I am concurrently watching 2099 and this and they both have ML anti-hero who fails and repeats on the road to the goal. I LOVE BOTH. while Joy of Life "everything's going my way" omnipotence is entertaining, this gets me in connecting with the average person's struggle.
ok - imma gonna start this based on yโall comments. Need a change of pace from the suffering /longing/ angsty…
it will be frustrating while at it. Unlike the reincarnated characters or folks in the game that know how to outsmart the system this dude has no earthly clue and is such a clutz that I think of him as anti-hero. But it's still entertaining to watch how he fails and fails and fails and fails and fails....
thanks a lot for your support๐ I appreciate it so much๐โโ๏ธ absolutely it is having the same attractive…
what you think of the Haunted Palace?

I am savoring this. My rating so far 9/10, The music is just as beautiful as in the Alchemy of Souls and very fitting. This drama has no humor and I love it for being what it is. Good review.
this smart script can get you fooled with the first 2 wacky episodes where it's hard to tell what kind of drama this will be. I am not saying this is 1984 inspired, but I do see similarity to all the great movies of rundown humanity here. At ep 10 I am loving it.
oooo, clever! I like the idea. But the question is - what was the 3fish ring/bangle the PingJin was holding in…
nice plotting in your head! Yea, I know - that is where I saw it the first time too, so how did it get split from the artifact? I thought: if the marquise has the ring - how did that happen? Did he get his hands on the artifact that the father of ML grabbed and then lost part of it? or the artifact has one ring while there is another ring out there and Ping Jin got his paws on that only? I am uneasy about the masked dude saving the boy conveniently after everybody else was gone and knowing where to find him.
for the old trope of witnessing family dying and revenge at all costs, this has that elusive adventure supernatural vs. scientifically explainable quality. Also, the fact that there is not much fighting and no romance adds to the focus on the story, characters, production incl. acting. LOVING IT!
This is my first xiao zhan drama. How were his previous works and how's his acting?
he was self-taught actor before takin on the role in the Untamed during which he took acting classes. He is both talented and intuitive. With a good script and a role to play he does wonders. With so so scripts he does what is expected. But he usually goes beyond the call of duty to embody the character, like for the recent movie Condor Heroes he learnt Mongolian. I like his costume drama appearances while his modern things are imo so so. I always check out his new productions, including incredible music album he released this year. Most Chinese actors are so freaking talented in at least 3 things - he is an actor, singer and a visual artist. Awesome!
I do not love the actor who plays the evil Nangong dude. I am impressed with the 2FL (sister) more than FL - I mean acting-wise. This is such a silly story, but I am somehow fascinated by it
