No, he was extremely justified in his anger. I think Fang Ning made a decision as she has always done in her life and that's to try to please those she cares about at her expense. I think the divorce resulted from a sense of responsibility and guilt she for upending Ling Rui's future plans, and his mom asking her to let him go was the affirmation, in her mind, that a divorce would make him happier than being with her. I really like this drama because it allows the viewer to understand the motivations of both characters with neither one being without flaws.

That's my take on it also. She's someone who had anxiety issues because of her sister's death, the company is being sabotaged by a vindictive lunatic, and then LR's mom want her to let him go find his dream. Since she's always had to handle every decision on her own, she would have felt sharing all these issues with LR would have hurt him, so she chose.

I am a horrible fan of the FF button and use it for 90 - 95% of dramas that I watch. It's not so much them as I am slightly ADHD and my attention can wander off towards the slightest distraction. For this drama, I've not once had anything on fast forward and in fact, it's quite the opposite. A lot of episodes are immediately on rewind because the nuanced acting by all is really quite breathtaking. I'm a fan of both male leads and truly believe Darren Wang absolutely nailed and understood the character he portrays. What is riveting and different in this is the second male lead portrayed by Xiao Zhan. Most second leads are pale.....they are written in such a way as perhaps sympathetic, mostly pure or evil (no in between) and less masculine that the lead. What "The Wolf" does perfectly is writing the second lead as flawed and dynamic. To me, it's not a question of rooting for either one but immersing myself in a story and caring about each interaction. This is truly a winter present that I'll re-watch again and again.
