I'm still around ep16, and I'm really loving it so far and I kinda like the pacing. Would you advise me to keep…
never draggy. the writing is consistent and the plot gets more interesting. It feels like a journey. Very smooth. I finished it and it sticks in my memory.
I liked it. Some dramas, this one especially, will stick in your mind long after you've watched them. I believe I will rewatch the last episode a few times.
I'm going to give it a try but honestly I'm not much of a fan for either lead. I did like Ethan Ruan in Fated to Love You, loved that drama, but I haven't seen him in anything since. He's not my idea of a "hunk". Well, there ARE so many beautiful Chinese male actors. Maybe I'm spoiled.
wow!! Completed, Am speechless how Sima Yi turn thing around, he is the mastermind , the architech , but too sad…
I think your post is a spoiler. I'm going to mark my reply as a spoiler. The emperor wasn't sad about giving up the throne, it made him free to enjoy life with the empress.
Perfection. Beautiful, satisfying to watch. Finished it. Only complaint? Whoever did the wardrobe for Elvis Han, I want to ring their neck. He's a very handsome man but somehow they made him look awful. Maybe they were afraid to let him overshadow others?
add this → someone falls in a pool, water isn't over their head but they have to be rescued. Or falls in water, gets out and immediately clothing is dry. This one bugs me
Never thought about the just standing there thing. Funny! Now I'm going to notice that all the time. The wooden kisses? Awful. Who is the cause of that? Actors that hate eat other put into romantic scenes? Actress trying to appear pure or something (like oh she hates it?) Or is it the director who thinks this is good? What is the cause of the block of wood kisses. Which are a buzzkill by the way.
This drama is strangely addictive. But let me talk about the CLOTHES. They are horrible. I have to do it now, while watching Ep 17. Tacky clothes. OMG. The worst is how the men are dressed. So far they've dressed the male lead Yi Yi in a purple suit, a bright plaid suit, a bright blue suit, and for a few episodes he was sort of normal. Now here's Ep 17, he's wearing a suit with a black jacket with white lapels, white handerchief and white bow tie. I'm afraid to see what they dress him in later in the drama, this is just 17 episodes of hot mess so far.
I don't know whether to laugh or what. How can this not be a joke? But it doesn't seem to be. → The females wardrobe is less weird but it does remind me of the 80s in some cases.
→ As for the other men in the drama, no one is wearing a suit that fits, they are mostly baggy. And have wide lapels. Nothing tailored looking. → The 2nd lead, Xiang Yang (played by Prince Chiu) has really weird hair, looks like it's stiff with spray. And his suits never fit. And you can tell he's actually very good looking under that. Why am I whining like this? Because the actors are attractive and doing a good job and deserve better. It's just a shame that the wardrobe is so tacky. → End of rant. Now back to watching the drama while sometimes pretending this isn't happening.
I think he's very handsome, but looks oldish paired with her. I like both of the leads but yeah, the chemistry…
still I keep watching it. And I'll drop a drama in a minute if I get bored. It's just that I love the lead actors even though they aren't exactly well matched. And the idea of her seeing her life clock.
SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!Do you realise how selfish it is to post spoilers in so much detail when no one asked you??…
Naddy, the problem with your comment is that you wrote a synopsis of the drama, and yes you put spoilers in it. Who wants to watch a drama when someone has told them the story and the ending? Could you edit your original comment to mask it as a spoiler? That way people who haven't seen the drama won't be deterred from watching it.
I believe I will rewatch the last episode a few times.
I look forward to each episode to see what happens next.
I've dropped a lot of dramas because they were lacking, this one has good writing, good acting, and the plot is simmering.

Getting out etc.

I'm not looking for "Legend of Hua Mulan (2013) with Kuo Dylan
I could really get behind that.
