Just finished it and this is the best drama of the year. It was a flawlessly executed fantasy drama. Definitely had Story of Kunning palace vibes but was very different . I loved the leads, they suited each other very well and acted their parts beautifully. The FL lead, Zoey Meng, is beautiful and a wonderful actress. I would like to see her in more lead roles. I really did not find anything wrong to complain about this drama. Even the length and the ending were perfect. Such a refreshing change from all the crap that came out in 2024 . Finally a drama that kept me engaged till the end. This one is a 10 for me . It had the right amount of everything. Very well balanced!

Yeah Deng Man was wrong to do that and then play the victim card . Well she put herself in that spot when she chased a married man relentlessly.

Yep the final confrontation was a bit much. But maybe that is the kind of provocation he needs for them to nail him. Because that is pressure to show themselves/make mistakes .

But I do like these interactions between Yu Zheng and WP starting now. Hope they capitalize on this . It will make the drama better .

Yes but it is clear now that Yu Zheng wants to solve the case . She is not the mastermind . The cat and mouse game willl be between her and WP . And yes they are evenly matched for that

Absolutely true! Professor Yu’s character is the best one so far and the one with the brains to solve this case. But unfortunately they made her a support character . Actually the cops are not solving anything. They are making it worse if anything .

I don’t know how possible that is given that they were school mates and must have met other parents at some point

So Ding Jing may not have had anything to do with Deng Man’s death. Did the coach drive her to suicide after affair got exposed? So WP paid for coach’s treatment in return for what ? Or rather who gave him so much money for treatment . It looks like he did not tell JCY everything . Also why did JCY not ask the coach directly about the phone calls from DJ - because they were on the phone log🤯. I wish the wife could talk. I think she knows even more

Also how come the cops have not questioned Liu Yujie further? She definitely knows something. Geez! At this rate my mind is going to explode because of this drama. When she came to see the FL - the FL should she’d directed her to the cops. I guess some people never learn

No that question was quite tricky. At this point, they can make Kira Shi the main lead - as the person going after the killer. She will be wonderful. Even though she has acted in many negative roles before, one thing you can’t deny is her acting chops and strong screen presence. The way she confronted WP with that was great. That is the feel we want for this drama. She could have carried this drama to the end beautifully according to me instead of this hodge podgr investigation they are serving us

Also why did it take this long for them the secure to crime scene where Dong Jing was killed LOL! This drama gets ridiculous by the second . At this point I am watching it for the joke it is. My rating is staying at 6.5. I want to see what kind of contrived ridiculous conclusion this is going to have . The head gave them
7 days to get something and lol it took them almost all that time to secure one crime scene.

So if JCY and WP are the same age then JCY would have been 10/11 when WP’s mom came into the picture. Then how could he not know? At that age you know things. So this does not make sense to me at all.

Our FL is a complete idiot! She honestly does not know how to handle her personal relationships. She is a complete mess . How could she not know the WP was interested in her when he was trying to get close to her for 8 yrs? I don’t know which woman is like this - at some point one would realize and create boundaries. Why do they create characters like this?? All she know is to evade the issue and run away . She did that with her BF and she is doing it with WP. If you can’t be clear and create that boundary then don’t blame people for not backing off. And I get why the ML has not committed to her completely yet.

Well summed up. And yes Bland, blank wide eyed stares is how I would describe her too. And the communication between this lead couple - especially from her side is just awful
