Yes that was my interpretation as well. He was devastated that he had lost everything for not even the right girl. I do blame Jiaqi though. How could he not have investigated anything before setting them up? Such an unreliable friend . I can understand why the ML did not investigate in the 3 yrs and let it go. He must have been so hurt plus he was dealing with recovering from the accident and then loss of his career. Why would he even put himself through going after that girls again?

I really loved the conversation Lin had with his mom about the whole incident. At that time I was like , I am glad he is taking his time to get together with him.
