Love how huiju stands up for yian!! Rarely see a female lead be this assertive and giving to the relationship. Hate to see women be so passive. I'm here for this change! And the ending was *swoooon* fireworks :"))
YESS I always dread the cliche second to last episode noble sacrifice break up for no reason, mostly because it…
Yes totally agree...love how the plot is consistent with the characters and vice versa. So nothing feels like just a plot device but actually serves a purpose beyond that too.
Byeon Woo Seok is so gorgeous I can't look away any time he's in the frame lmao...they really made use of his modeling years with that last walk up to the ladies *swooooon*
Loving the main leads and their dynamic. Huiju actively influencing the Prince's growth while he has been teaching her warmth and generosity...love to see a reciprocal relationship!!
I like that they got rid of the inevitable nobke sacrifice and "break up" already in ep 5 so we can see their actual relationship bloom from here on out.
Wow they just get straight into it from ep 1. Only seen ep 1 but it's seeming to be just what fans of other gorey highschool themed thrillers like Night Has Come will enjoy...
I enjoyed ep 2. The leads' chemistry, especially ahn hyo seop is carrying the show for me rn. A lot of suspension of belief is required tho, especially the last scene of ep 2. I racked my brain for so many possibilities of how the writers would make them "meet" up in the middle of the night coz ofc both r awake so obviously they *have* to meet! I even thought they'd go the sleepwalking route since our FL has insomnia but woah they went with the most random coincidence.
Again, this is a lighthearted watch meant to be enjoyed with ur brain switched off. This year has already had a lot of fun releases and this might be the most cliche of them all so far so I dont really mind it. I'm enjoying it and the world building is already great. SML could've had his own love interest tho like in Business Proposal 😪
Oh noo they could've kept this under wraps tbh...the uncle was such a cool part of the show...in fact i thought he'd always remain a mystery figure we'll never meet, so his reveal would've been nice if it were a suprise...
Ahn Hyo Seop really looks like an anime character come alive doesn't he? That last shot with the juxtaposition of his real self and the cartoon drawing had literally no difference 😍🫠
Chae Won Bin and Kim Bum r new to me. I'm not sure how I feel about either yet but the 1st ep was entertaining enough. Ahn Hyo Seop's role reminded me of Chief Hong from Hometown Cha Cha Cha.
I for one am kinda tired of seeing traumatized characters. On one hand, I understand that a romcom needs some kinda character depth but trauma isn't the only way to achieve that. Business Proposal is a great example of a romcom that worked brilliantly without any of that digging into the past and overcoming trauma bit. Not to mention the love triangle they're obviously setting up in this show already.
Nonetheless, the FL's trauma here has a lot of potential considering influencers and product endorsements have actually caused real world damage and is only becoming more rampant now thanks to social media. It's a very relevant subject for current times and the idea of a privileged FL messing up big time and learning from it can work really well for this show if they handle it right.
I didn’t even know kdramas were catering to global audiences now? Why is this a thing? I always thought people watch kdramas precisely because they aren't the typical recycled Western garbage we've been used to for decades. If this is about attracting newer viewers from global platforms like Netflix, i guess it makes sense, but even then, kdramas are so unique to SK from the aesthetics to the performances etc that it can never truly be a global product...

Yup and they changed so many great titles last minute. Like We Are All Fighting Our Own Worthlessness to We Are All Trying Here, Geonu and Fairy to Head Over Heels, and I Am A Sinner to Born Guilty...
They always change a unique title to the most generic one 🤦♀️
I always love a reverse-role plot with a rich FL and a not-so-rich ML. You don’t see this very often.
There's been so many of these tho: queen of tears, my demon, crash landing on you, hotel del luna, its okay not to be okay, touch your heart, angel's last mission etc etc

From their track record, there is only a chance they will make it worse lets be honest...they've butchered many a dramas english titles to hope for anything better😂

I'll be watching with a positive mindset haha 🤣
