I don't know, man. Imagine you fall in love and it does not work out with the guy, okay, you might get over it, I got over some past lovers, too, so it is not impossible. But then imagine your parents marry you off to some guy you didn't really like before. He treats you nice and all but I can tell you, being treated nice does not mean that you will fall in love. Why are there so many stories on "friendzones"? Bc love and attraction does not only come from hard work and just beeing cooped up together in one room. She just does not fall in love with the Emperor. It is not her fault and of course it is also not the Emperors fault either. However, does that give him the right to play cat n mouse with her?
He gives her up to die during the war, claming "I am the Emperor I have to do this, I can not favor a women over my kingdom" and then just a couple Eps later when her sister shows up and he wants to make our FL jellous, all of a sudden he can do all sorts of stupid shit and the folks is now talking about him favoring a woman over the kingdom. NOW all of a sudden he can just act like that? But saving her life was too much to ask of.

Before all of that stupid shit happened, she was nice to him, helped him in every way, they solved problems of the kingdom together, it was really nice and I liked that part the most about the drama. She might not have loved him but she respected him and treated him well. What more does one want? Whatever her sister is doing right now, out of love, is stupid! She is super toxic and he is ruining his kingdom over her (he is not sleeping well, giving her weird titles that shouldnt be, etc)

He used her sister to make her jealous, which backfired. Then never trusts her with anything just because she does not love her, even though all the time she has been loyal and nice to him, just didnt give him love. How can you not see how cruel he is to her? Just mistreat and mistrust someone because they don't love you??? Who does that with friends? Is friendship even a thing anymore?? Is one only nice to you bc they love you??

I should stop here, I could go on and on. In short, I am sorry for the two that they ended up in a marriage like that, but being heart broken does give no one the right to be cruel. There is nothing romantic about that, either

The only thing you can do to make that happen is write an epic novel with women n sword, have that shit hit China hard, become super popular and have it made into a drama.

The only reason as to why I put Joy of Life on hold is bc I fear I will fall in love with it and want more. I am kind of waiting for the next season to come out first but I am unsure if I can be that patient!

YES it does! Better leave Goodbye my Princess alone then haha it has a tragic ending. However, I am still happy I watched it. It feels like a must watch when one likes historic dramas haha It is famous for its tragic ending and the FL was crowned the most pitiful lead in all historical dramas until SiFeng swagged into 2020 and took the throne for himself!

True that (about the lack of kissing in historic dramas), maybe you wanna check out "Story of Minglan". ML and FL are married in real life, too.
The romance only comes later (around EP30 or so) but they play a real couple. It is more of a 'slice of life' but in a historic setting.
But man those kisses in L&R were FIRE! Good stuff!!! Also 'Peach Blossom' kisses were addicting, the chemestry off the charts
I am happy with this life, we have been blessed with a lot of great stuff
