Yes that is true. I think Consort Qin was manipulated by both of them. But even till the last minute she is lying to Ye Li in ep 26 . Oh well!

Well if you want more smut go elsewhere . And no it is not bland. Romance is not the main point of this drama. They have shown solid husband and wife relationship between them and a beautiful bond with a harmonious synchrony and that is more than enough

Are we still talking about the novel? This story has clearly deviated far from the novel and it is even better. You have to first understand this to enjoy the drama. If you are stuck in the novel - which may have been good as an anime or manga- but definitely not suitable for a drama like this . I think the screenwriters have done a tremendous job. But I agree with you. The Ding family or rather Prince Ding is the POV and Ye Li is the protagonist trying to uncover everything. And they have kept that from the novel. He and his situation is definitely the mystery. Their stories are parallel and they will merge at some point. But there are pieces of her past that are missing too

I disagree. Still loving it and going strong. And I am definitely not watching it for the romance. Not needed - there are so many interesting things happening. And the story is so well written . Romance would be out of place in this story.

And you are right - we have a mentally ill FL who is trying to sort herself out and the ML has his own demons too. We are looking at two scarred people here . Yes this is the best adaptation I have seen- probably even better than the original novel- which I did read . And yes it is her POV- and all of it may very well come apart because her memories are unreliable because she had suppressed so much and there may be things she does not know. We have to see all of this slowly unfold. Romance is not everything in a story. I am glad we have a limited amount going on here because anything more would distract us from the actual plot which is so intriguing at this point. If that is what people want they should be watching a different drama. Not something as complex as this. The actors are doing a fantastic job- taking it out on them is plain BS
