It would have probably been better if they didn't shelf it for too long and aired it half a year earlier or so without cuts. Ppl will complain about the fillers but ppl will now complain about the cuts! And I personally prefer skipping through fillers than feeling the holes the cutting has left.

Let's not say 'bad acting' but rather 'bad directing' haha If no one tells her to be sad then she wouldn't but you are right, I just instandly took it as bad editing and was so upset that they might have really slept with each other x.x
Or she just 'sucked it up' like she does with all the other bad stuff around her.

Then it comes in handy that the new dramas are all shorter now. This one has been shelved for a long time, thus the lenght but the trend is now going back to shorter dramas. Which is good bc some really just had too much filler! But overall I am okay with long dramas if they aren't full of filler Eps. Just like L&R, really good stuff.

Yeah, when you want something light then it really is best to watch that later haha Maybe even when it finished airing. I keep watching currently airing dramas like the fool I am...
I liked Maiden Holmes too but it kinda lost me around Ep10 idk

I acctually prefer when stuff goes smoothly. Even though she had to 'serve' him, it seemed like she didn't have to sleep with him. He respected her for her smarts and they were a good team together. Things worked good and they made progress. Now we don't see any politics anymore and it makes me wonder how smoothly the cocuntry is working, considering that he is not getting any sleep and stays with his consort most of the time (we get to see at least). He needs to run a fukkin country, not court women. When the country is running as 'smoothly' as his harem, then shit is gonna hit the fan quick. Which is ... I guess good for us!
I just prefered out FL having a comfortable life where she had some stuff to do (read books, being consulted, taking care of the harem in terms of telling the emperor to go visit others etc etc). She was just too good anyway. So dissapointed x.x

I was skeptical of her in the first arch but since she is in the palace I enjoy watching her a lot. She is smart and just the best babe... but she deserves so much better. They all do x.x

I was also screaming when that cut happened. Like WILL YOU NOT TELL US?! WHAT IS THIS!! Did she now have to sleep with him... wait when it was cut so casually, had she already slept with him before and that was why "nothing new to see here, just married couples doing their thing"-kinda cut!
I was trembling, still am! I wonder though bc in his actions nothing changed after that cut. He was still the very same so I am guessing they didn't sleep with each other... or he is really just such a roach (to borrow your vocab) that even after sleeping with her, he will still be this indifferent. So many possibilities and it just does not look good for us. He might have really just had his way with her TTATT

You are right, I was so blinded by how stupid the Emperor has become and was so upset that all the smarts out of this drama was just drained but you are ofcourse right, this is good for us!
I was really happy with this drama bc everyone was smart, but now with the introduction of ONE character, everything goes down -

If she really had to sleep with him... then that really was the worst birthday ever. No one is ever minding what she actually wants x.x She is just living for others

Do not worry about the FL. I was skeptical at first, too. I haven't even seen her in any projects before and didn't really like her in the first arch of the story where she had to play a young, bold, free spirited person and it didn't help that the drama was directed by the same ppl who made Love And Redemption. You could feel that the good times the leads had in the first arch were only a lead up to tragedy soon after (just like in L&R).
But as soon as that happened and the next arch hit, I grew very fond of our FL. She is doing a really good job and her character is smarts, virtues, just a little too headstrong at times.
Maybe give it a try and see how you like it or how you like the beginning of the 2nd arch. Wouldn't be really worth waiting all that time for a new remake within the next 10y or so.
