Also you bring up a good point. Will takes Joey as someone he needs to coddle, whereas Jimmy is trying to change his initial impression he gave to Joey. I still hate the jerk-to-lover troupe, but I think you are hitting the mark about will. I'm hoping it's more of a he realizes he's more of a brother than a possession.

Jajajaja!! And just like that I find myself in the Jimmy group...these are strange times.
Yes! That is so true, and to back up you're point, when Nuan was talking about why he liked Joey he didn't bring up qualities, he just stated he liked him, which is fine, but from what we've been shown it's surface level. Will and Jimmy are the only two who kind of know more about Joey. So now I'm really curious to see how this unfolds

Yes! Exactly! I feel that's where Thailand falls short in there narrative.

Jimmy is being seen in a new light. Yeah especially since Joey talked with Jimmy's mom. He would want to be the opposite of his dad and be there for the baby, so the conflict might be more of who he will love either the baby's mother or Joey, since they are steering the narrative that way.

Thank you ʘ‿ʘ
Right, people forgot no one is truly evil that circumstances, events, etc. can shape a person. Yeah America is big on "them versus us" ugh! I think that's why doctor and Steven universe especially are revolutionary for showing that just listening and talking can actually be a solution.
Which when you think about it...Joey and Jimmy actually converse. Like Will and Nuan talk at Joey, but Jimmy actually takes it in...oh no am I actually supporting Jimmy (●__●)

Yeah I remember that I'm just trying to figure out where the conversation diverged, lol. My keyboard is small so alot of my typing is off so I'm not sure what we're talking about.
I don't think will is psychotic, but I can see him getting Uber possessive to the point he would sabotage maybe

Jajajaja! Tío right! It's like that episode of doctor who when the alien was like "I spared this one human I felt good about", and the doctor is like "yeah...but you still murdered hundreds so..."
I'm just not sure what his character will do. Like is he gonna attempt to still be with the girl and flirt with Joey?
I mean I'll keep watching cause BL Is the only gay media out here...still needs work but imma watch it ◉‿◉

For me, unless couples are protested as asexual it just feels odd that they are sooo in love not to show it. I…
I think you missed my point...I don't think, you did.
I said LGBTQ is not their intended audience, never said it couldn't be enjoyed by gay folk like myself.

Also, that's a bit of internalized homophobia there. Couples don't have to be on display with their relationship, and it's cool if they aren't or even into PDA. My point is that the fourth wall is broken because behind closed doors their relationship is still performative for the viewers sitting at their screens because they act as guarded and distant as if they are out in public. My question is why? Again they don't have to have sex or make out, but they don't feel like a couple who are boyfriends. This has nothing to do with "straight-acting" a homophobic, problematic te in itself even if that were that is still an issue because now you're saying that anything other isn't worthy of love...like what if Tine was fem then would you still say what you said? Also that's what I mean by not the target audience, these are mostly based of Fujoshi desires that have little knowledge of gay people and again, there is nothing wrong with fantasy fluff, but at some point it is irresponsible to portray queer people in locked stereotypes because the author could be bothered otherwise and that is the crux of my rebuttal to you
It's also a privileged attitude to dismiss the fact, as a preference of viewer ship based on your myopic minded opinion, and internal homophobia. Yes gays can have homophobia ask yourself this. Why would you be ok with "straight acting" representation when that means anything other isn't worthy of viewer ship. Don't you think that is damaging?

the leads behave too straight to be a couple. when they sleep on the the bed how can they stay so away from each…
I wouldn't say they are "too straight" they just lack the chemistry/intimacy to be a believable couple. That's why everyone else is more enjoyable to watch

In the past I'm wondering why do I like this show and I think I found the answer now. I think it's all about preference.…
For me, unless couples are protested as asexual it just feels odd that they are sooo in love not to show it. I don't mean physical or kissing, but they don't feel like romantic partners. Like we're being told oh they are a couple oh they love each other, but when we see them in the same space they act like they rather be somewhere else.

For me personally I find some of their moments cute, but falls into that trap alone. I get it LGBTQ+ are not the true target audience, but when we are side looped into a wish fulfilment narrative that's when actual discourse, for me, comes up. Considering it's only been recently where same gender loving gets this amount of screen time, yet their private lives, the characters, are being treated as still having a viewing audience so the fact they stay distant gives the feel of "oh we know they are a couple but we still don't find this genuine" unlike most counter parts, straight, don't get that same treatment. Again as you said preference can dictate people's opinions. It's just like anything LGBTQ+ is always given a little less and people defending that less because it's comfortable to them, is a bit selfish

Few things...
First chemistry is getting better, they actually look more like a couple. However know that the head patting has been brought up, its like Way does it every scene and it's annoying
Thank God Dim and Green have calmed down this episode and Dim was actually being considerate! So the pacing felt good.
Wat: I'll kiss you to you drop
Tine: you say that but I never seem to drop
Me: maybe because y'all never kiss
Tine+Way:...
Me: maybe you as actors are uncomfortable?

Also I love how they are trying to give us the "feels" with Tine missing Way, but they don't have solid chemistry so this just feels... overly codependent. Actually it feels like Wat died, like why is he reminiscing? Fam, he been gone less than five days. Trust cause when he's there you avoid him. There's a lot of telling us they care for each other, but we do see it much

Phukong and Mill...Yay! Head pat...oh no

Make-up, do they not know how to blend? Also the lips are really starting to stick out. Pink is fine, but it is too bright on them...

Boss and Man's stories are so adorable

Pawin may be light skinned, but he isn't a very actractive guy, so for me it fits. It seems that on the novel…
Ah. Now I understand what you mean. Ok that's understandable. My response is still somewhat the same. Like it's fine to stay true to source material as possible. However that can be detrimental. Just because they book has the character fair skinned, it still begs the question why is that the default? That is the Crux of my reasoning, that there should be representation of a country as a whole. It is irresponsible to exclude based on social acceptance of that makes sense.

Now I've never read the books because I don't speak Thai, or they haven't been translated, but yes Type was odd looking next to his darker skinned father.

The point still stands that it isn't an issue to cast dark-skinned folks in "fair" roles because that shouldn't be a thing, but to cast fair skinned people is problematic because it gives the impression that that's all there is or that that's all that's worth to be shown. That's the inherent issue showing one side and acting as if the other does not exist. I'm all for following the book when it comes to the narrative. But the characters loose no integrity when the main group is fair-skinned and cast with non-fair.

You're right. I hadn't realised the amount of episodes and the "parts" being released the way they are, so yes h could grow on us. Sometimes he's not a jerk, it's just his quick turnaround so early, so I'm guess the other guys will be the conflict.
True it's already not a typical BL. Which in itself is redeeming to an extent. Part 1 of ep.4 is up so we shall see

The point I'm making is, not many people dismiss light skin guys as unattractive, especially in these dramas. They are telling a narrative that doesn't fit with the casting. Never said the casting wasn't fair, but ask yourself why is there so little diversity in these dramas. That's my point. That Thailand has brown skinned people too who more often than not a relegated to comic relief, side characters because of their darker skin or not being "conventionally" attractive.
Check out Comet I love you. It does a good job of showing this. You won't find details on here because it's a show from Vietnam, but it's a start.

I'm interested but the premise is... unrealistic. They are all fair-skinned and conventionally attractive. How is he self-conscious about his looks? Please don't say well he can be, maybe so, but it's super unlikely. If they actually cast dark-skinned Thai folk who always seem to be in the margins, as the lead and show Thai colorism issues, I'd believe it
It's still too early to tell, but it has the 2moons vibe
