I like the chemistry between main leads, but I really dislike that the main theme is lying. How could they be…
Well I think it doesn't go so much in the show but apparently in the novel Kuea has been at boarding school in the UK since he was seven and although I'm sure he came back up for holidays and breaks, While Lian also at boarding school so that means they actually didn't really spend a lot of time together once they were in school. So now with Kuea having turned 20, a lot of years being separated.

What you didn't understand, it's not too complicated, there is not a lot of plot there,
Really emotive behind it because he said it out of anger Kuea was keeping secrets from him. He didn't mean like I don't love you it should have been phrase like I don't like your behavior or like I don't like that you're not being yourself or whatever.

It’s the first time I comment here. There are a few things, I feel we just have to accept because it is an Asian…
Originally had this huge long post already done but I pressed something and poof gone. Basically what I was saying is if Lian and his parents hands off approach to basically letting him live his own life from a young age was what was really best for him he wouldn't have grown up into somebody who's actually very insecure and feels as if he is not loved. Even though we're given the overall image that he's very much loved and he's been raised obviously with a lot of privilege because he's never had to do anything basic for himself this hasn't let him to grow up to be a confident person obviously, cuz if he was confident with who he is he wouldn't have felt that he has to hide and lie everybody. Because and this is just based on my experience when the love of your parents is unconditional you would know that no matter what they would accept you for who you are but obviously he never felt that because he had this need to hide who he really was. Also feel that with this kind of hands off approach some of his needs weren't being met like having physical affection or verbal affirmation that your loved. I mean I'm only going off what I had heard from the books since we haven't really met his dad in the present but apparently in the books his dad's a very cold person so I'm just going off my assumption that he probably didn't get a lot of physical affection or verbal affection from that end although I could be wrong and somebody who's read the books could contradict me. I think all this is what led to him having the breakdown when he was drunk and just basically begging Lian to love him. It's kind of interesting though because you know at the beginning when he Lian said he didn't love him and that the engagement was just an obligation, when has he actually ever said that he loved him even physically shown him we're never really told that so I'm making assumption that he has never said or shown it so I think that makes what he said the fact that he said he doesn't love him that much more hurtful because he's not ever actually physically or verbally shown it either. You know I was thinking to myself then you know it's actually really sad that from the outside he looks like he's had this great life he's basically been given everything but the two things that you basically need to have self worth and confidence.

I agree with you in most of these things. I personally find quite a few of the people with negative opinions about…
I don't think it's that he didn't think they were returned exactly. I think that's as he said at the beginning he was Kuea's companion through most of his childhood. So I guess because he's never known anything else he was questioning that he might not really love him? But to be honest Kuea always been upfront that he loves him and he's not afraid to say he loves him.

As for the facade that Kuea hides behind it's brought about by what he thinks his parents and by extension Lian wants to see. I personally don't think he thought his love was fake necessarily but that he was angry that he felt he had to hide his true self from him.

Did you find it interesting that they're like a reflection of each other. So Kuea thinks that Lian wants to see this obedient, and proper person. Lian sees the way Kuea is dressed and thinks he also wants to see someone who always is properly dressed and formal I guess. Each presenting what they think the other wants to see. It's just we see more of it through Kuea's few and inner thoughts.

Thank you for such a well thought out explanation.I don't think he knew about the Korean producer because if so…
Thing is is it's not even Lian wanting to make it his home I think it's that he always tends to put himself second. Your comment about him putting him on the counter which would place them above him kind of reminded me of the bedroom. Kuea is basically like royalty so is that also pointing out that he feels that Kuea is more deserving of the larger room than he is?

Thank you for such a well thought out explanation.

I don't think he knew about the Korean producer because if so he could have volunteered to take Yi home. But instead commented about how he made a promise to come back as soon as possible.

I Also find it interesting that even in his own home he gave him the master suite and took the smaller bedroom

As for why he didn't recognize him when he was drunk I'd read a comment about how there was a disconnect there too because he never actually seen him in casual clothing. And so that's why he actually couldn't recognize him because he kept thinking oh he wouldn't wear that type of clothing.

Also if anything I think it was Lian being groomed because from the moment he met Kuea his life stop being his own, since he was basically being prepared to look after this person or at least that's my thought.

As for Diao from what I have heard his father was verbally and emotionally abusive and the rest of his family is t much better. They are basically using him as a cash cow. So I think that is why he appears timid and fearful.

Even in the preview for episode 7 Kuea mentions that His is acting weird and he says I like it when you make a fuss, it's funny. I will keep teasing you like this for a really long time πŸ˜†

My favorite scenes are when he stands up to Lian, an episode 6 part 3 says if he doesn't back up he'll bite him, and he says oh scary πŸ˜‚.

I actually started watching this firstly b/c youtube kept bringing it up instead of the next NotMe ep. and b/c…
I love your explanations πŸ™‚. From what I understand for his family situation the only person who doesn't know is Kuea. His family had run into some difficulties and so in order to help them out Lian has been buying up their properties because they knew that if he bought them they'd be easier for them to buy back later as opposed to selling to a stranger. It's not like it's a secret really it's just a secret from Kuea, Lian actually had planned to tell him at some point he finds out before he can tell him.

I think it was on YouTube somebody had said that the scene in the book actually takes place much later and is a lot more problematic. In the books he's actually very resistant to the point where he pushes Lian away and then when they do kiss he actually doesn't reciprocate right away but then because of Lian's since he eventually gives in. I love the way they changed the scene.

Why were the cctv cameras planted in the first place?Their first kiss happened when Kuea was drunk and he didn't…
Also I think it was on YouTube somebody was saying that the last scene in episode 6 the kissing scene took place later in the book and was so much worse. Because apparently in the book he's super resistant and when Lian to kiss him he actually pushes him away and appears deeply uncomfortable but because Lian is insistent eventually he gives in. This is just comparison but I think what they did in the show was beautiful. Lian is constantly stopping to check his reactions to make sure he's okay. Also somebody said by moving the scene up when they actually do become intimate later it makes it less awkward since they've already had to make out session in the kitchen πŸ˜‚

For the drunk scene I think all his emotions just overwhelmed him after all the person he loves the most is finely giving him a glimpse of how really feels and was pretty much starved for touch. Someone else said the CCTVs were installed because he worked 24/7 and was never home lol saying that he knew that if you told him to stay Kuae would stay, the fact he wasn't staying he was in the process of sneaking out when he came home early πŸ˜‚
