What a strange episode. It feels like 3 episodes were cut to pieces and patched together. A Motorcycle of Doom? Well, I guess. And a record-setting redemption arc for CR? well OK. And of course, the inevitable return of SJ. That slap had to hurt, BTW.
But honestly, how do you ever walk back "I would never have adopted you"? A statement like that would forever stain their relationship, no? And how are we to believe that CR's acceptance of him would be sincere? "A man like him"!? Put me in the CR is behind the return of SJ camp. She and big dong may be up to something.
Oddly, what stands out to me is in the hospital scene, look at the other male patient the doctor is talking to on the right. I swear, it's KS's double! Looks just like him, same kind of clothes, same hairstyle. What the heck?????
I'm trying to distract myself from this afternoon's dental appointment, so since it's a quiet Thursday, here are a couple more things bouncing around in my head, regarding YM & The fortune teller....
YM - I'll take a guess and say her arc is pretty much done in the series now. The handwriting was on the wall when SK's mom showed up, and now that they realize they're in-laws, that will put the kibosh on their relationship (although I think they can still be married, legally?) They really haven't figured out what to do with her character since TK/YD moved out of the annex, and other than those few scenes as SK's manager and mom-to-be, she seems to be the fish out of water now. They don't even feature her/DW in the previews anymore. I'll predict she'll move back to the US to resume her doctorate and avoid any future uncomfortable family gatherings, while DW reunites with SK's mom (why else would they have brought her back?). Too bad, she was easily the prettiest girl in the series . Maybe they'll bring her back for the wedding in the series finale (if there is one).
The fortune teller- OK, this is kind of out-there, but given the stupidity of the story-line we've been subjected to, why not? I want to continue to support that fortune teller's part of the plot, even though the writers may have said "f- it". So, here goes: Something happens to Hee's son, and he needs a transplant/transfusion/marrow donation/whatever. The kid has a rare blood type (of course) and Hee tells Dr's "don't worry, I know a donor" - his father, DS. She breaks the news to DS and begs him to save her son, which he does and they reconcile to be a family. Then, DUM-DUM-DUM he gets her pregnant (despite her age). As they are not in any financial situation to raise another child, they decide to offer the baby to CM/SJ as a means of atonement for her sins to them. CM/SJ accept (with Granny's and her parents blessing) and the Fortune Teller's prediction comes true - DS's kid found him and CM/SJ's child will have 2 fathers. Obviously there will have to be a timeskip or two for make this work.
Sounds crazy, right? What about this series has made any sense lately? Oh well, I didn't think about the dentist for the 10 minutes it took me to write this, so I guess that's a win for me. To the long-post police, my apologies.
This is the reason why SJ gets by with treating everyone she thinks is beneath her as trash and can say whatever…
I remember she was at the office that day her father wet his pants in the mens room...I think that's the last time I recall her being at the office??? That was a lot of episodes ago for my brain.
The subbed version is USUALLY available between noon and 1:30 PM Pac. Daylight Time Saturday & Sunday on Kokowa. There were a few rare times when they had server issues and it was delayed several hours.
I haven't been in the comments for a while. I just noticed that the MDL rating has fallen below 8. Is there any…
Young Lady & Gentlemen was the leader in that category I think (7.2 rating with a then-whopping 8800+ comments). But TRHC blew it away in by the time Ep 32 came along. From what I've noticed, high comment counts indicate something has riled up the fan base here and it's usually not good news. This forum has essentially become a self-help group for those of us trying to follow along with this mess of a series.

I always felt she got the foundation job because she needed something to do. In the early part of the show, she was at that job quite often. Now, you hardly ever see her leave the house.
I don’t think we will get a kiss until the very end. If Sun Ju is alive they will want to preserve the chaste…
I wish someone would remind CR that is was KS who risked his own health to break down a door to rescue her daughter who was having a panic attack in a locked storeroom. I'd like to see her excuse for putting him down after that reminder (ep 15)
While still entertaining, 99 still leaves us frustrated and angry at CR. And darnit, there is KS cleaning up the dishes that CR tossed yesterday!!! STOP IT, YOU ARE NOT THE HOUSEKEEPER!!!! I was especially disappointed that she went to the effort to talk to DH about the situation and he did his duty, as her father. Yet since CR didn't get the answer she wanted, she said that she'll 'forget the conversation happened'. And she said 'i cannot let MY daughter....' instead of 'i cannot let OUR daughter....' Great, you have a real open mind there, lady.
Right now, the only protectors MR has are her grandpa and dad. But Grandpa is pulling his punches as far as telling off his daughter (for now). The cutest part was watching YeJu pumping MR for the dirt on little Dong. Those two actresses really stole the show for me in that episode. YeJu's eye-rolling thru the episode was the only thing that had me smiling. And at least KS stood his ground with CR at the end and told her he would not give up on his feelings for MR.
The comparisons with InOk's character flip in TRHC are inevitable. The difference here for me, is that InOk's change was so sudden and extreme that it was simply unbelievable and absurd. But here, it's different: CR's subtle snobbery has always lurked in the background, and her unwillingness to confront her father on how SHE wants to raise MR always left me uneasy. I can believe that with the stakes this high, CR has ditched the mask she's hid behind all these years and shown her true self. If she resorts to outright bribery in Ep 100, and fails, what next then???
I was hoping that we'd get something special in ep100, like maybe a kiss?(I'd even settle for a peck at this point). But we seem to be far from that.
I've got to run and start the day's chores here, so I'll check back later this afternoon after seeing 99. One thing I've been thinking about:
CR's concern she keeps harping on is that MR would have to raise a teenage daughter. Well, she had to raise a teenage MR, so was that some kind of nightmare for her? I mean, let's get real. It did occur to me last night, after seeing the updated show promo that KBS AMERICA is airing for AOME (they've toned down the rebellious-daughter angle now) is how much they've changed JD's character, from the frantic hellion to a girl who thinks first, before acting. I think the turning point for her was seeing the accident victim/potential mom at the rehab center. That really seemed to "take the wind out of her sails"and she became much easier to deal with for everyone. Am I mistaken? I don't know how realistic that is, given teenager's hormones running amok, but that's how it I think it went.
