😁 My fav will ever be KaH, at least until something at the same level comes its way. Untamed was my first BL so it kind of has a special place in my heart but my no. 1 is KaH. I think, despite the fact that it obviously hadn't a big fund and often looks kinda cheap, Guardian is no. 2 because of the heartwarming chemistry between the mains. S.C.I. is very recommendable too. 😊

Although, Chinese producers have mastered the gay subtext due to obvious reasons and I haven't watched a Western production that was able to give me such intense feelings like The Untamed, Guardian or Killer and Healer. All the Chinese restrictions brought out the producers creativity to a level that's almost unmatched. I prefer a deep, touching relationship to some obvious but shallow scenes (not saying that every Western work's like that though).... And I'm biased because I just love Killer and Healer so much.

It's an original work and the novel was written according to the tv script.

Tv show + fanfics and you will maybe get the best romance ever 😁 But I can understand you and in the end it's everyone's own decision (but you definitely will miss a really good show 🤫... not me still trying to convince you...).

You might miss a really great show with perfectly written characters, a good story and a bromance that just lets you think, "Yeah, Bromance my a$$." Mao Zijun's and Yi Bochen's chemistry is unmatched. Censored yes, but unmatched and satisfying to watch. Maybe you try to give it a chance. 😁

I highly recommend watching the show. It's one of the best Chinese dramas you can get. There's is a point in the last episode when the two actors in the last scene meet on the street and talk. If you stop watching until the moment they start walking, you have a really nice ending and you won't miss anything important and it's just a few minutes before the episode ends.

The chemistry between Mao Zijun and Yi Bochen is so enchanting it would be sad if you miss this. Believe me, there are so many things to smile about in this show. And the cat is great 😉

The ending of the novel is a good one. If you are interested in reading, the prologue and the chapters 1-27 are available online. If you wanna read chapters 28-32 and the epilogue you can write a DM. If you have more questions, you can ask anytime.
