I'm in ep 13 and I am about to drop it... is it really worth it? when will the good eps start? It's a little boring
I'm not sure if you're still watching it. It was so hyped that the disappoint just shattered me completely. The pacing is so bad that you could skip 20 eps and still know what is going on. They downplayed the female lead character so much, not only is she careless, but she never learns from her mistakes. We get that she got to learn such a powerful skill set? But it was barely even used and she kept having to be saved by others. The political side was way too long and dragged on. There are cringy moments as well. Many ppl says its good but it is pretty much bad script-writing. I usually change my ratings and thoughts of a drama after I complete it for a while because that is when you start to reflect on what you have watched and that is when you either realise how bad or good it is compared to other dramas. P.S. I liked it at first, but it wasn't my thing as the quality of the drama went down.

Lol lets take it as he changed his voice for the better of not being found out. I was thinking that they would look for someone at a similar build too. His disguised counterpart is kinda small and feminine. Actually I'm bothered by the guy that acts as Liu Shang, he kinda likes to do that duck lip thing if you know what I mean. I can't help but notice it.
On a side note, for Xing Zhao Ling as Mo Lian Cheng whenever he smiles I feel like he forces himself to smile with his lips closed. It just looks a bit awkward. I mean he still looks adorable in any way he smiles. I kinda wanna see his wide smile with teeth at some point. I've seen all of Xiao Tan's smiles she could do any.

Ohh, I see. I don't really mind the dubbing and is used to it now. I'm only mostly annoyed if they try to give the females that squeaky girly voice and it's really annoying. For the girls in this drama, I like that low tone.

Spoiler alert (within the 8 eps) It's gonna be brief, I don't wanna spoil too much.
There are 2 Mo Lian Chengs. One is the past Mo Lian Cheng and the other is original Mo Lian Cheng from the modern times (season 1). Because 2 Mo Lian Chengs cannot exist at once, he seeks help from Liu Qian Shui (old weirdo) to make a human skin mask where he will disguise as Liu Shang and becomes the past Mo Lian Cheng's strategist. He will take off his mask and appear intimate with Xiao Tan when the other guy is away from the manor. And this goes on. Xiao Tan just thinks that he is mental with a soft and cold personality.
If you're worried about who to root for I don't know what to say as of now. Xiao Tan has been doing those stuff with our modern one. She does not have any fluffy romantic scenes (yea I mean kiss and hugs) with the ancient/historical Mo Lian Cheng yet. I mean barely, he does eventually fall for her and tries to trick her to get close to him but it's more intimate with our original modern Mo Lian Cheng.
The modern Mo Lian Cheng has set 3 rules for Xiao Tan so that she doesn't unknowingly get close with the historical Mo Lian Cheng. First is to not have eye contact with him. Second is that she is not allowed to approach him and only he is allowed to approach her. Third, she must not enter his bedroom or living quarters.
