Great was depicted, it felt like things were "happening" to him and he was just unlucky, but nope: HE is the one who fled the scene when he first collided with a woman, HE is the one who got Title as a friend, HE decided to help Title get rid of the body and instead of calling the Police to the place where Nan was held, HE decided he was going to go commando style there. Why? Because he wanted to feel good about saving the girl ( big fail) and look good to Tyme who he fell for all the while by still protecting his parents' illegal business.
As I've previously mentioned, the only green flags in this whole series are Tyme and Win. Problem: Tyme has lots of bagage and Win is just incompetent. But let's be clear, almost all of these characters are shitty:
Tyme's parents: They've been killed so sure, they're victims on one side... But on the other, they were into the gambling business which is illegal. If you put your foot in such a shitty business, better be prepared for the risks and consequences that come with it and not cry over it. Too bad it's Tyme who had to bear the consequences.
Great's parents: Well not gonna go back on their case. But let's just say, I'm certain Great's father was pretty happy his "colleague" decided to kill Tyme's parents. He was able to keep fooling himself as being a good person since he's not the one who got his hands dirty. Dude! Gambling is all about making money by making people addicted to it. Some commit suicide. You're indirectly killing, you don't have any moral high ground over anyone. At least, you partner is being honest with himself: Dirty business, dirty person, dirty methods.
Tyme's Grandma: Well, she doesn't seem to have done anything after her daughter's death but let's just say it was because she had to take care of Tyme... But I can't help but feel she didn't do anything because she preferred to put her head in the sand. Makes me wonder who she was truly protecting.... Tyme or herself? I hate cowardly characters.
The rest is history. I feel a bit conflicted about Tonkla because as much as I understand his actions while disapproving them... I'm under the impression that he took pleasure in what he did. There's a difference between committing murder for revenge out of sheer desperation and killing for the pleasure of it and using revenge and injustice as an excuse... And I feel Tonkla did it for the latter so... Gah... dunno.
I don't even know for next week. Plotwise, I think we got most of our answers in episode 6 and 7 so there's not that much to cover in episode 8 except for the question of: Is the 'nice timeline' real or not or Are Tyme and Great both six feet under?
I'm not holding my breath for some sweet moments next week. I wish next week's episode was at least 2 hours so that I could get some sweet Tyme-Great moments be it in Heaven, Hell, or IRL ( because THEY'RE NOT DEAD, I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT!!!)... but this doesn't look good.
I came for the romance and got an amazing thriller so I'm not complaining... But after all that mess, could the writer please gift us with some sweetness? Great and Tyme are so cute together, it's just a pity.
What if Seok Ryu overheard something from Seung Hyo's mom that made her start doubting if sheโs good enough…
You know, I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if she ever picked up on his feelings but honestly I personally was convinced from day one she just hid her feelings under all that banter and bravado. For me, she's got feelings but for some reasons, and what you said might be a big part of it, she's just given up from the start and tried to get over her feelings. I mean if this is true, and you add that on top of the fact they've been friends since forever ( and we know the struggle of any long term friendship being at risk of being completely ruined), all the more reason to work on oneself to get over said feelings.
Also this is a K drama. At university, her boyfriend was Brian. The ex-fiancรฉ has another name. As for Seung Hyo, there's the ex we saw, but he also mentioned he dated other women.
In K drama land, that means, basically, they might have liked these other people but they never LOVED them since in romance k drama land... You can only have one true love.
I watched this illegally the first time because everybody was raving about it and I could find it no where... Now that it's been available on Viki for a while, I'm doing a rewatch before watching the sequel... So I wondered if I would feel the same watching this the second time around and near the end of episode 1... and I can unfortunately say the same thing I thought back then... For me the biggest flaw of this show is the length of these episodes.
I wish they had done more episodes but shorter. The story takes its sweet time, the cinematography is just chef's kiss, the color palet, the actors, the atmosphere... I love literally everything about this show... But past the 40 minutes mark, it starts to feel too slow... and I don't think it's the show's fault... Just that when you have a story that solely focus on two characters, a shorter episode is better. I have no problem watching slice of life dramas which are of the same or longer length but they usually have side characters with their own story within so you feel like "more" is happenning. But here, the focus is really only on Teh ( whose problem would be easily avoided if he just learned to APOLOGIZE) and Oh and honestly, some things are better when you just space things a little.
I don't know why the choice was made to do only 5 episodes instead of... let's say 7 or 8 with a shorter length but I don't think it plays in the show's favor.
This being said... I rated this 8.5 at the time I first watched it... 3 years ago... But now that I'm rewatching it, and with many shitty Thai BLs under my belt, I can safely say, I'm probably gonna rate it 9 or 9.5 by the time I finish rewatching this. I can't get past the "slowness" induced by that weird 5 episodes choice so that's a minus .5 for me.
The original network didโฆ MDL just followed. No clue who decided to submit the request to change it, though.…
Ugh >_< Thanks for the information ๐๐๐ I prefer the first picture to the new one but I agree, if it was only the picture, it would have still be ok but the worst offender is indeed this very loud and ugly text.
Okay so I never put this on my PTW, but I see it has a 8.8 rating. Is that an accurate rating so far, or is it…
I second one the comment. Depends on your mood. I'm like you I loved Lovely Runner, but thought CLY was meh. So far I personally like it... But it's really a matter of mood... Probably would find it boring at another moment...
Unpopular opinion but Rowoon did a very good job in the matchmakers. Absolutely nailed it
He's good in everything he does but his choice of drama is not always the best. Haven't watched The Matchmakers though so no opinion. Love him... Last drama I saw him in sucked but I sucked it up for him... This being said. I'm sorry Ro Woon, But I'm team Lovely Runner this year ^^
Bud, as an American you need to understand that tho we are the most powerful country in the history of the world,…
I think it's important to always make a difference between the politics of one's country and the people living there. This is personally the first time I saw anti-American propaganda in such a jarring way in a show (though I've seen way worse against the Japanese). Unfortunately, if you look it up you'll see that China is clearly closing oneself. One such exemple is the campaign to remove English as a compulsory subject. Something that's been started a couple of years ago: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/09/business/china-english.html#:~:text=Some%20businesspeople%20struck%20gold%20by%20teaching
English is the most learned language in the world. Even if you're not a fan of the US and its political system, removing English from your curriculum is literally closing yourself from literally everybody.
As for this show... The BL part has already been censored... Yet apparently it's been removed from the Internet. Anyway, sad for Chinese people overall. We'll see how History goes for Taiwan. It's not only a matter of micro-chips. This country is a true democracy, with its flaws for sure, but way different from China. For one thing, they were the first to implement gay marriage in East Asia, that already says A LOT about how different both these countries are.
Bud, as an American you need to understand that tho we are the most powerful country in the history of the world,…
Except. I'm not American. A good country knows how to point fingers at oneself instead of criticizing others. When doing a drama, nationalism can be understood when talking about History (without falling into revisionism) but for the rest, it's not tolerable.
EDIT: Also I'm sorry to say but they clearly state several times how America sucks. No subtlety whatsoever, truly despicable.
So... Dropped. Been stuck at the beginning of episode 6 (ep.11) for over a week and can't bring myself to continue. I LOVE Ji Sung truly, but the romance they hint at just doesn't feel balanced and I thought my love for the actor would lead me to like this drama and I was thoroughly entertained for 5 episodes ( or 10)... But nope. I just don't like medical dramas. On Viki the show is tagged "Thriller & Suspense" and "Crime & Mistery" and I think these tags are really misleading because I was genuinely expecting a thriller with Doctors at the forefront. For instance "Monster" the Japanese manga is a thriller which main character is a Doctor. That is the impression I got from these tags.
Boy, was I mistaken...
By episode 2 ( ep.4), I started to ask myself questions. By the end of episode 4 ( ep.8), I decided to spoil myself and nope this is very much a straightforward medical drama. There's some form of underlying mystery plot there but it's very very secondary if not tertiaryใ It's more an information we don't have at the beginning that is given by the end of the story but it's not like the mystery is resolved as we're watching it. It just gives some answer as to why the series starts the way it starts and explains some of the actions of the characters.
Is-it a bad show? No. I think it's a pretty standard medical drama with very solid performance from the whole cast but if you're like me and you've literally developed an allergy to any form of medical dramas... this show is NOT for you. STAY AWAY.
I really wanted to like this but I have to make peace with the fact that Medical dramas are a no no for me. I still want to give a try to "Hospital Playlist" since it apparently is more "slice of life" than "medical" but we'll see. Lots of people loved "Doctor Romantic" as well... but do I risk it? Free time is scarce these days you know?
I regret having wasted over 5 hours on this show.
Again, I'm not disparaging it. I just want to warn people who are like me and don't like medical dramas to stay away from it. This is not a crime/mystery/thriller/suspense show. This is a medical drama with a sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub crime plot.
On the verge of dropping this... It's not bad but so very average... Lots of people recommended it to me when the show was airing but meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh I'm bored and apparently the first 8 episodes are the best... But I'm at episode 5... Also the "cute atmosphere" is not doing it for me. Isn't it supposed to be spicy? I'm not expecting anything NC-wise but GMMTV has done edgier with "Only Friends" but I'm starting to think "Only Friends" was the exception. GMMTV doesn't know how to do "edgy" or "spicy".
Anyway... Still hesitating to drop this... I'm also a bit annoyed to see a doctor who literally almost doesn't work and a boxer that almost doesn't train. Makes a joke of their whole professions. If being a doctor gives you that much free time and earns you that much money, I regret notsticking to it when I was attending medical college.
I don't have any idea of what show to replace this with for now so I'm going to stick with it... Problem is past the halfway point... I'll have a hard time bringing myself to drop this even if it takes a nose dive from meh to dreadful territory...
Currently on episode 3. I'm really enjoying the vibe of this show so far. I knew I had seen the main actor at some point... and yes saw him in Autumn Concerto ( a drama I ultimately dropped for lack of subs when it aired but intend to rewatch)... But I'm a bit put off by one of the scene in which for emotional impact one of the relative of a victim is brought literally on the site where a victim has been left. I mean... Doesn't matter the country, I don't think any police officer would bring a family member to see their dead relative on the site of their murder. Doesn't make any sense.
