For viewers complaining: I like the way this story is paced and how it is laid out. The default for this story is that the spirit world is way more powerful than the mortal world and He Simu is extremely powerful. Duan Xu in the other hand is a powerful general in the mortal world and he is very clever and he is also very young. They have kept the dynamic of an extremely powerful 400 yr old spirit and a 19 yr old general dynamic very well. If you think the ML is being immature clingy etc - you have to remember how a 19 yr old would behave and this is his first time falling for someone. The first 14 episodes focused on him and how their relationship evolved and from 14 - 24 they showed her world and their dynamics . This is not a simple story and requires one to really understand the characters. I don’t expect Duan Xu to be more powerful than the FL or resort to some extreme heroics to show that he is extraordinary. That actually would ruin the story . He has other endearing characteristics that make him stand out from He Simu’s perspective, that make her fall for him . In spite of the imbalance in power between ML and FL, the two characters are still very well balanced and well paired. It works and that is the beauty of it.
The story is not just revolving around their relationship either . They are also showing the life and and politics of both their worlds.
