It’s more like she feels like 3 years old, because all her memories (which means also life experience, behavioral patterns) were erased 3 years ago, only her fighting skills stayed untouched. So she was like a toddler at the beginning, learning everything. But in future episodes (around ep. 22 I think?), her memories will be returned, so then maybe her voice will change a little? But I’m not sure, it should stay the same as in game, but I don’t know the game so well. But still, with the years before her memory was erased, she is still like 16 years old if I’m right.

I was able to read that review just to the half of it. It is clear that person has no idea about the plot and probably also doesn’t know it is adapted from a video game and it is following the game plot. And as I read the plot should be very good (people who know the game wrote it). And to assume it is crap after just 6 episodes is also hinting the author is not really capable to write objective review..
I don’t know the plot of the game too much, just basic plotline, so I also don’t understand some things in the drama, but I don’t mind because they will be revealed later (and as I think - at the right time for the plot). And many of the things that the reviewer assumes to be illogical seem pretty fine to me..
So I think you are right to watch till the end and then come with your own opinion about the drama.
Review after 6 episodes (of 36 in total) is just a trash for me, with no real value..

Both is possible. They will probably change the script a little, because I doubt they could include all the hot scenes of main leads (and there is quite a lot of them in the novel, like half of the book ((o: ) So they will need something else for so many episodes. I heard they want to focus more on FL career, so we’ll see..

It’s OK not to like this kind of voice. I’m from Europe and it is not common here as well. Nobody here talks like that, it would look ridiculous (o: But I understand it is different in China and I usually don’t mind it in their dramas too much. But there are also some dramas where it’s too much for me, that’s true (o: But in case of Esther, it never bothered me, it somehow fitted the character for me, and it had some development. And Esther somehow can act cute and not looking odd doing it (o: I saw her first in LBFAD and I liked her, so I read more info about her and I was surprised how amazing girl she is. So it makes me sad she has so many undeserved haters (here I definitelly don’t mean you, I mean all that people who say how ugly she is, how annoying voice she has, how bad actress she is and more). And almost always complaining about her voice - although she is a voice actress, dubbing all her characters + some movies like the last Spiderman (she dubbed Gwen). So how could be her voice bad? Why would the directors let her dubb if they wouldn’t think her voice is accurate for the character? The only problem is that people criticizing her voice don’t understand that the character is supposed to have such voice, the director wants exactly this voice and a lot of people in Chine like that voice. And the solution for these people is very easy - to avoid dramas with such FL characters who are supposed to talk like this. There is no need to say Esther ruined the drama because of her voice - that is just a nonsense and it shows they don’t understand her character (and it is also very rude).
I hope you will like Esther in this drama, her voice will probably change to more matured as her character will mature. And I think her acting is great (fans of the game say she is great as Yue Qi, exactly like in game) and also the rest of the crew is great, XuKai is amazing (o:

Wei Zhi has a brother? I don’t remember him from a book.. But Ding Chengxin could play Dao Duo, he would fit that character.

Both SaF 4 and 6 are adaptations from video games. There are like 7 or more series of this videogame (called Chinese paladin or Sword and fairy, it seems like both names are used). Some series were adapted to dramas few years ago (it was number 1, 3 and 5 I think), now they adapted number 4 and 6). The plot is different for each serie, no need to watch one after another, you can watch them separately, the plots are independent on each other).

If you hate her so much, skip this one too. Her acting has nothing to do with your hate for her, she is very good actress, directors are praising her acting, so objectively, her acting is good (I think we can agree the directors know better then you). She has enough fans, so feel free to watch dramas without her, there is enough of them (o;

I’m too old to be hardcore fan, but I just love this girl! My first c-ent drama was LBFAD, then I read a lot about Esther and the more I read the more I liked her. I read a lot of comments about her from people who got to know her personally (her coworkers, hosts at variety shows, staf of her dramas etc.) and all of them were talking so nicely about her, how she is always cheerfull, makes everybody happy, moodmaker, ready to help everyone (even people she doesn’t know), always caring for people around more than for herself, dedicated to her work, never complaining. It also seems all her coworkers become her friends (o: After reading all this from people who really know her, I’m pretty sure she must be extremely nice girl with golden heart and I can see why all people around her like her so much.
And that’s also why I’m very angry at all haters who know nothing about her, but still talk so terribly about her, she doesn’t deserve that )o:

I think that this kind of voice (cute, childish, whatever you call it) is favoured in China somehow, because even a lot of FLs in novels are described as talking like it. And not always the ones that are supposed to be children or child-like, but also adult girls. I read just a few novels (I was curious about the plot before the drama will air) and FLs in them were talking like it a lot (it was especially described there, that they “said it in high-pitched cute voice” etc.). So I believe it is considered cute to talk like this in China and that’s why it is used so often in dramas.
Esther usually gets roles that are supposed to be exactly like that, therefor she uses this kind of voice (and has many haters for that, especially among international fans who don’t understand popularity of such voice).
I don’t mind that voice, it is how it was supposed to be and I really like Esther, she has amazing personality.

Your problem is that you don’t know what are the characters supposed to be like. Like here - Esther’s voice is exactly how it is supposed to be, just watch the original game on youtube, Yue Qi has exactly the same voice as Esther in drama - that is why Esther is praised by fans of the game for her voice and acting in this drama. She embodied her character, she is really like Yue Qi from the game. Yue Qi is like 3 years old baby, all her memories and behavioural patterns were erased 3 years ago, she was like a toddler.
The same with her other characters - most of them are supposed to talk with cute baby voice, it is according to the script (to the novels). But in My journey to you, she uses totally different voice, matured one, because her character is supposed to be matured there.
So next time, try to find out more about the character before you complain. And avoid watching if you hate the character (o;

It was weird. First, it leaked that SaF6 will air 18th January. Then IQIYI out of nowhere started airing SaF4 one day sooner. So people started watching SaF4 first and many of them will watch SaF6 after SaF4 finishes airing, not simultanously (not everybody has so much time to watch both). So I think IQIYI knew what are they doing /o: But in the end, it harms both SaFs, because it devides number of viewers between both dramas (if it would air at different time, viewership could be much higher for both, as well as heat index..)

Right, lets enjoy the drama. I’m affraid we (fans out of China, not knowing chinese language) can do nothing for increasing the heat index.. But still, I’m a little sad, they would deserve higher one )o: As Esther’s fan I wish her big success, she would deserve it for all her hard work and dedication. And according to what XuKai’s fans are saying, he is also still waiting for a big success he deserves. Both Esther and XuKai are amazing here, as well as all other cast. So lets still hope the success will come!
It is unlucky with both Paladin dramas airing at the same time, people have to choose which to watch. I believe that if it would air separately, both Paladins would have higher number of views.

I’m curious - what makes you to come here and comment like this? It takes time, so what is your motivation? Jelousy? Want to make someone angry which makes you happy? Or just let other pay attention to you? I never understood motivation of people like you. But in fact I think haters like you are quite pittyable, because if you would be satisfied with your life and happy, you wouldn’t have need to spread hate..

I don’t know about Esther’s fans hating on JJ, I don’t hate on anybody. But haters are everywhere, especially Esther has a lot of them. It seems SaF4 also has some, as you write about decreesing ratings. It’s the same with SaF 6, haters rated all episodes by 1, and I mean really all - also the ones not released /o: The best hater’s comment was that characters have no development (this review was written for the first episode ((o: ).
I just hope they will stop doing it for both SaF dramas as well as for the actors /o:

So Esther’s voice is accurate. But it means you don’t like the character itself, so it’s ok, SaF 6 is not for you.. I like it, I don’t mind her voice, it suits the character. And XuKai - Esther chemistry is absolutely top!

Well, that’s not true. Both FL and ML of SaF6 were praised by “father of SaF game” for perfectly playing their characters. And FL’s voice is perfectly matching voice of her game character (it’s easy to watch the original game on youtube to compare - the voice is supposed to sound childish).
So saying they are overacting and FL’s voice is bad is total nonsense. Even fans of the game say both SaF 6 ML and FL are doing great job.
Try to find out something about the characters before criticizing. It is always like this - people don’t know anything about the characters, but still are sure the actors are doing bad job portraying them..
You know, say you don’t like SaF6, say you don’t like the plot, it’s all OK. Just don’t downgrade FL’s and ML’s acting or voice dubbing, especially when it’s highly undeserved and unfair.
I’m already overly sensitive especially about comments of Esther’s voice - she is voice actress for god’s sake, she knows perfectly what voice to use, if her voice wouldn’t be good, she would be dubbed by someone else. But her voice is always on point and perfect for her character, that’s why she is praised by many for her dubbing. Most of her characters are supposed to have childish voice, so she uses childish voice. That’s all.

They are not watching it at all /o: If they can rate episodes that haven’t even aired yet, why should they bother to rate a drama they havent seen any single minute of?
How sad these people.. But I believe they can’t win (o;
I watched 6 episodes and I love it. I didn’t expect I will love pairing of Esther with XuKai so much, they are both amazing! So fingers crossed for this drama to be very succesfull!!
