I've heard that the ending is a happy one, but from what I've seen, isn't it more of an open ending? It doesn't show them meeting outside the game unless I'm mistaken. I haven't watched it yet, but I don't really like endings that leave room for interpretation instead of giving a definite happy conclusion.
