it was just toxic relationships all around. the reason it gets traffic and fame is because this may have been the very first omega verse cdrama and maybe even in the world. I don't know, not a fan of that goofy concept 😬

honestly, what is wrong with the men in these dramas??? you have a woman you love and pledge to protect but you are not assigning any guards, martial artist shadow, or even maids who are to defend her to death and you go out for weeks on end not even thinking that assholes like your cousin or her dumb father will come after her just because you are king? 🤦🤦🤦🤷🤷🤷😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫🥺🥺🥺🤨🤨🤨😞😞😞

oh yea, I rated it 8 at first but after going back it was only worth 7.75😜 I think him playing that awful dude in Abo desire made me change it

this was one of the best scripts with story that made sense. characters that were straight from where they came from and well produced. a rare thing for VD but a proof that VDs are strong contenders of full length and budget dramas

hi!!!! haven't seen you in a loooong time! funny how we came here almost concurrently. 😄 I saw this actress before and she was decent but she has been playing really poorly scripted characters and - not sure how to be kind - she sucks playing them, which actually is a complement because when the role is fitting she can perform. I think.
and I agree with the complaint about the budget: using the same actor for two roles 🤣🤣🤣 with ai they could have done it better, but I guess the allure was going to be Oedipus attraction he he he, 😵‍💫🤮💩 I am going to check what you are watching now - I have not checked my feed for a long time so even if you posted I am completely in the dark and begging pardon

oh I agree 100% with you. this had such a potential but it turned out dismal. for me it didn't help that fl was played by a woman who has no idea how to vary her performance. I had seen her in half a dozen dramas and swear to God I can't tell the characters apart other than the looks and what the script says she is. all other actors were fantastic. well, maybe not the Fu Zhi the girlfriend of the fl - again another actress who plays exactly the same way all her roles. good review

yep. she is.
the quality is in the big ticket actors and not the script which is written to attract streaming platforms users all over the world.
in fact the synopsis is completely misleading but
if indeed a first female official was so effective, she had to have a backing of some high rank man given Confucian rules, so again misleading if we think she is all cunning and clever. she used the emperor and he had her. like sexually. end of the story. it had to be hush hush because such liaison would be scandalous

he does the Playboy with his girl really easily 😅

ikr!? I am just off a spree with his costume dramas and like Deng Kai in pursuit of jade (and he was fantastic in at least a dozen of other short dramas but needed a push with big budget monster) he needs one solid role to propel him into better bargaining position to further his cabreer

well, I live out west but know a bit about Chinese film industry and realities of social blackmail under CCP, so honestly I don't hate anybody for trying to survive there. better a mediocre actor than a dead one. also. sometimes good looks are all there is. unfortunately, too many pretty people are just being themselves on screen rather than portraying and embodying various characters. I often follow the actors just because they are awesome in their versatility. the dude in The Girl Inside Me is my crown point.

I actually agree with you. I know actors land typecasted roles and it kills their craft, while fans rejoice from watching the same thing over and over. me, on the other hand, I prefer variety of stories, characters and skills. knowing that most actors are bound by contracts which means playing even mediocre stuff, but big stars like leads here are really obligated to do more than just the usual. yes. I am complaining about fl actress. she is not the only one I have a bone to pick. Esther is like that - with the exception of literally two roles. this lady needs to be a bit more interested in stretching her talents beyond good girl overcoming obstacles the same way she did in other dramas

well she initiated exposing his pretending to be the envoy, but maybe that is the development line on her character. very reserved and unaware from the beginning only to gain wisdom and hopefully some spunk when sparring with ml. 7.5 for me at ep 3

and don't forget killer ost !!! I loved the music, songs ang bgm. this drama was really a proof that well thought through story can be made concise, intriguing and enjoyable. I came for the lead actors and was not disappointed in the whole thing. good directing
