Look, her voice is always as the director wants to have it. Otherwise they wouldn’t let her dubb her roles. She is voice actress, she dubbs also movies (like Gwen in Spiderman) and she is praised for her dubbing.
In this drama, her character is 3 years old (in fact like 16 years old but with completely erased memory 3 years ago, when she was due to it like a toddler). So she is talking and behaving like a 3 years old. And as she matures through the drama, her voice changes. After her memory is back, her voice is more matured. Her voice is exactly as her character’s voice in original game from which this drama is adapted (you can check the game on youtube and you will see what is the voice supposed to be like).
So sorry, if you have problem with baby voice, skip this drama. But the drama is great, the plot as well as acting (of all). Worth to watch, I’m already rewatching.

I think there is no english translation of this novel. I copied native title in chinese (the novel has the same title as the drama) and googled. And then used google translator. It is not the best (translation from chinese is not perfect), but I understood most of it.

You cannot outgrow something that is required for the character you are playing. If you do, you cannot get the role.
But luckily, Esther is great actress as well as great dubber, that’s why she did perfectly in this drama. With her acting as well as her voice.
It’s you here who should grow up.. The basic thing you can do is to find more info about the topic you want to talk about. This way you won’t make fool of yourself. Most of the people in this discussion know why Esther uses this voice, so they know how silly your comment is..

It was different in that variety show. They were carefull, didn’t do anything more dangerous and in case someone would get hurt, they would find someone else (it wouldn’t matter too much in variety show).
But in a drama - you cannot just replace the actor in the middle.. Besides, in the novel, LinYi’s character is top snowboarder who jumps very high, that’s nothing LinYi would be able to do even after many months of training. And also Esther’s character gets to the point where she is pretty good and very fast on snowboard. Given Esther’s attitude to fast ride, I doubt she would dare to try it all without stunt (o:
And in fact - this is ideal sport for having stunts for it. They have helmet, cover for the lower part of the face and goggles on the upper part. So the stunt can look totally different from the actor and it doesn’t matter - only body proportions have to be similar.
So I guess all scenes when they will be really snowboarding (= jumping, riding fast etc.) will do stunts.

The ending is in fact happy one, optimistic one. But before the ending, one cries a lot. It’s very emotional thanks to great acting, they did very well. I really recommend you to watch, the story is great, the acting is great, I loved it and I’m rewatching (o:

In fact, it makes perfect sense. Zhu Yu is mystical beast, originally pure and kindharted. Why is it so difficult to accept the fact that she would feel responsible for people she (although involuntary) hurt? And wants to help them? Even among people there are some who help others that are totally unrelated to them. Some are even ready to risk their life for other people they don’t know. And is it dumb? I consider it as amazing and admire it. Like that divers who risked their lives to save kids (football team) from the cave in Thailand few years ago. It was extremely dangerous, one of them died, but they still decided to save the boys, total strangers.

You consider it as messed up? Really? Well, OK, I consider it as perfectly reasonable ending, where everything was explained so clearly that there is nothing left I could complain about. Great story. But maybe too complicated for some people to understand? You really have to pay attention to all dialogs and details, which can be too difficult for some watchers. There are many who want to just have fun without having to think too much and this story is really nothing for them.. I myself understood the plot and like it very much..

Because the remaining life of that first person was too short (he had one year left), so it was not enough for Jin Zhao’s life. So Yue Qi also had to sacrifice something (all her memories and memories of others about her, and probably part of her life - as a beast, her life was pretty long). Zhu Yu - she is originally kindharted beast with no bad intentions. So when she caused destroying of Yu clan, she felt guilty and wanted to help them and undo her “mistake”. But she needed more power to do so, that’s why orbs came to game. And that humans die because of that? She doesn’t understand it’s not good, all she understands is that she destroyed Yu clan and wants to help.
Xuwei on the other hand can see what Kun could cause to six realms, could destroy them with all beings in them. So sacrifying some humans is better than let destroy the whole world. It’s not the ultimate solution to the problem, but it can get some time to find better solution - which is in the end Qi, who is the only one who can destroy her mother. Zhu Yu obviously understands this problem (that she will loose her mind and will be dangerous), so she agrees with the plan.
And to the final battle - Qi is using her special powers, her power is to create sword from her thoughts. Jin Zhao tries first to distract crazy Zhu Yu to let Qi regain her contiousness, he thinks Zhu Yu is harming Qi, so he fights Zhu Yu first. And he is harmed. Then (after distracting Zhu Yu) uses mindlink to wake up Qi (who is no longer attacked and being harmed by Zhu Yu). And he succeeds, Qi is woken up and changes her thinking so that she can create sword strong enough to destroy/hybernate Zhu Yu.
The final - Qi sacrifises herself for Jin Zhao, that’s why she is forgotten. But XuWei sacrifises himself as well, that’s why Qi can be reborn as well as JinZhao. But his life is not enough, so Wi’s memories and memories of JinZhao are also used. Both Qi and JinZhao are reborn, but for the price of their memories - nobody remembers them and they don’t remember each other. But they still somehow, deep inside, know they belong together.

It’s such a lighter tone that it made me cry as hell from ep. 29 to the end. And not just me.. How can you talk about something you didn’t watch? You really think 8 episodes out of 36 is enough to know??

According to what she writes, she finished only 8 episodes (and she even says some shorter versions), so in fact she has no idea what this drama is about. So her rating is also just a joke and can’t be taken seriously..

That guy from MJTY and SF6, is it the one in SF6 that was accompanying Maiming? His servant or friend? Because he seemed so familiar to me, but I couldn’t remember from where. In MJTY, it was the guy that died, from the mountains, right?

Esther’s role in this is like two persons. Her original character is more serious inside (I mean it is not some naive cute girl), but the plot is about girl transmigrated into a book where she is supposed to act as a character Ling from a novel. And this character tries to act as cute and naive, so she has to follow and act like that. But inside (her inner thoughts) she is more serious. But if they will follow the novel, later she will be less like Ling and more like her original character. So we will probably see both - cute and naive Esther as well as serious one.

I understand, I’m from Europe and here it’s quite opposite than in China, people try to be tanned to be prettier ((o: And a little bit of sun is definitelly healthy, natural source of vitamin D. I personally prefer something in between, little tanned but not too much.

From the latest preview it seems the episode with Amidst snowstorm.. crue will be broadcasted this saturday. And we’ll see what the next preview will show.
But it is a little sad that some dramas are so greatly promoted, H!6 is broadcasted while they are airing, and other dramas lack promotion and H!6 comes after the airing ends. It is the second time for Esther’s drama. Her last one (My journey to you) was dropped out of nowhere and H!6 was broadcasted long after airing ended. And now it’s the same.. I hoped they will do something to broadcast H!6 sooner, but it doesn’t look like that /o:

You are right. As Esther’s fan I’m already used to people hating on her for some weird reasons and she really has to work harder. But I’m surprised it’s the same for XuKai. I thought boys are not so hated. But you must be right. I didn’t know XuKai too much, but after watching SF6, I don’t understand why he is not among the top actors? His acting skills are great, he is very handsome, seems like very nice and kind boy, hardworking, not cocky at all, so how is it possible? Jelousy can be the reason, there is nothing to hate about him, the same as for Esther..

If it would be about interesting story, this drama would be on top (o; The plot is great, in fact everything in this drama is great. Boring? Are you kidding me? How could something boring make people cry for like one third of episodes?? There was never a dull moment here, first few episodes were full of fun and sweetness, the rest was very exciting, heartbreaking and full of fights.
If you find it boring you probably don’t understand the plot. Or you are just into different kind of dramas..
For me, this plot was so interesting! So real! Nobody was just good or bad, as in real life. It was not dumb - like this character is good from the beginning to the end, this is villain, you don’t have to think too much to watch it. No way, this drama made you think a lot, reconsider your oppinion about characters, often being surprised.. I enjoyed it very much!

It seems to me that modern dramas with hot scenes usually top the charts. I guess now Amidst a snowstom is already top and as I watched some clips, there is a lot of hot kissing scenes. As if people are hungry for such dramas because thanks to censorship there are not many hot scenes in any dramas. It was the same with Only for love (and this was even more evident because a lot of people mentioned the script wasn’t good but it was still topping the charts).
But I’m happy SF6 is doing great despite the lack of these hot scenes. It means people appreciate also the story, the acting and also the sweet chemistry of main leads (o:

Her voice is exactly how it is supposed to be for her character. Go check the game (from which the deama was adapted) on youtube - you will see the original Yue Qi has the same voice. Esther is praised for dubbing Yue Qi perfectly.
If you don’t like it, you will not like Yue Qi character as well. So don’t watch. It is that simple.
The drama is great, acting of all is on top, plot is great. But if you can’t get over the FL’s voice (but in fact over the Yue Qi character’s voice), you would probably not enjoy it and would still complain. So save yourself from it and find different drama with characters to your liking.
You know, don’t take it as attack to you, it is not my intention, but trust me, it is so annoying to read complains about FL’s voice all the time. You are neither the first nor the last who complains. But how can you complain about something that is exactly how it is supposed to be?? Why nobody first tries to find more information about characters? How can someone criticize actres for doing her job perfectly?? Don’t take it personally, it is just my frustration. As Esther's fan I’m so fed up with complains about her voice - which is by the way always as her character needs it to be.
