CR seriously just needs her a** beat. “How dare you think you can be with my daughter?” “How could you?…
I am so furious with CR. This man you trusted your father's health to, and who has made him so much healthier than when he started is now somehow "someone like him"???? And the chairman, with the side-eyed put-down of their love for each other. MiRae needs to move out, ASAP. Problem is, where to????
Woo Hee as real 🍓's daughter would work best for everyone tbh. Very friendly to leads so that would be best…
Even if Hee is not straw-daughter, she'll be back. They showed her kid meeting CM/SJ for a reason, afterwards. I think you're right, that boy will be some kind of bridge. I keep going back to what the Fortune Teller said about how CM/SJ baby would have 2 fathers, including Uncle. And how uncle's child would find him. I have a crazy theory on how to service this, but I am guessing we're supposed to ignore the Fortune Teller now, since that was soooooo long ago.
I'm in the Hee-as-daughter camp. At some point in the past, Hee & Nun crossed paths, she heard the story of Hee's background, and stole the shirt. She's kept it all this time in case she needs to adopt false identity due to her nefarious past. The fact that Strawberry's mom is rich is Jackpot time! Bigger question for me is how did Strawberry's DNA get into the system?
Time to give CR the "Lee InOk Useless Mom of the Year" Award. And to me, CR is even worse: She adopts this girl…
Living in that family as an adoptee seems to always have made her a 2nd-class citizen. This is why I agree with all of you that she needs to move out. She has an independent streak and is smart and assertive, but this gets subsided when she's at home. It's also why living with a manipulative creep like little dong would have been the worst thing for her.
MR saying she can't live without KS. CR upset how she can say that. Honestly i don't know what Manseok full intentions…
Time to give CR the "Lee InOk Useless Mom of the Year" Award. And to me, CR is even worse: She adopts this girl into her family, barely protects her from her father's opposition, and when her daughter falls in love with a good man, she opposes it. Why would you bring her into your family if you were going to bring her pain when she's grown? SIGH.
OK, fine they've lowered themselves to bringing in a scammer dressed as a Nun. So, here's the fix: Nun + JH perpetuate scam to 1. get money for her 2. vengeance for him. But, scam is exposed, Gong's press charges for Fraud, KJH is jailed and he's written out of the story. Takes 4 episodes (43-46) and we get 4 episodes with only SJ to get rid of. WTOD, where are youuuuuu?
The writers giveth and taketh away in this one. After trying to convince us that all is forgiven and back to normal in Ep 41, this episode starts out strong and is really pretty good, until the appearance of “Strawberry’s Daughter” in the last third of the show. The performance of Kang BooJa as Granny carried this episode (again) and hers is the most amazing, yet likeable redemption arcs I’ve ever seen.
While this Episode was rolling, it FINALLY addresses most of the things we’ve all been asking about: - YD discovers the truth about SJ and the scooter accident – it was JongHo that saved her - YD discovers that KJH cheated on her with SJ - JM discovers it WAS KJH that was kicked out of NX Group lobby - CS discovers all the truth about SJ/KJH from YD/TK - SK discovers a pic of her dad with the ‘café-lady’as high-schoolers. - And incredibly, the youngest couple discovers they’re in-laws (Hallelujah!)
It also contains one of the most dramatic scenes we’ve seen in a while: ChanSik confronts SJ/KJH in his office surrounded by his oldest children and YD. He really rips them both a new one, firing SJ on the spot (FINALLY!) and as we’ve all celebrated, bitch-slaps KJH with a smack-down pleasing to both eyes and ears. And he finishes them off with a threat that KJH is too vain, pompous and stupid to heed. Hey, KJH: This is nouveau-riche vs. The Establishment. The Establishment wins every time, dumb-ass.
So, for the Nun: We’re to believe that 20 years ago, (why is everything in this show 20 years ago???) Strawberry died. Sometime before that, she registered herself with the Missing Persons Center. Question #1 – was that center around back then? Question #2 – Could someone (descendent) have registered her post-mortem? Question #3 – Did the police vet the identity of the Nun? Question #4 – What is the Nun’s name? It was never revealed. Question #5 – What nun enthusiastically embraces a stranger and calls her Grandmother? Nuns are generally more reserved than that, IMO.
And of course, for the final kick in our teeth, the Nun is KJH’s sister. Uh Huh, RIGHT. It was going all so well up to then. We even had a really well-done Gong Family Meeting that wasn’t saccharin-like and where Granny tells them how much they all mean to her. Unfortunately, they close with a cliffhanger ending that leaves us rolling our eyes.
8 Episodes to go. All I can think of is: “What next?”
Did you catch the name of the fake nun? Sounded very much like the uncle’s former girlfriend who befriended…
I suspected the same, but the name they gave when she was presented was "Sim Myung Hee's Daughter" Did they ever say her real name yet? Thus, Sim Myung Hee = Strawberry (supposedly). Did she steal the baby's shirt from the actual daughter?
Sigh, knowing how the episode ended and writer once more clowning hard I have little motivation for writing this…
Well, I guess that's one way to look at it. I started writing a synopsis of last nights and then just gave up. My visceral reaction to seeing InOk was anger and revulsion....now I'm supposed to be like, "hi dear!" And I'm still ticked off at YD, but we just let that go? Ay yi yi
I've seen about 1/3 of todays (42?) and was raring to go to write something, but then this whole nun thing and the preview made me barf. I feel like they have such contempt for us, they just figure that they can get anything by and we're too dim-witted to notice (like KJH being able to rename the baby on his own with the stroke of a pen).
When I get frustrated with the ridiculous storyline I come here to read the comments. This usually calms me down…
TK needs to realize YD doesn't want a lover or mate. She wants a partner to help her raise and protect HN. That's the extent of her affection for him. If that's enough for him, fine, but he will need to lower his expectations from her.
I can't believe what I saw on the YT clips and the comments here. Seriously? THIS is the direction they are taking the Strawberry theme?
There is no way, NO WAY I believe this is the same writer that came up with the early episodes and even the meeting with Jae's family. Someone that creative could not have dumped this dreck on us. I truly believe that this now is the work of some group of hack writers that have been given the show to drag it across the finish line and get it over with.
And the chairman, with the side-eyed put-down of their love for each other. MiRae needs to move out, ASAP. Problem is, where to????

What a damn shame.
