But I think that is the point. Given their past and the kind of life they had growing up - how ‘normal’ is it going to be? Or healing even? I am glad they are showing this harsh reality because they are both abandoned people and have no sesnse of home or family.

They do need to communicate . But I also think that she is being way too reckless. She is not even thinking as to why he is behaving the way he is. His past experience is way too traumatic for him to open up. It is obvious that the best way is to communicate but you can’t get a traumatized person like Chen Yi to communicate or tell her everything. I still do not like how this auditing company and their boss is recklessly risking their lives without taking into consideration how dangerous the people they are dealing with are. Zhang Bin has already threatened Chen Yi with MJ’s life . It was a veiled threat- but it was there . You think she is going to listen if he tells her?
I do agree that the boundaries between MJ and Cen Ye are very blurred. Chen Yi is a pretty messed up guy - he also has many mental issues. He has never felt he can measure up to her. She is not making it any easy for him by being too close to Cen Ye. I get why Chen Yi does not want to open up about his past life. He has some amount of PTSD plus she is going straight for ZB at thi point and putting herself in danger. This is also putting Chen Yi in a very difficult position . I don’t think he wanted to go back to being an informant and live his life like that again but she is pushing him to do exactly that. Some people think MJ has the right to know the truth- but in this kind of complex situation pushing for that is not realistic. He is not going to get closer to her because she is asking for too much. She knows he was living a dangerous life but she wants to get right in the middle of it through her investigation. Chen Yi is afraid and that is going to make him clamp up and distance himself from her . Her mixed signals are not helping.
So Chen Yi and MJ are back to square one. Her life is in danger and he is working for ZB to protect her and he is playing the dangerous game of being a police informant . He cannot obviously tell anyone that she is his GF since she works for the auditing company. This has gotten a little complicated now. She is mad at him again for keeping things to himself. And Cen Ye- I actually find it strange that he does not protect his employees- they just go head on when auditing and it is dangerous.
