Actually no. Every monarch does not act the same to keep their power or empire. You seem to forget people do not all have the same character, the same principles and therefore the same behavior towards power or threats. Mishhil would kill random villagers just to show off her power and scare...what did that have to do with incompetence? Only balance lasts throughout time, and it's what characters like Mishil don't have. The ones defeated in the end are not just painted demonic they usually are a bit more than the victors. It's a basic law of nature...it will always bring balance back.

I beg to disagree...this demon killed innocent Shilla people like flies for her benefit anytime she could and without any hesitation...even sometimes just out of anger...if that's not hurting Shilla I don't know what is.

JOJ was so crazy evil and devilish in Dong Yi, as well as in real life according to History, that I can't bring myself to watch this...too bad...since it seems...from the comments...that it's a cute romance here.
This drama was so strange. What? The guy realizes his feelings in the last episode and we get like 1min of them together for real...lmao...A no no for me when it comes to romance drama...really hell no. It's more like a comedy and family drama than a rom-com.
This sequel is disappointing. For all the evil he did, the king mostly spent his life comfortable, it's not fair. The messiah vs crow bla bla twist was over the top. Didn't like this one at all.
Seen 18 episodes and I don't like the main girl so far...she's too arrogant, over-ambitious and cunning. She has the traits of a villain even if she's smart and probably not really evil.
I had to drop it. Couldn't stand the nang'ek. She was too weak and stupid. But again, I didn't realize at first that it was a slap/kiss, and I don't like those. Nevertheless...if they enjoy showing hate they could at least make both of them hate on each other...and not always the male bullying and the girl taking it all in like a stupid and masochistic doormat...smh...
Very good period drama. The ending was great and satisfying. I actually disliked the emperor even more than the antagonists so I agreed with what happened to him in the end :)
I liked the storyline and enjoyed seeing the lead turn from a cold-freezing robot to a loving and warm hubby. :) Also really like the development of the family grudge sub-plot especially the fixing. The Father-Son hospital scene was so touching!!!!
But OMG why do scriptwriters make it as if being stupid is a cute trait for women in most dramas? I could not bear how nonsensical, dumb and careless they made her in the last third. It was really painful watching her digging her own grave...smh

Their interactions are cute (OTP), the drama felt so promising at first, but the plot was all over the place in the second half...lol...it was so crazy and strange... Oh my! Why do they always have to ruin potential? Also how can a single person face so many public humiliations and embarrassing situations? lol...that was funny and uncomfortable at the same time.
Anyways, because the chemistry is so strong and all the clichés still cheesy and all it's an ok drama to watch.
Well, I did not really enjoy it. Nice story but so slow and not intense enough in critical moments. Also I hate over dramatic acting and forceful tragic ending.
It's not an awful sageuk though...just boring to me.
It felt promising at first, then turned out to be more of a long story of all the women falling for the prince, then going crazy jealous and doing hateful things for it. It focused too much on the cunning of the women and not enough on Lu Zhen's strength...which honestly I didn't see that much. Yes she was very smart sometimes but most of the time weak...it's a bit disappointing. Nonetheless in the last quarter the drama manages to surprise with really unexpected twists and turns...which was definitely the best of it all.
