I just rewatched after many years. I started after the most difficult early episodes because I couldn’t live through that pain again. I had forgotten many of the details so I truly enjoyed it as much the second time around. The final episode is really a gem. Every character gets to live their best or worst life. Her ex was one of the most despicable characters ever and his outcome was so, so satisfying. SFL was the usual delusional woman and really didn’t get what was coming to her. Now to the leads. I love both of them and their chemistry is always amazing. They were also terrific in KMHM. This is one of my more memorable dramas.

I agree with your analysis. It would be nice to imagine that eventually they can be true to themselves and reveal their true natures. Perhaps after living together and creating their own memories together, they would both be confident enough to be honest with each other. That would make a great part 2 episode.

Great points! Yes I was totally fooled too until the first cigarette scene. This did not feel like a VD at all. The acting wasn’t cheesy and the plot was interesting and brilliantly executed. I would love to see him in a long form drama. He never disappoints. I don’t know if I’ve seen the FL before but she was also excellent.!

Someone else commented that she knew based on how he held his teacup. They also said that she might have replaced the letter from his mother with a blank sheet of paper. They both chose to live a lie for the sake of their own desires. It was truly thought provoking and good enough to be a full series drama.

This was a thought provoking, interesting drama that made me think more than any VD ever has. The added bonus was my favorite, sexy Mao Xiayu. He can play so many roles. I watch everything he is in and most of his dramas have good story lines as well. Even if they didn’t, I would watch for all his steamy scenes. I would love to see him in a full length mainstream drama.

Love your perceptive skill in decoding that last scene. I thought she figured it out too but I didn’t realize the teacup was a giveaway. For a vertical drama this one really has some deep situations which you analyzed so well. It really makes you think about what anyone perceives as true or false. Also, is it wrong to live an illusion if it makes you happy and doesn’t hurt anyone? They were both living a lie for their own happiness. I’ve never watched a VD that made me think so much!

Also, I saw someone commented on your poor taste in music. I will never understand why some people are so mean and even need to make such comments. I use MDL to share opinions and analysis with other fans of dramas. Although I don’t always agree, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and shouldn’t be insulted. Sometimes I think people just randomly look to insult others as a way to feel superior. I just don’t get it!

I absolutely love the faces between the director and Jun Hyeo. They are hysterical. And when they are joined by JuA and the VP the banter between the 4 of them is so funny. All of the characters are din to watch. This drama has maintained its quality through 22 episodes.

She’s a horrible person. She does a lot of sneaky things being their backs and then acts all innocent and sweet.

Most VD aren’t that great but I love to watch them anyway. This was one of the better ones. Typical plot but done in an interesting way. I love that FL and she did not disappoint. First time seeing the ML and he was really good. Great chemistry and ending.

Yes! That was she character and she played it perfectly. She also lost a lot of weight for Marry My Husband and I don’t recall if she got as much hate for that. Many men gain or lose weight for acting roles and they are celebrated for that. I hope she doesn’t see many of these negative comments and let it take away from her outstanding performance in this role.

Yes, people want her role to be what they expect it to be rather than the complex character shaped by her tragic experiences and past. I think she played that role perfectly. Her stoic demeanor and inability to smile were caused by the repeated tragedies in her life and her goal to avenge her father. I went back and watched the final scenes and you can see her emerging happier personality. The final screen of them in front of her fathers painting with the voice over of him explaining that the pain never totally goes away with their facial and body gestures is really superb. They are both excellent actors and it’s frustrating to read the negative comments from people who as usual hide behind a screen and can’t appreciate their talent.
