Did you notice how cdramas are getting better in the short and minis??? They are really evolving! And I don't mean Guo's 30 minutes fabulous projects (Wuliang) but solid 10-20 min ones, right? They do tons of VDs with some that are jaw dropping but some are so darn lousy... πππ
Isn't the ML a bit stupid for someone who experience ten lifetimes?
I kinda think that with the 20 life chances between them the first time around he remembered and she got the "pre-cog" of what is going to happen, but the jade was activated by the adopted brother, so ml is not the only dude with memories. And maybe when she gets the magic jade activated, it will reverse for them: she will remember and he will get "pre-cog" somehow?
I gotta say of all the "stuck in the story" cdramas (long like Dream Within Dream and shorter ones like Fortune Writer, not to mention multiple VDs) this is actually well done. I am enjoying it immensely! ππβ€οΈ
could not help to think this was an echo of Epstein case of rich or powerful trafficking girls. alas, really boring and wasteful project that most actors here would never ever mention on their resume
The cinematography is stunning. Iβm going to start watching this on the big tv screen to get the full effect.…
Aloha from Maui dear! I keep asking different people if TXW is good as AYu (I read the novel and couldn't imagine her in this role), so what do you think, my friend? I am far to busy for the next two weeks so am only reading comments instead of watching πππ
His dream really came true π (Iβd kill pigs just to feed you). The novel truly came to life everything looks…
True to the novel? Wow. Good to hear. Is TXW able to play AYu? I have my doubts seeing her in other dramas and doing the same style of characterization that her heroines are pretty much the same thing over and over again (sorta like Ester Yu, she only once played unemotional mature role)
I started reading and had to drop at ch 82. Hoping the drama will be better because the novel is written with heavy focus on pointless bombastic speeches that only exaggerate needless angst and suffering without creating any sense of character. This story was very much like what the novel Fight for Love set up, except the fl is not the widow of the clan, but the eldest daughter of the family loosing all males in combat, and sorta what Blossoms in Adversity focused on: women making do when all their men are gone. When one full chapter was a minute description of about 5 minutes scene I could no longer bear it. I read long novels in the past but this is not much of literary work. I am looking forward to seeing the drama instead.
I honestly can't because this IMHO this is the best fl centered plot that I ever read. In other stories fl relies…
hey, I just started reading Destined to be a Phoenix. it's freaking long 1600 chapters, but it has a pretty good fl so far, so check it out π Actually, scratch that. The novel is written with heavy focus on pointless speeches, what could be done in 2 chapters is excruciatingly stretched over 12. And the fl is just a wooden figure with no character. Ugh, dropped it.
No kidding. Netflix and even Viki are full of stupid and downright insulting the viewer's intelligence productions. I see maybe 2 "outside of the box" dramas produced a year now and it seems the "flop 2025" phenomenon for costume Korean dramas is starting to show in China 2026 π the same plots, tropes, the same typecasting, the same decor, the same music, the same mediocre adaptation of sometimes good material. Personally I don't have any interest in watching pompous asses in power or with money bullying, humiliating and hurting others. The long tradition of ruthless treatment of those less likely to put up a fight is mind boggling in real life - do I need to subject myself to watching it also for "entertainment"?
I honestly can't because this IMHO this is the best fl centered plot that I ever read. In other stories fl relies on brawn, or a ml or manipulates people. Here she is so awesomely determined to self destruct without making a bang but obliterating everything with her quiet but soft vengeance. Some folks say The Double or Malicious Empress were good, but I find them tedious if not bombastic. There is a fl that I liked regardless of her weakness: Days of Seclusion and Love. I can't remember any other- most of the novels are pretty darn similarly boringπ«€
hey, can you share your thoughts on what they did with the drama vs the novel? I really did not like how the drama…
Thanks. I did not read The Double and at this point probably won't. I read Legend of Female General and was disappointed with the drama. Not the first and not the last time
