Yes - for a character like hers a happy ending with the guy she said she loved and abandoned multiple timers was a little much to take. Be it a male or female it is not necessary to put up with that crap for so called ‘love’. If the FL were honest - I would have wanted a happy ending but she was just an extremely gray character
