He found out when science Wei visited him before.. they never talk about it - but if you listen to their conversations it is very obvious and all the uncle’s actions are implicit. But it is obvious when he lets Xie Wei pray to their ancestors and also that is one of the reasons he wants XW to conduct that coming of age ceremony. The uncle embraced the nephew as family.

I am rewatching this drama and man the caliber of the story and acting is just out of this world. Bai Lu has chemistry with all the 3 men- it’s amazing how she pulled that off. Xie Wei’s character is so intense and very well written. The episode where his uncle finds out that he is in fact his nephew is just amazing and that coming of age ceremony - where he prays to his ancestors with his uncle. It’s as though he has come home ! Such a fantastic drama!

I can go on xie Wei playing the Qin when the Uans get banished and before that when they get arrested ! So well done!
