Has the SML done anything romantic for the FML based on the last 7 episodes or was he just the standard green…
I commented before and you told me to wait until episode 7 before watching, but I just wanted to check again now that the new episode has been released. How are things looking between Sa Gye and Kim Bom? I'm probably going to have wait until all 10 episodes are out before watching as I dont want to watch a drama that will end up like Love Alarm. The clips I’ve been seeing make it seem like she has feelings for Tae Yang and might end up with him. Or is that not the case?
Btw, in this comment I'm only talking about the romance in this drama, not the plot itself. I actually really enjoyed the plot and the silliness, since that kind of thing is exactly my type of thing. But this comment is purely about how frustrating I found the romantic side of the story for Min Jae and Ju Ha. Everything else outside of that was great.
Ok, so I started watching this mainly for Min Jae and Ju Ha, but I was greatly disappointed and frustrated with this pair. They simply didn’t have enough romantic scenes together to be shippable. Ju Ha had far more screentime and banter with Mark, which didn’t help matters. Honestly, it would’ve made much more sense if she’d ended up with him instead of Min Jae.
There was only one kiss scene between Min Jae and Ju Ha, and that didn’t even happen until the final episode. That made it even more frustrating, especially when Tae Ho and Se Yeon were practically kissing in every episode. It just highlighted how much more attention their romance received, while Min Jae and Ju Ha were clearly treated as a side couple.
I enjoy a good slow burn, but this was just a complete letdown. Most slow burns still offer romantic development throughout the drama. In this case, though, any signs of a connection only appeared in the final episode. I couldn’t even pinpoint the moment Ju Ha actually fell for Min Jae. Aside from the spark in the sit-up scene, which stood out, everything else between them felt flat. Their romance didn’t work for me... it felt forced and unnatural.
What really bothers me is that just as the drama ended, their relationship was only beginning to take shape even though that should've been the point where their romance should have been reaching its peak, not just starting. I understand this isn’t a romance-focused drama, but they could have at least given Min Jae and Ju Ha a similar pacing to Tae Ho and Se Yeon. I’d have been satisfied with that. Instead, we were left with scraps right at the very end.
This reminded me so much of John Wick, with a similar trope where the main lead is feared by everyone, and the guy he's getting revenge on has a father who's furious because his son messed with the wrong person but still tries to protect him as best he can. Am I the only one who thought of this? At least, that's the vibe I'm getting one and a half episodes in.
Fml ends up with the Ml, she is in love with him and not the sml there is no chance unless a love alarm is pulled
I havent started watching this so I have no clue who the ML is or who the SML is haha, i'm guessing Ha Yu Jun is the ML? I really hope it doesnt pull the Love Alarm move though.
Who will she end up with? Does anyone know? I haven't watched it yet, and I know it's not finished, but I'm curious who you all think she'll end up with.
Totally disagree. I can count on one hand the 16 ep series in the last 5 years that were solid the ENTIRE run.…
The statement "I can count on one hand the 16-episode series in the last 5 years that were solid the ENTIRE run" is more of an opinion than a fact. Personally, I can name far more than just a handful, but everyone will have their own view on this, so there’s not much I can say about it.
I totally get what you're saying though, but I don’t think the problem is the 16-episode format itself. It’s more about weak writing or poor planning. When done well, 16 episodes give enough space to fully develop characters and let the story breathe. The solution shouldn’t be to shorten everything just because some writers can’t handle longer formats. Instead, the standard of writing needs to improve. I'd take a well-paced 16-episode drama over a rushed 8-episode one that barely scratches the surface any day.
honestly I would say it depends on the plot and the storyline some 16 episodes dramas just get way too boring…
That’s true, it depends on the story. Some 16-episode dramas drag with too much filler, so 12 can work better. But if the plot’s rich, shorter formats can feel rushed. It’s all about finding the right balance.
I agree. Everyone is trying to condense into this 6-8-10 episode format that streaming companies love to put out…
Exactly! There was a time when trimming a couple of episodes felt necessary, but now it has gone too far the other way. These 6 to 12 episode dramas often feel rushed or underdeveloped, with barely enough time to explore the characters or relationships properly.
I really wish there were more 16-episode K-dramas like this. I checked through MDL's search filter and, so far this year, there have only been five K-dramas with that episode count, which is quite mad considering we're already nearly halfway through 2025. There are more on the way, of course, but back in the day, 16+ episodes used to be the standard. Now they just keep getting shorter and shorter.
Definitely I'm here for Liu Xue Yi. Not a fan of the FL. I dived into this drama to check if it has the same vibe…
Can you please explain the plot of this drama in a little more detail for me please. I saw some clips and she kissed Xue Yuming in a car, but isnt her boyfriend Yu Jian? so was she cheating or did they break up first? Im a little confused, can you give me a an Idea of whats the story is about as the synopsis here didnt really help me understand much
You do realise this show is literally called The Devil’s Plan, right? It’s a psychological strategy game where manipulation, lying, and screwing people over is how you win. If you're crying because Hyungyu didn’t hold everyone's hand through it, maybe this genre isn’t for you. Try watching The Angel’s Plan... if it ever exists, where everyone shares their secrets and sings kumbaya.
And let’s not pretend the others were saints. Every single one of them, apart from Justin, used others to push their own agenda. Hyungyu was just better at it. At one point, the entire group ganged up on him, but you didn’t seem to have a problem with that, did you? Oh right... it’s only wrong when he plays the game well. What a joke.
This is a psychological thriller. It literally says so in the genre section. Mind games and strategy are the whole point. If that offends you, you're clearly watching the wrong show. Everything that happens in the show stays in the show. Don’t forget, it’s just a game at the end of the day. In the final episode, everyone congratulated him happily while he apologised, and they were all smiles with no genuine hate towards one another. They all knew it was a game. He simply played it better than the rest and made full use of the show’s title, The Devil’s Plan.

I did notice he will have a cameo in 'Taxi Driver - Season 3', but I wouldnt count that.
