Yeah I think we all have grown out of the hallmark movie stuff, so I totally get the allergy... Maybe they should have put more flashbacks before she took her decision... But again the episodes are already 1h20mn long... they probably didn't bother due to time constraints.

started this drama bcs i really liked somin’s & haein’s performance in most of their shows even when i don’t…
Hmmm Understand your point of view BUT:
1. The flashback to the past was really short. It doesn't tell how long she lasted before she left. As somebody who has through harassment at work myself... I can tell you even with some colleagues on my side, it was hell, it went very far. Don't want to talk about it publicly. In the end, the perpetrators got a little slap on the wrist after over a year of bullying... and I still had to work with them every day. After all the shit they'd put me through, I couldn't even bare to look at their faces. Saying "Hello" to these pieces of filth was already an achievement in my book. Leaving is sometimes the best option for your mental health. Obviously depending on how severe the case is, you can also prosecute your company but then, the working environment is going to become even more hellish, and it's also going to cost lots of money on top of having an impact on your mental health and that, for YEARS.
Honestly, most people just give up and leave.

2. As for her career. I understand the Christmas movie reference. She is very competent at her job but being competent and taking pride in doing a good job doesn't necessarily mean you like what you do. The fact that she was ostracized at work probably played a part in her thinking seriously about the work itself.

If she truly genuinely loved what she did, she's had fought harder to stay... But obviously she didn't, so why keep on doing something that was so taxing? If she hadn't been ostracized, she probably never would have taken the time to look back on her life and quit.

On that front I can also relate. Always been good student, had a great career and still quit. Only difference is I knew I was going to quit even before I got harassed at my work. So when it happened, even if it was tough I hung in there for months without complaining, because I needed to save money.
Ultimately it took too much a toll on my mental health however to the point of causing accidents in my everyday life because I was just always preoccupied or whatever and I had to step it up and talk about it to my doctor at work and a whole enquiry was done including at my hierarchy who knew of the abuse but just didn't care.
After the prepatrators got a slight slap on the wrist... I still worked over 3 additional years with them. Best thing is, they kept on lying and backstabbing me and some of my colleagues. They were just more discrete about it. Before they would berate me publicly, now they would only do it behind my back. If I didn't need the money... I would have left as soon as they started to give me hell.

EDIT: Also. Instead of having a big career in a big company, you can have a very successful career in a field you love. A little story that I heard in my former middle school. One student, who was extremelly brillant wanted to take a professionnal course at the end of her 3rd year. All the teachers said "No Way, you're too good to become a "mere florist" ".
They called her parents. The parents supported her, which is like... incredible. The girl was 14. In France, only "bad student" go into professional studies at the end of middle school so, you can see how unexpected that was.

Well... fasforward 10 years.

She ended up becoming the official florist for l'Elysée ( the equivalent of the White House in the US).
If you're career driven, you're gonna stay career driven, doesn't matter the field. But this courageous girl knew what she wanted and went for it. Wish I had been the same instead of wasting 20 years of my life only to circle back to what I wanted to do in the first place.

Title Love Next Door Spoiler
I knew the fiancé was going to pop up at the end of episode 6. Based on the show's pace it was bound to happen. Also looking at the preview, they're going to start showing Seok Ryu's point of view starting from next week... and as expected, she loved him as well.

I'd noticed from the first episode that all that bravado she was showing was just a way to hide how she really felt.

As for people finding it boring. Well to each one his own. I think it's one of these shows that cannot really be binged because yes not a lot happens, it's character driven.
As for me, I really have to be in the mood because yeah, sorry for some of you, but I love my romance with its mystery and murder plots so romance only focused drama are dramas I tend to avoid like the plague because I find them boring as hell UNLESS I'm in the right mood and it's with actors I truly love...

Which is the case here. I'm very much enjoying the show so far and glad we're getting into jealousy mode next week. It's very tropey and I'm digging it.

People have the right to think the show's boring and say it because others would benefit from seeing diverging opinions before spending their precious free time on something that is definitely not for them.

The fact that they don't like it is not gonna ruin for you guys, so CHILL!

Struggled to find proper subs when it aired so I dropped it at some point... But just saw that it's available on Viki...
Well. Time to finally watch this classic in its entirety I guess ^^

It doesn't help when Hae In is in his "cute boy next door" look next to her. Tracksuit and full fringe.
True!

Agree, glad it wasn’t Chris. The ex fiancé is sure to return. Wondering how the writers will tell her side…
Hmm... Personally, I think it's more a case of I'm in love with my best friend but it's complicated because we've known each other for years... So I end up going out with somebody I have a crush on. Like. You can be attracted to somebody else all the while only having true feelings for another person.

Also something pretty obvious so far is that Seok Ryu spends her time hiding her true feelings behind her rowdy attitude. But personally, I've seen several times some "cutting" words from Seung Hyo really hurt her even though she laughed it off.
On Love Next Door Aug 31, 2024
Still loving this show so far. But I have to admit I'm having a hard time imagining Seo Ji Hye as the ex girlfriend... I know she's only 4 years older or maybe it's because I've only seen her being paired with actors older than she is but... she gives off this very mature and dignified aura while Jung Hae In comes off as "handsomely cute". Since Jung So Min is also cute as a button, I have no problem pairing them up in my head but the "elegant Seo Ji Hye" + "cute Jung Hae In" doesn't work for me. So I'm glad it's just a cameo (also come on' it was obvious they weren't kissing in the car, make it feel real guys!)

Ah it's not a matter of age but rather of "aura" per se. I've seen Hae in "Something in the Rain" (which I dropped... though I haven't completely given up on the idea of watching it) and "One Spring Night" and it worked for me so I think it's really down to the fact that their vibes to me are really not aligned which btw makes me think it would be nice to see her in a new project. She hasn't acted in a drama for a while.

With all these comments, I don't know if I shoulf watch it or not... ahhhh I am scared it will make me sick....
Gave up after episode 4... 4 episodes of time wasted... but I still drop here to have a laugh with the comment section. Out of all the time I dropped a show, I have to say this is the first time I'm 1000% sure I made the right decision.
On 4Minutes (Sultrier Version) Aug 31, 2024
So turns out I had more complicated ideas than the author.
This is actually pretty straightforward.

There's only 2 timelines: Puppy Great and Dark Great's and Puppy Great has been seeing vision's of Dark Great's timeline four minutes ahead of his, hence making different choices.
Though their trajectory is different, some key moments cannot be avoided.

The only thing I still find confusing is Tonkla.
If we are in Puppy Great's timeline, there should be no Dark Tonkla since there is no dead Dome.
But in Dark Great's timeline, we should have a Dark Tonkla, which is what's been hinted at... But Dark Tonkla is being chased by Win not hooking up with him.

But in that case, in which timeline does Win and Tonkla get together? The reason why Tonkla and Win got together was because Win is investigating Dome's death... so Dome is dead. However, there's no reason for Tonkla to attack Great in Puppy Great's timeline since he's the one who saved Dome... although it could remotely understand it if he decided to attack Title. So logically, we should have a Puppy Tonkla in Puppy Great's timeline...

Yet, from what's been shown so far we have a Puppy Tonkla in Dark Great's timeline since Puppy Tonkla has rejected Korn - who is a massive a**hole in whichever timeline - and got with Win after Dome's murder.

Or is there some third timeline where Puppy storylines and Dark storylines intersect? Or Am I still making it too complicated for my poor brain?
Maybe it's just that Dark Tonkla did hook up with Win and the scene we see at the beginning of episode 6 only happen days/weeks after Tonkla killed Title and/or attacked Great.

Apart from that, I couldn't help but laugh at the irony of the last scene when Great is literally giving a lecture to his criminal parents regarding killing people when he literally killed somebody ( although not by his doing since the woman committed suicide... though HE doesn't know that) and didn't care one bit.
Or maybe he started to grow a conscience after meeting Thyme?

That part was also a bit confusing as well btw.
In Puppy Great's timeline, Thyme seemed to not know that Great was related to the family that killed his parents and seemed genuinely interested in him. Aside from that, when Thyme attacked Korn, Thyme was the one who voluntarily showed his face to Great.

Yet, in Dark Great's timeline, Thyme approached him when he heard his name and Great was the one who removed Thyme's mask after the latter attacked his brother.

I wonder what is the goal of that difference?

It's not like Great changed names between both timelines... Thyme knew the name in both so why in Puppy Great's timeline was he surprised? Also why did the reveal of the Thyme's face happen differently?

But appart from all that Mindfudge, and even if Dark Great is a terrible person compared to Puppy Great - who isn't that great either - not gonna lie, I love Thyme and Great's dynamic in both timelines. Particularly, I love that Great whether in Dark or Puppy mode is still a puppy when he's interacting with Thyme. It's my romantic heart talking.

I think it's that's something only available in the US. In Europe there's only the Standard subscription which…
Hmm... Must be only available for the American continent then. I used a VPN once located in California, and honestly I didn't see the difference with my Standard subscription ( I'm from France)... So yeah, I don't really see the point. Unless you're into movies or very very old K Dramas. I'm not really a movie person... and as for very old dramas... Got to admit there's a bunch I'd like to see... But there's so many new shows that come out I don't even have the time anyway so...

Also the Standard subscription in Europe gives you access to 1080p... Correct me if I'm wrong but I saw at that time that the standard in North America only gave you access to 720p.

Doesn't surprise me though. North America has a knack for sucking people dry with nonsensical prices. There's more consumer protection in Europe. Youtube premium is one such exemple. Been using several adblockers for years... Don't see the point of youtube premium but apparently in the US at least, if you use an adblocker, youtube slows down your page on purpose.

Wasn't expecting anything from GMMTV and glad I did.
I was looking for something to relax... nothing too serious and this seems to be what I got ( I'm at episode 4).
Didn't expect anything from the NC scenes... and glad I didn't because the spice is not there for sure, "Only Friends" delivered way more in that area but since I didn't expect anything I'm not dissapointed.
This seems to be another very generic rom com' from GMMTV. Not great, not terrible. Just good enough to pass the time and be forgotten less than a week after finishing it. I've yet to reach the end but I already know my final ratings won't go over 7.5 though depending on the final episodes, given everyone's comments, it might go lower.

makes no sense that this was added to viki's plus catalogue. it should've been added to the standard plan -_-
I think it's that's something only available in the US. In Europe there's only the Standard subscription which is available and Wandee Goodday is part of it. This being said Kokowa content is also not available in Europe and there's a couple of K dramas that fall into that category. Anyway, didn't watch it as it aired. I'm glad I don't have my episode interrupted every 10/15 minutes with a stupid preview of the next scenes.

Not really sure about the drama though.

Title The Spirealm Spoiler
Final ratings 7.5.I initially wanted to write a review but in the end I gave up because it would be too long...…
Worst plot hole is the fact that Lan Zhu is supposed to be an NPC created solely for Jiu Shi whose existence started when Jiu Shi entered the game... But in that case how come all the other characters that are part of Obsidian aren't NPC themselves since they were part of Obsidian before Jiu Shi joined them? The last 3/4 episodes are just WTF. Doesn't make any sense.

The drama doesn't explain how Lan Zhu was able to live outside the game in spite of being an NPC and so on and so forth. Maybe it's better explained in the novel... I don't know, I'm judging the drama. It's not my job as a viewer to fill the holes left by the writers when adapting the story. And there's also quite of lot of things that were hinted at and then completely ignored and left unexplained...

And as usual with many C drama adaptations of novels - I have yet to find a single C drama that doesn't do it - they take their sweet time telling their story often dragging things out and then completely rush the ending.

I initially wanted to write a review but in the end I gave up because it would be too long... Too many incoherences and blatant plotholes on top of very badly written anti-american propaganda spoiled the show for me especially by the time we reached the end. Ultimately I strangely still enjoyed the show, but I can't give it an 8 or more because of the points mentioned before.

There's 3 left though... Feels short but we'll see.

Glad to finally be able to watch this legally, too bad they did it so late in the game but maybe they'll learn…
So Finally checked and indeed the first time Great woke up in episode 1, the clock is at 11:00.
However after the accident with the woman it's still 11:00 on the clock.
It's only after Dome died and he saved him that the clock moves up to 11:01 ( beginning of episode 3). Haven't checked the rest cuz no time. I have to look for all the scenes in which Great is in his apartment and there's not that many.
