I can't even imagine what the little boy have been through, they all deserve a painful and slowly death
I mean, it's a given that leads in Wuxia drama need to suffer unimaginable torture, split blood every 2-3 episode and nearly (or literally) die for their respective ML or FL. It's in their job description. :P
While I'm not particularly fan of love triangle, Drama enjoyer shouldn't be surprised to see a SML (or SFL) ruining the party. So why the extra hate here ?
Genuine question as so far, he didn't strike to me as the usual jerk SML created to be hated and more like a greyish character with a secret purpose. Or is it just because he is the way of ML & FL relationship ? Because if I'm being honest here, he is really needed as ML isn't that proactive to begin with. He only does when SML push him. :P
he deserves better 😤 she isn't sry about anything or trying to fix their relation.. And goes to all this without…
I mean, he wasn't that proactive in mending the relationship either. Tbh, both are at fault here. More than that, it's a writing problem I see here. Author wanted to create a misunderstanding and made it artificially even if it break their characters.
The fact she didn't say she didn't do it doesn't make sense at this point and the fact ML believed it without second thought at first make him look quite dumb (he is supposed to be very smart).
He was suspicious of the "new He Rufei" and respected the old one. So it's obvious that the culprit is the new one. But again, author wanted a misunderstanding at this point of the story and even if it was odd, they did it anyway. Not the end of the world, but yeah a bit lazy if you ask me. :P
I guess military commanders now listen to random strangers in the middle of battle after they get caught intruding…
Chu Zhao was here with probably a token to identify him as the Minister of War so he wasn't just a nobody + the fact they used the "secret tunnel" only people in the confidence sound know. And lastly, the guy is in a desperate situation and the idea seems good enough to him. :P
I know it's not over yet but what's the endgame here? Is it grandpa and Hai Yuan or the grand son? Cause if we're…
Grampa is the endgame so you can watch it without worry on this side. As for the age gap it's probably because we directly saw him in his old body but a vampire is "forever young".
It make easier to accept the age gap when someone isn't/wasn't visually old. Personally, I also did find the setting of having the grampa living in his grandson body... odd at first. Honestly I would have been more comfortable if he was a brother/cousin/friend especially when I didn't see the point of adding this extra layer of weirdness into the plot.
It doesn't bother much now as the plot have a purpose for this (Grampa past & Haiyuan past lives) and Martin Wong isn't that great of a actor to make believe he play a grampa soul to begin with. :P
Genuine question for those who did NOT read the novel - are you still enjoying the drama? Is the story coherent…
So far, I'm really enjoying this. But even without having reading the novel, I do sense that sometime thing are missing.
Like the fact ML didn't suspect FL identity at all in the beginning (I learned that it make more sense in the novel because she is in another body) or in the more recent event, FL not explaining that she didn't hold the reinforcement.
Like it's completely obvious that it was her step brother who did that (they made it like she was only suspicious) and then doesn't make it clear to the ML she didn't just to created this artificial misunderstanding. Again, probably a change they made clumsily I think.
BUT like I said, overall, it's still very good. :D
Congrats to them. "After discovering that a company was reselling used sanitary pads" EWW! That's just…
This line was so "WTF ?!". That belong to OnlyFan marketing but even more the fact she started her own Sanitary Pads business afterward and made good money from it is just hilarious. xD
She's smart so I cannot don't see that as a PR move - a really good one I would said. But I mean regardless if it was completely genuine or not, she did a favor to those struggling business and she get a better image - like many celebrities that do charity work. It's a win-win for both side. And with her recent news, she will probably need public opinion on her side. Maybe I'm too cynical but regardless I cannot blame her and hope she will win her fight.
Now I'm getting bored with this after singing its praises for the first 12 episodes. It's just the same scenario…
I mean it basically it. The whole plot is about the fight between FL & her sister scheming against each other. Ofc, FL always win in the end as she even succeeded in her past life with the useless husband anyway. Don't really expect more. Personally I enjoy it as it's really similar to MANY popular vertical dramas that follow the exact same pattern - Wronged FL + Bitchy SFL fight & scheme to get the man, wealth & power. I never get bored of those, this is just the higher budget version so I'm satisfied. :P
oh ! the way my jaw dropped ! based on your description, they can't even be called the same story. wdym the roles…
Yeah but like I said, the manga is just 2 chapters so the story is basically what we have in episode 1 and the final episode. Like the first scene where MC make ML cry saying "It's exactly what I wanted" is exactly the same in the manga. It just that ML discover pretty quickly MC real identity leading to the happy ending (don't want to spoil what will surely happen in this adaptation).
If they didn't add something, it would barely be a 2 episode drama. ^^
That being said, they really completely change MC and made ML more "manly" than MC.
He also traveled back in time with FL. How all of that will be explained? We don’t know yet. They are hinting…
It's a soft ban. Depending on where it's broadcasting in China, the censorship is more or less heavy.
Here, it's clearly a time travel story except a huge plot twist in the end where they "wake up" in their past life but it would make all their effort of a new life quite wasted so I highly doubt it.
And if they actually do it I would just ignore it because it would just be nonsense to avoid censorship basically.
I am so close to dropping this drama. Although the ML and FL are cute together, the fl brother and the annoying…
Yeah, I don't know why she kept around the ex-BF. Well, I understand the writer want this character to still be around but from FL PoV it doesn't really make sense.
Like he is part of the "friend gang" but he clearly annoy her (and all the friend group tbh) as she avoid him everytime & doesn't bother to respond to him (making her appear quite rude if we take a step back). She never said directly anything and it make look like she keep him "on a hook" for some reason. But it doesn't make sense considering her personality. And obviously he is also written in a way that her reacting like that (literally screaming "I'M NOT INTERESTED"), he is still oblivious & confident that he can make her fall for him. It's just too artificial. ^^

I mean, they both "died" together in the elevator. As to explain how they did it, most story don't bother explaining it except the regular "They were given a second chance to undo their regret". FL for being to focused on love & ML that didn't overcome the trauma of losing his best friend - and obviously they are fated FL & ML so the universe roll back because they need to be together. :P
I personally like this one. But from the ongoing C-Drama "Legend of The Female General" is my favorite. "Threads of Destiny" (Short Drama format) is also another good one. "Revenged Love" if you can enjoy BL.
Or maybe you are in a slump phase. It happen when you see too much of a certain content. :)
After reading the source material - 2 Chapters + 1 Extra (smut) - I don't really like how they changed the main characters.
Suzuki Hiroshi (MC) was more of a confident ikemen after his glow up post high school. Manly would describe him pretty well. But here, the MC is more of a really insecure pretty boy. Also, in the manga, MC is... more aggressive with his feeling and... desire I would say. I love bullying Washizawa Natsuo (ML) "physically" to see his cute reaction. Yes, the manga is quite smutty.
In the manga, ML is a cute & "dumb" pretty boy. He is bubbly, childlike and get shy really easily (especially when MC "bully" him). Appearance wise, it really look like the MC in this adaptation. But here, they did a bit of a switcheroo making him more manly. Ngl, the cute & "dumb" personality fit more a younger pretty boy.
Just to throw it out there, MC was the Top and ML the Bottom. I don't think it matter in this adaptation as they clearly tuned down this aspect of the story to make it more of a wholesome Shonen-Ai (than the original quite smutty Yaoi).
After that, this cannot be compared any further as this adaptation mainly took the setting (basically episode 1) and expended their own story afterward.
That being said, I still enjoy this. It's cute & easy to watch. Some find it boring but I like the "Slice of Life" vibe personally. No heavy trauma, no plot twist out of nowhere. You can turn off your brain and enjoy this peaceful & cute ride. :)
Good thing for him it's a drama, they will have a happy ending and not being murdered like it would happen IRL. :D
